Oh, Jodie... I can totally see my mom "oversharing" something like that!

Sometimes she pops out with things that are totally disconnected from the conversation we are having. Like, we'll be discussing the weather forecast and suddenly she'll say, "I remember carrying home 2 glass bottles of buttermilk from the store when I was 6 years old. They were so heavy. I dropped one and I was sure my dad would spank me, but he didn't."
-Pause while we wait for her to explain the connection between that and the weather.-
-Awkward pause as we realize there is no explanation coming.-
-Finally, giving up and continuing our conversation where we left off.-

I tried to make the whole period comments seem okay by telling Brad that I had similar coversations with HIS mom and didn’t that even things out? He said, “No, no, NO! That’s just girl talk. You guys discuss your female issues with each other all the time. This would be like my dad casually commenting on erectile dysfunction and expecting you to discuss it with him.”

Okay, he's got me there.

Sharon- Sorry to hear about MIL has MRSA. I've dealt with MRSA when I worked as a nurse many yrs ago. It usually eventually goes away, just alot of isolation precautions to deal with(gloves, mask, gown, goggles). Hope the MRSA goes away. Hope the chest pain goes away that your DH has

Won't be here tomorrow, as DH and I have to drive an hour and a half west of us for a care planning family meeting about FIL. My mom is going to pick up my kids sometime in the morning and watch them at her house for the day.

Tricia, yes, I think Brad has a point about female/male issues needing to stay "in house." Although last Christmas, all the men began talking about "swamp butt" at the table. Of course, most of you know it as Swamp A** but I don't want to be censored again. I have to introduce people to my family delicately. Your story about your mom interjecting superfluous information into conversations was a riot. I can totally picture the scenario. My grandmother (RIP) used to do the same things, except they were always biblical references that no one ever knew how they applied to the situation at hand.

And, oh, I keep forgetting to tell you that Brad being mad at you over a dream he had reminded me of that Friends episode, where Phoebe was mad at Ross and she couldn't figure out why? I had a flashback, and your story gave me a chuckle.

Do you have any idea on Saturday what time the hypnotist (and I think you mentioned a musical?) shows start? I'm hoping early afternoon, not like 5pm or something! Are the haunted houses extra (cost)? Thanks!

i just spent over $200 on tools @ lowes as a housewarming present for Jr DH PO'd (doesn't happen very often, think i'll get him drunk always puts a half-arsed grin on his puss )...i think we got off cheap! Thought for sure we'd get hit up for down payment help - whew! didn't help i noticed middle DSs tires were bald, split the cost of 4 tires with him today.

If I don't make it back online (we're not taking the laptop)...

DS13's team lost last night 22-14. I asked him if he was going to play next year and he said, "Does everyone who plays in the 9th grade get a letterman jacket?" I guess that makes a difference ....kids......
DS10 has a game in the morning, I hope they can keep their undefeated record!
Barb, we haven't decided on our dates for sure, but probably June 22-26.
Lori, thanks for getting the search party on alert for me, but yes we are all ok, just terribly busy.... and I need to get back on my chores....Ah, being a mother and a wife is a lot of work!

Dontcha know chix dig letter jax?? I hate when real life gets in the way of my socializing And yes, I'd agree....guess I'll haveta make a post-it "roll call" sheet & stick to my laptop somewhere! Our dates are the 26th-28th @ U before the cruise....prolly miss ya's ...oh well....just haveta plan another trip!!!

Speakin' of....I went to AAA to make the 'monthly payment' today and taped on the desk was 2 calendars...2008 AND 2009. So, do ya think it was real bad that I was looking at the 2009 dates Actually, she (my AAA gal) just got back from 4 nite Wonder cruise...after she said "hi" to me, the very next thing outta her mouth was, "Ryan is gonna absolutely love the DC" Eh, I know he will...my only fear is after the DC being his 1st cruise, any other cruise we take from now on will mostly likely either be a disappointment and/or 'boring' But, heck....his cruise is "on" Disney, so, how can we go wrong??

Well troops...busy day at work in the morning....off to sleep! Bubba's game is at 10am (haveta be there by 9:30 for warm-ups) about 45 minutes away Glad I'm goin to work, but they will be up with me in the morning...will be odd...used to being 'up' by myself Saturday mornings.....
