Hey everyone...quick flyby because I am grading papers :sad2:

Busy days, busy days......today was a total blur! At least it is hump day! Yay!

Cannot wait for the weekend....finally a break!!!

Welcome back MAC!

:wave2: Barb, Keisha, Rose, Tricia, Tracie, Marci, Todd, Gemma, DM, Alison, Jaws and whoever else I missed!

Mac - Sorry you have to go back to work. We went to Williamsburg for our honeymoon 20 years ago. We loved it and would like to go back someday.

Rose - I'm not sure where you live, but accounting jobs seem to be plentiful nowadays. We just hired 3 college graduates for our CPA firm. If his previous employer let him go, and they now want him back - my advice is not to go back. His old problems with that job will resurface at some point. Maybe his new boss will get off his butt and make the job permanent. Sending you warm wishes for this.:wizard:

Well, off to work - will check in with you all tonight.

- Jennifer -

quick hi y'all (for our southern sistas;) ) & a shout out to all!

mac - babaloo:banana: always thought he was rather hot

so, you're going intellectual on us:) , seems as though everytime i switch on the main TV it's either on the history channel or espn. Not much feedback on my Oct. poll question:lmao: ; so which weekend is slower @ U? The one including Columbus Day or the weekend after? Need to get vacation request submitted. So shocked that DH said he wanted to skip the Xmas season & do U/HHN:thumbsup2 since i have to drag him to haunted houses, youngest DS too:confused3

gemma - luv the avatar, what sorta cookies? across the pond, r u familiar with the expression "tossing your cookies" usually after a long bar-crawl.:scared:

barb - u r a busy cookie, is soccer nearing a close for the season? indeed fond of the mug, a gift from my kid (bought with his paperboy money); of course - they don't carry it anymore @ the lame Disney store:rolleyes1

lori - we had a children's place open up a year ago in local mall, they have no plans on opening a disney store:mad: Saw they do sell pins again (whether tradeable or not i cannot say; in the $5 range). Picked up several of the halloween beanies for neighbor kids in lieu of candy ($2.50 ea), folks on the block tend to give "special" treat bags for the neighborhood kids. Figured it was much easier. We've scheduled 3 or 4 trips around launches...always postponed...someday.

jodie - my juant took me past some outlets, got some Xmas shopping done...sacrifice; some one had to do it. lol

elmer - i'm not going to comment on the joys of taking a parent into one's home...good luck. sorry to here the 'lil one isn't feeling well.

tracie - how's your sickie doing today?

kfed - give thim As:thumbsup2 , how's the root canal? i'm back to start my crown today; $s starting to add up.:headache:

Hmmmm don't know which cookies...we call cookies biscuits...unless they are chocolate chip cookies...then they are called cookies.

Never heard of that expression...may use it from now on!! my friends will have no idea what Im on about!

Got my hair cut today....and its DREADFUL!! Seriously awful, horrible, minging etc etc!!

just a quick check in from work.
stuck teaching geometry today and tomorrow.

keisha, i didn't see your poll.
give me the link and i'll check it out when the skool bell rings today...

i say the columbus day weekend is better.
i have gone during that time for the last 4 or 5 years to UO.

due to hhn at night, the place is not crowded until about 3ish in the afternoon.

the following weekend is packed. near the end of the hhn season.

gotta get back to work.

lol Mac...no they didn't. Mum loves it but Im still not sure! She used 'white blonde' with 'golden blonde' hmmmm I think I look a bit like a zebra! Also, I there are really short layers...really short and then my hair just 'drops' to the normal length. Really hard to explain. Hey...at least becoming a vampire vixen will be easier!

LOL, maybe tomorrow- the camera is downstairs and Im tired plus my make up is all a-skew!

mac - i'd post but, i'm on laptop & still clueless as to the bells & whistles:guilty: it's a lame excuse for a poll...i just need to know when to pick for a vacation week to U next October. DH knocked me for a loop when he said he wanted to go then in lieu of Dec:banana:

penny - post back when you hit 50 and will talk:rolleyes1 :rotfl: ; great pic (you've got big, beautiful blue eyes!)...is that a cheesecake? drool

gemma - is your hair "stacked"? that doesn't sound quite right lol; think victoria beckham's do in the back. we need a visual aid!

shout out to the Tag Fairy!!!!!

head's up on our bud, Gemma (from the other side of the pond)

:scared1: we've got a Vampire Vixen in our midst:dance3: :yay:

Evening all.....

Love yer sign Penny....oddly enuf, I am 29 forever ;)

bubba's mom, where have you been?
have you been slacking here..........i thought i would come back to 15 pages to catch up on. looks like it has been quiet here.

I wasn't slackin :confused3 I been here...

Wow...you IS busy.... glad to see ya stop by.... You pick dates for next year yet??? :rolleyes1

Hey everyone...quick flyby because I am grading papers

Hope the mouth is feelin' ok....good to see ya stop by :thumbsup2

barb - u r a busy cookie, is soccer nearing a close for the season?

elmer - i'm not going to comment on the joys of taking a parent into one's home...

We have 3 more Saturday soccer games and then indoor season starts....right away.... 9 of our 12 boys signed up and we recruited some boys from our other (community) team...should keep them in good shape till spring :thumbsup2

And, btw Janet, how IS your Mom?? Ever since our vacation, I haven't heard you mention her :rolleyes1

It's not an easy thing Tricia...good luck with THAT! (But I can see how your Mom wants to be "out of the way" at this time....either that, or it's just too hard for her to watch Carol going thru her difficult ordeal).

Oh yeah....post that pic for the professional here....lemme add my 4 cents ;) (What 'term' do you guys use for gettin' sick after too much drinkin? Hurl? Puke? Tossing your cookies is a good one we use here ;) )

So, another day come and gone. Nothing TOO exciting here, but did email my AAA gal and told her I've been SO busy, i almost forgot to stop in and make this month's payment toward cruise next year! They (AAA) just got back from a Disney cruise, so i told her to bring her pictures so i can lookie :goodvibes

Just finished checkin Bubba's math homework....with a calculator :lmao: I am SO bad at math.... :headache: Usually I help him with it, and DH checks us both!! :lmao: Ahhhh....the joys of parenting.... (altho, i will admit I am quite proud when "we" get a red * )

Getting ready for Survivor and CSI and workout while watching both....will have more time tomorrow....easy day at salon (i make my own schedule, so I try to keep my days 'light' at the salon and not book myself "crazy" )

Hello to everyone I didn't address personally...not intentional....

Have a good one!

Evening All! (and whatever time it is to our friends across the foam)

I've been around a little bit today, but I tried to spend it getting caught up on trip reports. Get caught up there, fall behind here. Sigh.

Joshua's visit with the doctor went fine. He is not anemic. There doesn't seem to be anything obvious in the numbers from his blood work that would indicate anything is wrong. He checked his blood pressure and made him sit, stand, lie down, stand... checking the blood pressure again between each. He checked his ears, which are fine except a little wax buildup. The only thing that concerned him at all was that he heard what he terms a "slight murmur" when he listened to Joshua's heartbeat. He said that is common and usually doesn't mean anything, but with the symptoms Joshua is having it is something to keep an eye on.

Which is exactly what we are doing. The doctor said let's "watchfully wait and see" for the next 2 weeks. If it keeps happening, he'll refer us to a pediatric cardiologist for further testing. If nothing happens, we'll shrug our shoulders and let it go.

Here's hoping for the "nothing happening" option! :thumbsup2

Just a quick drop by to let you all know I am still alive and kicking. :thumbsup2
If any of you remember, my MIL was quite ill and in intensive care. Well, after two weeks of being told she could die at any moment, she has made a remarkable come-back and is now back at the nursing home. As long as they can keep her lungs clear of fluid she will do ok for the near future.
It was an hour drive each way to visit her in the hospital, we are all wiped out.
So last week, I thought everything was getting back to somewhat normal. DH went out to the garage to put his briefcase in the car one morning. Came back in and said he had a stabbing pain in his chest. :scared1: He previously had a heart attack 10 years ago this month. But he said it wasn't the same kind of feeling. Tried to go to work, pain was getting worse, so he went to the doctor. They did a few tests and decided he should be transported to the hospital. He calls me at work from the ambulance, I fly out of there and meet him at the emergency dept. 8 hours later they can't find out what is wrong. They admitted him to the cardiac care unit and monitored him for 24 hours. Still nothing showing up, so they sent him home, still with pain, but not so stabbing now. It's now 5 days later and he still has the pain....heading back to the dr's tomorrow. They think that maybe he tore a muscle deep within his chest around the lung area. But nothing is showing up on the x-rays or CT scans. Kinda scarey. :confused3
Oh-yea, I forgot to tell you that my MIL has the MRSA virus  you guys were talking about. She's had it for about a year. Got it on one of her previous visits to the ER when she fell and broke her hip. She had cut her elbow and a boil developed on the elbow where it was cut. So now when she is hospitalized we all have to wear gloves and gowns and wash up upon leaving.
If she has three blood tests in a row that come back negative for the virus than she will be considered free of it. I forget how far apart the blood tests will be.
And during all this, I've had to bring DH to visit his last college open house. We went to Rensselaer in Troy NY, outside Albany. I bribed his older sister to come along with us. We actually had a great time. :grouphug: It's about a 5 hour drive for us. Stayed over night in Coheas(sp?). Troy was kinda sketchy. He didn't really like the school and it is off his list. There goes that $60,000 scholarship he was offered. Which sounds like alot of money. But its almost $50K a year for tuition, room and board. :rolleyes1 He mailed in his application to WPI(Worcester Poly Tech) today. Beautiful school, about an hour outside of Boston. Plus it's only about a 2 hour drive from home. His first choice is still Embry Riddle in Daytona. They do alot with NASA and Boeing. The campus has 75 airplanes and it's runway is situated next to Daytona Speedway!
Whew, that's about all for now. I've been trying to keep up with all the news and gossip here. I hope everyone is well. :grouphug:

Wow Sharon...you're family have been through the mills!! Im glad your MIL has recovered...Im sure that was a scary and upsetting time for you. I hope your husband is ok and the pain is nothing serious. Just remember...this thread is always here..we're good listeners. Thinkin of you xxx

Thanks Gemma, its a good feeling knowing I (we) can say anything we want that maybe we can't say to family. :goodvibes

eek to Sharon:sad2:

elmer - don't stress, i'm sure all will be well for your baby:wizard:

barb - mom's been remarkably well, took her for an overdue mammogram on Tuesday...they called me today, said more calcification than last one & they need to shoot some more films.:sad1: she's not much of a trooper, hanging in there though; i'm scared. Holding onto the thought that they didn't order an ultrasound, just another mammogram & it's not scheduled until the 6th.

Are any of you watching Survivor???

There doing one of those disgusting food challenges....I'm gagging just watching it on TV....one of the foods was baby turtles. They had to eat 3, shells and all, it went downhill from there.

Tricia....that's good news about Joshua..i think :confused3 Let's just hope it IS the 'wait and see' option...enuf is enuf for your family right now

Janet...glad to hear Ma is doing alright....(till next vacay anyway) Hopefully next mam will prove nothing serious to watch!

Sharon...good to hear about MIL, but WOW! What a mess! Glad your DH didn't have a heart attack, but I do hope they can find out what's wrong and why the pain (chest pain is never a good thing...I'd stayed in the hospital and told 'em i wasn't goin' anywhere till they found out what was wrong!) Honestly, I don't blame your son for wanting to skool down south.... warmer :goodvibes

Yep...we are Survivor watchers here.... and yes, that challenge was :scared: Too bad the whole plan of "throwing it" backfired! :rotfl: Why did James take the immunity idol back to the other camp, when he knew where it was there?? Why didn't Todd keep it and just tell James to get it at his camp? :confused3 Dumb move :headache: But, I wouldn't be eatin' baby turtles, bird fetus' and 1000 yr. old eggs...uh-uh... :sad2: NOT even for $1 million :sad2:

I could probably do the baby turtles...kinda like soft shell crab. But the bird fetus', not in this lifetime or the next!
