Ummmmm, in a word: YES!!!!!!! Crazy, crazy.

I hereby summon you to a Margarita before our HHN RIP. I will buy you the Perfect Margarita. No fru-fru nonsense. Not frozen. The way a Margarita SHOULD be made. It's not on the menu. You need to ask for it specifically. Salt optional. No ifs, ands, or BUTTS!!!!!!!

By the way, I think I am a wedding snob. Not that my own wedding was out of Martha Stewart or anything, not even close. However, I do believe that if you haven't made your wedding convenient and worthwhile for guests to attend, then you shouldn't bother inviting anyone. Or at the very least, not be mad when people don't want to come to your wedding. I know that's mean, but since when did it become OK for people to have to take off work to attend weddings (Friday afternoon weddings, Sunday night weddings, Destination weddings) AND pay for their own drinks at your wedding? Again, WHY do I read the community board?

:snooty: :goodvibes may i add my "mad"? The well-to-do cheap SOBs (my out-laws) who attend said wedding reception at lovely venue (shall we say country club, sit down dinner & open bar all night - top shelf booze) drag along uninvited guests :sad2: THEN gift a measely $25 to $50 per couple? :headache: didn't even pay for their dinner costs! and they act "uppity/social climbing twits".

To add insult to injury, SIL didn't buy said couple any Xmas gift - saying she spent enough on them 2 days prior. (Note: I always spend more than the chumpy $20 gift card she bestows annually, while pointing out in boring detail, the 100's of new boyd's bears she accumulated during each year:rolleyes1 ) i shall not lower my standards...stay the course.:rotfl:

Now, this is just Jodie, but Jodie would NEVER. EVER. IN A MILLION AND 3 YEARS. ask her wedding guests to fly out to Las Vegas for a short chapel ceremony, then take her guests out to a buffet (not in a private room, just a buffet), AND make her guests pay for their own drinks and provide no other entertainment. I prefer not to think this makes me a snob. Just that I would be more of a gracious host than that. But, again, that's just me.

That's stupid! I would never dream of asking that!

And, since I'm referring to myself in the 3rd person, I bet you can all tell that I am once again on midnights.

:lmao: .....yep!

Speaking of weddings, I should dig out some wedding pics to post ....

:surfweb:

usually, today i want to be princess peach!

You can be Princess Peach... if you'll help me come up with some ideas for my sons birthday party in November. Joshua has decided (and given me plenty of warning) that he wants a Super Mario (Ninetendo) birthday. Try explaining to an almost 6 y/o that they stopped making Mario party supplies about 15 years ago.

:rotfl2: uh....more than once honey..... sorry to hear you're not much better....(maybe it was a dessert? ) Anyhow, I believe the doctor's number is 1-800-not-again :rolleyes1

Okay, I only started a poop conversation once. The rest of times I was just responding. :p

I know ... the CB is like a train wreck ... you can't help watching!

Don't get me started on destination weddings... or being a gracious host. I'll have to start listing the fiasco that is idiot nephews wedding(s) and then my stomach will just churn more.

If you show me yours, I'll show you mine. (Wedding pics, that is.) :thumbsup2

Now, THAT is just crap! We got a few $50 gifts, but I thought that was just a regional thing ... For the most part, Mike thought my family were members of the Irish mafia! :goodvibes

Looking for pics ... stand by.

Tricia -

My little bean wants to be Mario for Halloween

Try ebay - maybe you will find something out there

ohhhhh - wedding pictures? I have some :upsidedow

Jodie first though

And now presenting Mike and Jodie's August 20, 2005 wedding:

The Kennedrunk where our guests stayed:

232323232%7Ffp54%3Dot%3E2328%3D%3B%3B%3A%3D7%3A5%3DXROQDF%3E2323%3A%3A25%3A529%3Aot1lsi

232323232%7Ffp3%3B%3Dot%3E2328%3D%3B%3B%3A%3D7%3A5%3DXROQDF%3E2323%3A%3A25%3A625%3Aot1lsi

We had a trolley pick up our guests and transport them to and from the wedding:

232323232%7Ffp7%3Evq%3D3237%3E%3A%3C9%3E6%3B4%3EWSNRCG%3D3232%3C4%3B6576%3A9vq0mrj

232323232%7Ffp63%3Dot%3E2328%3D%3B%3B%3A%3D7%3A5%3DXROQDF%3E2323%3A%3A25%3A8299ot1lsi

The setting:

232323232%7Ffp64%3Dot%3E2328%3D%3B%3B%3A%3D7%3A5%3DXROQDF%3E2323%3B5%3A74379%3Bot1lsi

232323232%7Ffp47%3Dot%3E2328%3D%3B%3B%3A%3D7%3A5%3DXROQDF%3E2323%3A%3A25%3A984%3Aot1lsi

232323232%7Ffp64%3Dot%3E2328%3D%3B%3B%3A%3D7%3A5%3DXROQDF%3E2323%3A%3A25%3A79%3B4ot1lsi

My brother, the honorable Rev. Brian, performed the ceremony:

232323232%7Ffp64%3Dot%3E2328%3D%3B%3B%3A%3D7%3A5%3DXROQDF%3E2323%3A%3A25%3A%3A235ot1lsi

You may not be able to tell, but we're laughing during our vows here:

232323232%7Ffp63%3Dot%3E2328%3D%3B%3B%3A%3D7%3A5%3DXROQDF%3E2323%3A%3A25%3A6982ot1lsi

They blew bubbles after the ceremony, and I'm not sure you can tell, but my niece threw her flower petals AFTER the ceremony:

232323232%7Ffp63%3Dot%3E2328%3D%3B%3B%3A%3D7%3A5%3DXROQDF%3E2323%3A%3A25%3A%3A%3B34ot1lsi

This would be me hugging Mike's mom and Mike shaking my dad's hand:

232323232%7Ffp58%3Dot%3E2328%3D%3B%3B%3A%3D7%3A5%3DXROQDF%3E2323%3A%3A25%3A9989ot1lsi

We stuffed lottery tickets into our table envelope cards. I had them personalized with "Something Borrowed, Something Blue. A Bit of Luck from Us to You! Thanks for sharing our special day." Thank you. Wrote that line myself. They were lottery rub offs that you had to add up to the # 7 --- it was very entertaining trying to add at that point, and lots of people won $$. Fun stuff!

232323232%7Ffp58%3Dot%3E2328%3D%3B%3B%3A%3D7%3A5%3DXROQDF%3E2323%3A%3A25%3A89%3C9ot1lsi

232323232%7Ffp47%3Dot%3E2328%3D%3B%3B%3A%3D7%3A5%3DXROQDF%3E2323%3A%3A25%3A56%3B4ot1lsi

Us trying to hoax The Ham into the reception to be announced:

232323232%7Ffp47%3Dot%3E2328%3D%3B%3B%3A%3D7%3A5%3DXROQDF%3E2323%3A%3A25%3A829%3Aot1lsi

This is actually my avatar:

We were nervy enough not to have a cake, but to have banana cream pie (with a Viennese Table). This wasn't to cheap out (we served Lobster at the wedding ;)), but it's because we luvs our banana cream pie!:

232323232%7Ffp63%3Dot%3E2328%3D%3B%3B%3A%3D7%3A5%3DXROQDF%3E2323%3B5%3A748%3B35ot1lsi

And yet, people STILL took pictures of us cutting the PIE!

232323232%7Ffp63%3Dot%3E2328%3D%3B%3B%3A%3D7%3A5%3DXROQDF%3E2323%3A%3A25%3A8568ot1lsi

i have never had a margarita.
am i missing out on something good?

just passing the time until bubba's mom comes back with the 411.

Yes you are missing something. A margaritta is actually the only alcohol I will drink anymore. Don't really like anything else. To many "Gemma" nights in my younger days.:rotfl:

Hey Lori! We got rain last night and today too in spurts, but not a terrible storm. I don't know how much we got...it's still so hot down here that it just gets the ground a little muddy, and it seems to evaporate pretty quickly and it just seems sticky outside.

Well, it was a very heavy rain, but was quiet. I never even knew that it happened until I got out of bed. Then it got pretty hot & muggy for the rest of the day, at least until we walked out of the house for Ally's soccer meeting @ about 6:30 with no time to come back in and change and it was very windy & cool. This morning it is still very cool, needed to wear pants today but I'm not ready for that yet.

Speaking of Margaritas.......there's a bar inside Cafe La Bamba (at the studios) that serves a really good margarita called a Mayan Margarita (and it's pretty stout too!)! You don't even have to go inside the restaurant, they have a walk-up window from the outside!

I have seen that bar many times, even have eaten many times but have never ordered a Margaritta from them. I just figured they were weak and not worth it. Glad to know they are good.

Mornin' homies....been up since 6am :guilty: (i am NOT a morning person)...so, just waiting for the guy to come to clean the heater :rolleyes1 DH woke Bubba up on his way out too.....he wanted to play his computer game  (poor kid didn't have much playing time after his busy evening :rolleyes2 ) Oh, and i forgot to thank all the "toe-wishers" :rotfl: feels better today, but looks bit worse :confused3

I can not believe you got a service man out there at 7!:scared1: I wouldn't have been to happy about that time either.

Thanks for all the welcomes! It's hard to find a place where you can just chat about Universal - or anything else for that matter.

I am so sorry I forgot to welcome you yesterday, so WELCOME!!! We have a lot of fun in here. I feel like these wonderful people are family. Hope you stick around.

You guys did some chatting yesterday! I'm blond and I didn't take notes, so forgive me. I'm still not at my best this morning. I guess I'm going to break down and call the #*@% doctor's office. Can't you feel my excitement?

That stinks. I hope the doctor can give you something to get over this bug and it's not just something that has to run it's course. (Especially a 9 month course:rotfl:

usually, today i want to be princess peach!

Mornin' Princess Peach!!!

The only time I go to the Community Board is when one of youse guys post a link to something there. Otherwise that is a train wreck that I most definetly stay away from! Way to much hatefulness & drama for my blood.

Now as for the wedding, that is just rediculous. If I were doing that I would let them know they were welcome but never expect them to come. How do you do that anyway? You know you don't want to offfend them by not inviting but you also don't want to offend them by letting them know they are welcome.:confused3

Just how is it that Katie lets us know we can join her wedding party??.;) :rotfl:

That sucks Princess Peach. My in-laws, although wonderful grandparents to my two youngest, treat the two older kids (their step-grandchildren) much differently. They don't even acknowledge their birthdays anymore but give the two youngest ones way more than they should. For Christmas she spends the same amount on all of her boys & myself & the youngest two kids but the older ones get a check box with less than half of what she gives everyone else. I have had them stop coming over when we open gifts, just take their gifts to them.

Now just waiting for Jodie & Tricia's wedding pics.

Have a fabulous day everyone!!!!!

jodie - cinderella had nothing on you...awesome pics; u r radiant! very pretty setting too!

barb - she gave them $50. I got my best xmas present ever from her - a coldstone creamery $15 GC. Have i mentioned we have none in our area. i always buy her one of her stoopid pricey bears NOT this year; think i'll give them all Disney Tshirts...the $4.99 ones on disneyshopping - he-he.

I make nice for DH's sake, dread the holidays - only time we interact.

ps - starting to like the whole princess peach...unfortunately i'm more of a Queen Bowser Koopa when it comes to personality lol
Bowser.JPG

tracie - mario is an excellent choice...give him star power!

Wow, it took me so long to finish that, with all the times my computer screwed up on me & I had to retype it, Jodie had time to fod and post her pics!!!!!!!

Looks like a great day Jodie. Wish we could have all been there.

Tracie - can't wait to see yours either!

I'm a drinker (usually weekends only) but I absolutely CAN-NOT do margharitas. I think you definitely need to be a Te-Kill-ya person of which I am not. Te-kill-ya makes me gag at just the smell of it, that nasty little foul plant that that stuff is made out of.

I can do just about anything but that, not into liquear though, the cough syrup tasting stuff.

I suggest Rum and/or Vodka with Pineapple juice, fresh chopped mango, dash of half and half and cream of cocunut for a Mango-Coloda.:)

there is mixing tequilla $15 - 20 or so a bottle (two fingers :scared: pepe lopez, cuervo, margarittaville;) )...

then there's the top shelf $30 - 60 (resposado, patron)

i'm yearning to try Rey Sol $300+, assume it's not a shooter; more of a sipper.

you usually have to peruse the CB to find a thread of this caliber:rotfl2:

can you say hoochie mama?

http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1576315&page=5

OMG, how bout them apples! That is ALL they were talking about on Fox News this weekend!

Well, friends, I am off to bed. Thanks for the kind words about our wedding photos. It was small, fun, and "us" and I wouldn't have changed anything except for the weather maybe!

Ok, when I wake up, my friends better have reciprocated with their pics!

Okay, so I HAD to read the beginning and the whole "blurring out the crotch" thing....uh, how do YOU people sit on a plane?? :confused3 I can't see UP anyone's skirt/crotch area when I sit on a plane  Like one of the few replies on that thread, they should have given her a blanket and asked her to cover (discreetly) if it bothered them THAT much...... let's not worry about the plane blowing up or being hijacked....no...let's worry about how this girl is dressed! :sad2:

So, everyone.....send Janet, er rather, Princess Peach, a ColdStone Creamery GC for Xmas this year ;)

Well, heater guy is finally done and outta here....time to shower and run errands....before work on this rainy day :guilty:

Janet...enjoy yer booze....share w/ mac ;)

Jodie.....enjoy Mr. Sandman :cloud9:

Spidey....you have my sympathies  (....maybe we should hook you up with Princess Peach and Gemma :scratchin )

Lori....bet you coulda gave Gemma a run for her money in yer day, huh? :rolleyes1

Alison...how'd the hair turn out???

Tricia.....is it twins???
