My frame arrived today. Here is my most recent cross stitch project.

It's that either taco or tequila Tuesday - depending on how your day goes So far - it's a taco Tuesday for me!

It's a cool crisp day here again. It's a tad breezy - which is making it cooler. But the sun is shinning bright so I'm soaking up all the sunlight. It gets dark early now. So need to soak up all the sunlight I can.

I was too tired to do anything last night. I whipped up a yummy supper ( french onion chicken, roasted potato wedges and green beans) and that was it! It was a sit in my spot and just veg. I'm not sure what or why - but I was just tuckered out.

Tonight - I'm not sure if I'm on the hook for cooking tonight. Our niece is in another play - and we have tickets for tonight. She is " the Dodo" in Alice and Wonderland. I can't wait to see how well they do this one. And here I didn't think I would like the local productions they do here.

Hahaha my guy doesn’t have his papers, trained electrical & plumbing in service. I finally bought two that work off internet & re-chargeable battery.

I have threatened that I will hire his company to come in an install those for me! And when they ask for my credit card - I'll tell them to go talk to dh just down the hall from them Or just hand them to my boys who are electricians in training and get them to install them for me.

Salmon for dinner tonight, turkey sandwiches for lunch and yep, toast with preserves this morning, coming right up as I hear sleeping beauty get up. Going to be cooler than yesterday so might have a jacket on today.

The weather is slowly getting cooler Your winters are milder than ours - but still...cold is cold! It's definitely time for grabbing a jacket in the mornings.

Well, I started this post this morning. Papers are shuffled, and not much left to do today. Looks like paper shredding will fill my afternoon. Tomorrow, Thus and Friday I'm at my homecare job then it's off to the city for our Thanksgiving long weekend here.

Yes, we don`t get the heat/cold extremes of the USA/Canada thankfully. But, mornings and evenings are cool. In saying that the sun was shining all day and I got a load of washing out, dried, ironed and put away, unusual for October, but the change is coming.

lol....it`s never taco day for me!! Although tequila is more a Saturday drink than a Tuesday drink I suppose.....depends though lol.......

Good Tuesday afternoon everyone

Movies again tonight and opened a bottle of tequila we’ve had for a while, brought it back from Orlando about 4 years ago……made up my own cocktail that was a mixture of tequila sunrise and a margarita. Used Triple Sec, pineapple juice and grenadine……lovely.

Those cocktails look delicious. I think I could use one of those about now.

Glad you had a lovely day Robbie, spending time with family and friends is always priceless, and glad they enjoyed their gifts from HHN!! And nothing nicer than sharing food we`ve cooked, everyone loves that.

Thank you Carole. We had a wonderful visit. The girls loved their backpacks and everyone loved their HHN T-shirts.

I agree sharing a home cooked meal with our family and friends is wonderful.

How does one place a compensatory $ value on a wedgie?

Unbelievable the lengths that people will go to to get money.

So apparently we encroached onto his property by about 2-3 feet. Dh did check our lot with the county, but our landscaper went back a little too far. The border was not clearly marked like the neighbor said it was. He only took out a few dead trees, but the neighbor acted as if he had cut down nice, live ones. I think he just saw the opportunity to get some new trees. They are his responsibility now. Oh, guess what the neighbor does for a living. He owns a landscaping company. I know who not to hire now.

Sounds like you and your landscaper were more then kind under the circumstance.

I got some baking done. I whipped up some bread, some tasty cheesy garlic buns, and last night was make your own pizza night - with homemade dough. I will say - they all came out quite tasty. I used a different recipe for the loaves of bread - and I think I'll be using that one going forward. The cheesy garlic buns went great with the chicken stew I made on Saturday night.

Wow….Your baking sounds wonderful. I need a good recipe for bread. Not sure I have found the perfect one yet.

I've always wanted a vacuum sealer. It looks like it works great!

I bought this one at Cotsco. I will work with it for awhile and report back.

Lol you’d think. Actually, who wears a loose bathing sort of any sort to a waterpark...or ever for that matter. Lycra & spandex is where it’s at, anything to help suck in my floppier bits

Don’t know much about astronomy, for some reason it always seems as tho the night fall skies are perfect for viewing things. Full moon probably helped the cause. Jupiter looked so bright the other night, felt like I could reach out and grab it. Very cool

I love stargazing. So good to hear there are many more that enjoy it too.

I did laugh when after another 62 minutes on the phone he asked if I was happy with the outcome today and would I recommend them to others......

It is mind boggling that something so simple should be so hard for them to fix.

But, dinner was lovely, lightly baked salmon with garlic and rosemary parmentier potatoes and some roasted veg. Nice.

Well I have been having issues with my left foot I broke this summer since I have been home. After returning home from my trip I went out in the yard and did some things and the next day I woke up I could hardly stand on my left foot.

I had this foot in a fracture boot this summer for a stress fracture on top my foot and Plantar Fasciitis. I know I can never have one thing at a time it seems.

While on our trip I did keep my foot taped and kept my new supports in my shoes. I also kept my foot rubbed down with some of the Blue Emu roll on my sister had.

So I held out that if I took it easy for a week all would be well.

The swelling has never totally gone down on the top of my foot and I still had some longterm bruising to the two toes that the metatarsal bone I fractured leads to.

Saw Podiatrist today and I’am back in the fracture boot. Pain is all the way through to the ball of my foot. Time will tell.

I’am glad I got my HHN vacation in. Not so glad to be back in boot. I will be forced to take it easy now.

The Fall Festival is going on here now for a week. It is a big event locally here. They have lots of food booths, carnival rides entertainment etc…The Podiatrist said that the local GI docs would be busy with all the folks that would be eating all the fried foods and exotic foods served there. I had never thought of that.

I chuckled when I saw this picture that my sister K posted of little J when he was about 1 year old. My niece B his mom had put a Michael Myers door poster on one of her slider doors to her patio 3 years ago during Halloween. Little J was looking at it like “oh so what” “ it is just Mikey”.



I have been working in my office trying to get things put away. I did get some Christmas presents I bought on this trip wrapped and put away. I have a few Birthday gifts to wrap. There is always things to do for sure.

I saw one of the Doe’s in the backyard today. She had come up looking for food. So I need to get some dry corn and water out for the deer. That will be my project this evening.

After that appointment which is early thank goodness, get it out of the way, have some shopping to do and maybe a little clothes shopping as a treat!!

Kyle is joining us for dinner tonight and has asked for home made beefburgers, so will make them this afternoon, with coleslaw, little salad and chunky chips. They have a burger bun with them, I don`t

Then, will start to go finish the email contacts and all the businesses I have my email with, try to get them changed too. Doesn`t look the nicest day out there, very breezy despite the sunshine.

Might not have any breakfast this morning and pop into a cafe afterwards for something, we have butternut squash & sweet potato soup for lunch, made with carrots, celery, peppers, leeks, garlic herbs and seasonings all blended together and will add a little cream before serving, it is beautiful. I roast all the veg except leeks before blending which adds more flavour.

Time for tea though.

Yes,I agree with that camel. Wahoo, a Wednesday is here, the day we say get over this hump of a day feeling day, and well Friday then a day away. And I’m so ready for it to be a Friday this week.

85 degrees the high today. Woot! Warmest this week, but I’ll take it. Sunny conditions will persist throughout the day. Yay! Any nice warm day like today in our early Fall is so appreciated.

Robo, hope your foot heals quickly. Sending that mummy dust filled with lots of well wishes your way. Rest is a great way to spend today.

It is the left foot thank goodness. So not issues driving.

Going to the Dentist is not one of my favorite things to do.

Might not have any breakfast this morning and pop into a cafe afterwards for something, we have butternut squash & sweet potato soup for lunch, made with carrots, celery, peppers, leeks, garlic herbs and seasonings all blended together and will add a little cream before serving, it is beautiful. I roast all the veg except leeks before blending which adds more flavour.

Time for tea though.

I have a pedicure appt this morning in a little while. Will enjoy that. Just no massaging the left foot.

Grandson and family from Kentucky coming in for a visit tomorrow afternoon. So need to make sure I have things in the house to serve for the visit. Need to have a look in the freezer and pantry.

Washed my hair last night and it was just a tad damp when I went to bed. I woke up looking like the Bride of Frankenstein…LOL..thank goodness for good hair straighteners.

Good morning. I am sitting here trying not to nod off at my desk. I woke up at 4:30 and could not get back to sleep. Maybe I can take a short nap at lunch.

I’m also enjoying the beautiful weather we are having. Today is sunny and warm, but not very humid. On Saturday it’s supposed to drop into the 60s.


Robo - Prayers for quick healing for the foot.

I was going to start stitching a new project for B, but the pattern calls for a specific type of thread. That thread has been discontinued, so I thought I could get similar colors from a different brand. That thread has been discontinued too. I found a place online that still has some stock left of the colors I need, so I placed an order. However, I neglected to pay attention to where it was coming from. My thread is currently at the Heathrow Worldwide Distribution Center. I’m looking for small projects to work on until my thread arrives.

It`s always hard to hear that it`s going to take time, I don`t think we are designed to be patient, but hope it heals quickly and you can get back to normal routine.

Yes, I loathe the dentist, we`re lucky we do have good dentists, and when our original one retired, I was worried, but I like this man, however......impressions are just the worst, give me an injection any day over those!

lol...yes, thank goodness for hair straighteners, that dry straw like look in the morning is never good, wouldn`t be without them.

Yes, dentist went ok, had to get the impressions done twice, of course it had to be mine, but managed it ok and now need to wait till Halloween to get the process started.

So change of plans, we did go clothes shopping, Tom got a few pairs of trousers and I picked up a dress that caught my eye, then instead of going home for my home made soup, some friends had called to say we should meet for lunch.....well, it would be rude to say no. So we met them and as we were having Kyle over for dinner tonight we shared a seafood platter, so it wasn`t too filling.

Burgers are made, just getting everything else sorted now, some sides and get the table set up for us.

Getting hungry now, looking forward to eating tonight. Cuppa tea I think for now.

Oh one of my friends has opened a FB account, originally to do with her job as she is a lecturer in a University, I don`t think any of our friends have FB, not that I know of anyway. She is hilarious, sending us all txts every so often filled with news and stories she`s read and everything is "unbelievable" This is going to be torture till she bores of it!!!

Good Thursday morning, going to be a decent day here, albeit very windy!!

We were rudely awakened just after midnight with the smoke alarm at the top of the upstairs landing going off maniacally, we jumped up but there was nothing thankfully. When the battery is low and it needs changing it usually bleeps gently for a time, but this was a full blown screeching that wouldn`t stop.

Checked every room, no reason for it. Will get a new one today, we check them and the carbon monoxide detector every month as instructed, so maybe this one is faulty, certainly gave us a start and took forever to get back to sleep.

But, got back over and then woke at 5am and decided I was wide awake, so got up and pottered around, made a pot of tea and caught up on some stuff before thinking I should really go back to bed, this is silly, but stayed up.

Going to do some shopping today and pleased I don`t need to take the dress back I bought yesterday, no changing rooms anymore in this store, but where Tom got his trousers, they have changing rooms.

No idea what I`m doing for dinner tonight, lunch will be the soup we were supposed to have yesterday and might just buy some bread from our village bakery on the way home to go with that.

Cuppa tea time again, need it this morning to wake me up properly!

Ugh, starting next year three days in office. This one commute was annoying. When your windows get fogged and you can’t get a clear window even before I parked. Good thing not much on the road at the hour I commute. Should have clear windows by the time I look at the car when I do my lunchtime walk. Forgot where I put my sunglasses, but little one left hers in the car. Hehe, I’ll use hers until I get home and find mine.

Car goes into shop tomorrow, so DH will take older one to work, while little one and I use his car to follow me. Then we will get to enjoy driving around in his car until mine is done. Yay. May stop to see my sister, as she’s closer to the car place than we are. But we like the shop, and they always seem to do a good job. Asked the other day if could fit me in, and he said yesterday, no problem. So glad he could do the required maintenance quickly, as car always reminds me now to do so.

And so, for some reason, maybe because it’s Thirsty Thursday? I was so thirsty when I got into my office. Hence, need to refill my tea mug soon.

Lastly, weather. Ah those summer like weather we have been having, ends today. Rain in the forecast later today, as cold front from the Midwest is arriving. And dipping the temps to be highs in low 60’s starting the new week on Sunday. Sniff. Time to start to get those shorts put away.

All the stores have Fall and Winter clothing now. And yes, that Christmas creep is also happening, with not much Halloween stuff anymore, and poor Thanksgiving, barely see anything for it. But there is still lots of Halloween candy and pumpkins still seen.

So all have a most Terrific Thirsty Thursday today. Keep those drinks ready. PSA, always good to keep hydrated.

Heading out to pick up 80# of cat litter that WM forgot to put in trunk yesterday for the grand cats

Need to break down the packages of Sam’s club chicken & ground chicken into serving sizes, then take up to jrs. Looking forward to playing with the grand cats

I made that statement, complaining after being told I needed another, at the dental specialist I went for consult few years back

Turns out, this year only found one pair I thot was $ store cheap knockoffs & just tossed them, hurriedly.

I think this has been the slowest work week in a long time. I just finished everything I have to do for today and there’s still 1.5 hours left until lunch.

Tonight we have a football game. It seems weird to be going to one on a Thursday.

Yes, I loathe the dentist

I am one of the weird people who don’t mind going to the dentist, but I’ve also never needed any serious dental work. Poor dh is in the process of getting 6 crowns.

We were rudely awakened just after midnight with the smoke alarm at the top of the upstairs landing going off maniacally, we jumped up but there was nothing thankfully. When the battery is low and it needs changing it usually bleeps gently for a time, but this was a full blown screeching that wouldn`t stop.

I hate it when we forget to change the batteries. Last time it happened B was home alone. She had never dealt with the alarms before so she had to call dh at work and have him walk her through the process.

Lastly, weather. Ah those summer like weather we have been having, ends today.

I think we are supposed to have one more nice day tomorrow and then rain and much cooler on Saturday. I guess it’s a good thing that our football game is tonight.

I need to go find something to keep me occupied.

Sweet, DH asked to go out to dinner with me. Ended up at the one deli we both like, and both of us are stuffed. Was delicious.

Alarm turned off. DH usually gets up before it even goes off. Mainly because he goes to sleep hours before me.

Ah Friday is hours away now. Yay for the holiday Monday. Like having bonus Friday taken off, so four day weekend. Woot!
