Apart from lunch out today as another stretch to Tom`s birthday I have an appointment with my physiotherapist this morning. Got a pain in my knee on Monday night, so managed to get an appointment today, I do think it`s easing already but I didn`t want to leave this when it could have got worse, especially as our trip is so close.

This young man is very good, he sees a lot of runners and he was very good when I damaged my other knee early last year and he worked wonders when Kyle was injured too, so it should be fine. So, will see him, then drive over to where we are having lunch with a couple of friends who didn`t make Sunday.

Tonight, going to sit down and make sure I have everyone`s cards and gifts for September, my busiest month for birthdays and anniversaries, I think I`m sorted but would hate to miss anyone.

So, no walking this morning, have to get the shorts on for the appointment later, but first a nice lazy breakfast for us as we don`t need to get out early today. At least the winds have finally gone, looks to be a lovely few days ahead for us.

Middle of the week again, days are trundling forward for sure!!!

With a feel like temp at 110 F this afternoon. Sticky feeling day in store, with stormy weather warnings in my phone today. And who do I see?



Why hello camel, doing the right thing in this very humid day. Wednesday is here, and hoping with the Monday holiday coming up, we get 59 minutes less on this Friday, that as get over this hump of a feeling day, and yay, that Friday before our three day weekend is then a day away. Woot!

Happy birthday to Keisha’s granddaughter.

23 tomorrow, can’t believe it, and she’s taller than me. Which isn’t hard to do. lol

Back to routine I go. They did fix the AC, and am not complaining it’s almost too cool in here. Better than the muggy 74 feeling like 79 outside. Overcast, but to burn off and be a full sunshine day soon enough. Excessive Heat Warning and Air Quality Alert both issued this morning.

Another super slow day today. I am trying to find things to keep me busy. The disadvantage of a small office.

I went to my Aunts funeral today. It was predicted she would pass and she did last week.

My condolences for your loss. Nice to reconnect with family. Just wish it was under better circumstances.

Charade you have inspired me to get more creative with my wardrobe. I ordered a couple of T-shirts for HHN.

Awesome. Those will look great with the new shoes.

It`s been such a lovely day here, nice and warm without being too hot, nice when we have things to do or places to go.

Physiotherapist appt went well, no damage to knee, some good manipulations from him and some exercises to do for a week alongside ice/heat treatment. Glad it was an easy fix.

Always enjoy chatting to him as he runs with Kyle and knows him well, says he has never seen Kyle run better than he is right now, always nice to hear other folks say nice things about our kids!

Then home and changed and out to lunch with some good friends, another belated birthday lunch, it was very nice and we had some good laughs alongside good food. So, no dinner needed tonight, might snack later if we need something.

A very good Thursday morning, and the sun is bursting in the sky here again today!! Might be the last few days of our glorious weather, but we`ll enjoy it while we can.

We have Elise for a couple of hours this morning, so I think we`ll bake unless she wants to do something in the garden, she loves nature including all creepy crawlies which I`ll never understand, but she enjoys rooting around to see what she can find, I`m hoping we bake!!!

Not much happening today after she goes, but early evening we`re going to watch Kyle as he has been asked to join an elite team do an event in a place not too far from us, so looking forward to seeing him take part in that, we`ll go early as parking is not the best and it does get busy. Least the weather is going to be lovely.

Will have dinner later when we get home, I have some gorgeous Scottish salmon, will cook it today and have it cold with some salad and coleslaw, thinking of roast beef open face sandwiches for lunch and good old poached egg and avocado for breakfast. Not walking again today, give the old knee a chance to recover from the manipulation yesterday!!

Tom is still asleep, will go up and give him a nudge later, Elise won`t be here for a little time yet, dad is dropping her off till grandma finishes work and picks her up, so time for another cuppa before I do.

Quick stop in!!!

Busy today in the unit. The casual gal is in today - and we are both busy today!!! I'll be going upstairs later to help onboard a new nurse. Always learning new things.

It was chilly this morning, but will warming up. The mornings have definitely been cool and warm days. I think we will be having out last hurrah of hot weather this weekend - which I am looking forward to.

Annnnnd it's Thursday - I didn't get to finish my post yesterday

Busy night last night. Whipped up some quick taco bowls for dinner, then we were busy gathering all our camping gear. Groceries are ordered, I will swing by the grocery store to pick them up on the way home. I will pack all the dry goods tonight, and get a few more ice packs ready, pack a few clothes...and then I'll be ready to go!!!! And I need to charge my kobo/kindle. I have an actual book I'm reading, but I think I will be finishing it over the weekend.

Annnnnnnnnd it's almost lunch! I've been a busy gal again today. There are always tasks that seem to be completed.

I am so bummed out today. Disney released their After hours event dates for 2025 and there are none during the week we will be there. We were so looking forward to this event. Well, I guess 2 of our nights are free now.

I hope you are able to find some things to fill your evenings.

It is always hard to loose a family member - no matter how old they are. May the memories you have comfort you when your heart is sad.

I'm soooo famously graceful - I twisted my ankle last night walking out of work. Just tripped over my own feet while trying to grab my sunglasses out of my purse I"m sooooooooo graceful!!!!!!!!!

Ouch, hope your ankle is ok!! My sister can fall over fresh air and has done many times! Yes, the knee is a little tender today, but taking it easy helps.

Glad you`re organised for the weekend, sounds like a lot of fun spending time with the family. Enjoy the book, I never could get to grips with a kindle, real books all the way for me.

Lovely day with Elise and grandma stayed for a while too when she came to pick her up. We didn`t bake, it was too nice so were outside for most of the morning.

She wanted to take this picture as she was amazed how yellow the leaves were turning! Can`t find the picture now!!!!

This afternoon after they left we went out and I got the final 3 birthday cards I need for next month, can`t believe I almost forgot one though!!! I`ve only known her 51 years lol.....

Went to watch Kyle run tonight, it was amazing, huge amount of folks were running and loads watching too, glad the weather was nice, warm with a little breeze. I haven`t heard the results yet as we left before it was announced, but he really enjoyed it and it was fun being there.

Back home for a cuppa and a choccie biscuit, KitKat for me!

Last full day @ DL. I made executive decision that we would do 8 am rope drop, enjoy our VQ of 2 today lol, and retreat to hotel for a few hours after noon. My feet will thank me.

I`m going to change it to a minimum of 12,000 steps after Florida, until the real winter hits of course!!! Then I make like a bear and hibernate

Same. I tell myself doing the stairs from main level of home to the upstairs bedrooms a few more times is good thing. I've been working up to at least 20 x a day 'extra'

A very good Friday morning! Another nice and sunny day here, not sun worshipping heat for us, mid to high 60`s but it will be glorious for the time of year.

We had a look at the fruit trees yesterday, they are starting to flourish, but definitely not as abundant as last year, plums are starting to show a yield but less apples than usual and the pears are a lot smaller than usual, guess this isn`t going to be a record yield for us. We still have the farm come pick them and take anything that`s there, they go to make pies and chutney`s which is nice as we always get a few of their products.

Today, nothing going on, waiting in for a parcel to be delivered, two bottles of rum, but not for us, they`re gifts so once that comes we`ll nip over to a farm store for some veg and fruit, despite it being so warm I`m going to make a large pot of soup as I have my first part of the dental implant being put in on Monday evening, so not the easiest to eat for a couple of days, so soup and ice cream for me!!

Avocado with a poached egg this morning, we have some rare roast beef so will have that for lunch with some salad and bread and dinner will be something with chicken breast!

Second cup of tea, mornings are getting a little more autumnal, not cold, but the change is there.

Happy Friday. I was supposed to have a medical appointment today, but that got rescheduled. I might do a little shopping instead. I think I need some rain boots. We had thunderstorms last night and may have more rain tomorrow. Tomorrow is the first football game of the season, so I would like to keep my feet dry if it does rain.

It's Friday - and I'm off early today to boot I'm sooooooo ready to be done with work for the day. I ALMOST pulled the trigger and took a mental health day - but the casual gal who is supposed to be in today is off as her kiddos are sick. And we are already short staffed. I didn't want to leave them extremely short handed today. So I dragged myself into work. Good thing I get to sit on my butt all day. I really don't have the energy to do much else today.

I am pretty much packed and ready to go for later today. It will be me and ds hitting the road in my Lola - dh is biting at the bit and wanting to leave earlier so he is leaving just after lunch. I'll wait for ds to be done work then we will hit the road. DD wants m eto make one last stop at a grocery store for one last idea she had for snacks - so I'll pick that up on the way out of town.

It has been a very strange year. It took FOREVER for my garden pots to start this year. Everything is at least 3 weeks behind. I tested one of potato pots - I'm leaving them grow for at least another 3 weeks. That particular pot didn't have nearly the harvest I had last year. I didn't do anything different from last year - so I don't know why this year seems like it's less. We definitely had a cooler summer. I am wondering if that had an effect? June was extremely cool - we had overnight frost advisories. July was hot, hot, hot, then Aug is meh.

I hate shoe shopping, but I do love a good prowl for new winter boots!!! But, agree, it`s not usually fun.

You would love it here today, very bright sunshine but there is a slight edge to that sunshine and now just after 5pm it is getting decidely cooler, yep, I think Autumn has arrived.

It`s funny you say that, our gardener said the other day a few folks veg and fruit are not as abundant as normal, I was glad it`s not just us, very disappointed particularly with the plums. So, no I don`t think it`s you either, nature does it`s own thing it seems. I know we had our heating on in July for two or three nights so yes, definitely cooler than previous years.

Yep, gorgeous day but a little almost chilly at times.

Rum arrived 2 minutes over the specified time, so we`ll forgive that. Why do they give you such silly times instead of 11-3, the email said 10.57am - 14.57pm!!!! How precise.

It was mid to late 60`sF today but that little chill is creeping in, we sat out in the garden for a time, but we had a throw over us, it was just nice being outside with a cup of tea as we don`t think we`ll get many more days like this after next week.

A little difference in the evergreen tree to the left and one that does shed it`s leaves, not sure the picture shows how brown the leaves actually are. It just seems so early for such a big change in our trees!!

Meanwhile....flowers are still flourishing which is pretty to see.

Another hour or so till dinner, Tom is taking some friends to the main train station to get their train to Heathrow for their overnight, heading to Barcelona for their wedding anniversary, they got married there so it`s a special place for them.

Made cajun chicken breasts for dinner, so will have some salad, coleslaw and baked some rosemary focaccia, I may have already nibbled a chunk with some spicy balsamic dip!!

Hope everyone is well this Friday afternoon. Marrow bones 24 hours into simmering up some stock for demi glace later. DW and I are planning to accelerate phase 2 of our semi retirement as we're both a little dodgy healthwise. We've never worked a traditional schedule but now we're going to vaca a little more. Marrying her and starting a business together ranks as one of my smartest moves for sure.

SW tomorrow, UO/IOA Sunday and taking off Monday.
Buddy with disability pass is coming again so no lines, no waiting.
Based on hotel capacities I saw while booking yesterday I'm not expecting an insane crowd.
We have 4 free SW tickets but everyone had weekend plans so we ended up 1 short.

I need to find a couple pair of comfy shorts for Florida - and I'm not sure where to look anymore. Now should be a good time to shop since summer stuff is going on clearance.

Dh has made an interesting suggestion. If we change our Disney trip to May we could take advantage of 2 of the after hours events. I'm not sure if I want to do that or not.

We could do the after hours events.
It's a little less expensive.

We would need to do a split stay. Most of the value resorts don't have availability the entire week we would be there.
The heat.

My husband took early retirement from his business at 57, best move he ever made. He was one of the bosses, so not in a physical job but it could be stressful, you can never retire too early in our opinion.

Forgive me, I forget when your first trip was? May is lovely, one of our favourite times to go, but we love the heat. But, sounds like you`re not sure, it`ll work out the way it`s supposed to.





At the risk of sounding like mrs doom and gloom, it`s 7.30 now and downright chilly! Not cold, but it is autumn I don`t care what anyone says..........is it too early for winter clothes buying yet...lol.....obviously not!!

I did order three Christmas presents today, early, but they are perfect for the recipients.

Lamps will be on in around half an hour I think, sitting with a cuppa and Tom`s just popped the second pot in front of me, trying not to think of the goodies tucked away!!

Spending the afternoon with Kyle tomorrow, hopefully get some balcony time at his place as it is supposed to be another lovely day. He runs in the morning, we`ll be over to his place and we`ll go somewhere near him for lunch, then Sunday he runs a 10K in the morning and over here in the afternoon for the Grand Prix, weekend sorted.

Busy morning!!!! I wish the casual gal was here. But I got most of it done now.

My back for some reason is killing me today. I have a massage booked again for next Friday. I am really looking forward to it! I found a new lady - who is AMAZING!!!! She also seems to have appts that work well for when I am able to take time away from work for appointments. I do try to be considerate - and book my appointments for when it is slower in the unit. Thursday and Friday afternoons are typically not as busy.

Watching some youtube videos on Epcot food & wine. We will want to try a few things while we are there - but ds's don't want to spend the whole day there. So if I know ahead of time what I think/know we want, we can hit them up as we go around.

34 days and counting!!!! I am soooo stinking excited lol I don't know who is more excited - me or ds's.
