Something About Nothing............ #14

Loving this sunshine!!!

Good morning. Today is a typical Friday for me - errands and house cleaning. Tonight dh and I will go to dinner to celebrate our anniversary. The actual date is tomorrow, but he made other plans. I’m slightly annoyed because I have planned my Universal trips around our anniversary. He’s doing something with his martial arts class tomorrow.

Yes, it probably would be better for you. Our March trips were never mobbed, we didn`t see huge SB crowds in either trip that one of our friends saw in the previous February when they were there, maybe we were lucky.
April is usually the worst month since that is when the younger students are off. We went to Disney and Universal in April 2019 with B’s high school band. I stood in a lot of long lines then, but I also got to utilize the single rider lanes.

And will probably park hop later, as walked on almost every ride, now chilling after a nice park breakfast.
Wow, walk ons at Disney are almost unheard of.
Wishing you a safe flight home.

Loving this sunshine!!!
Beautiful picture.

I just finished cleaning the main bathroom and was going to take a shower, but B got in before I could.
After lunch I need to make a trip to Hobby Lobby to get supplies for my next stitching project. I am going to be making a cute dragon picture for B.

Charade you will have a lovely time celebrating your anniversary tonight.
It’s okay for the day prior as many prefer to avoid the large crowds that happen on Saturday for dining out.

We avoid Saturday night dinners out unless it is an eat in at Taco Bell
🤪

Howdy. Middle DS shared his FB team’s current stomach bug with me. Thot a 24 hr one & it came crawling back. Thot I was done with those back to school bug things lol.

Managed to get to lil’s soccer game, 7-8th grade team finished undefeated. Rained whole game. Bleech. Back to same field to see the Germ-y boys tonight. Shoukd be a beautiful fall
Evening this go ‘round

Curious minds want to know how keisha got on today! Hope that rain went off and the day went well!!
🤔
1. I did it

2. Got a free brew and managed to stay reasonably dry.

Yes, I do like the Universal Monsters. The house really grew on me. I saw some different new SA’s in different areas of the house I had not noticed before. It was one of those houses that you needed to go into a number of times to appreciate.
I’m hoping for some great run thru’s for the fam as likely only one shot
have been debating on taking a photo of my shopping haul….I had to fold down my seats in the back of my SUV to get our luggage and all our shopping back home.
Of course you should share. My DH is afraid my local haunts will fail as I’ve not been shopping for over a month.
Hello chip! I see dale lurking in background lol
hate cleaning!! But, I seem to very good at it, and according to my friends I am a little OCD with cleaning and housework.....
And you say that like it’s wrong lol.
I know just enough to get by in the garden
Lol I’ve been told I’m dangerous around plants. Tend to love ‘em to death with too much water and aggressive pruning, trying to fashion one too many topiaries over the years
Had a Fantasmic time:

Always a fun show, and we had a great day, with just some light rain around dinner time, then ar oh and 8 pm.

Almost ready for bed.

Glad to hear Robo made it home safely.
Nice shot. We were thrilled to enjoy that soecial
Showing last trip. I’ve never seen it only 1/3rd full
Fun fact - Holds almost 10k when there are 2K standing
Sad to read David McCallum has passed.
Indeed. Haven’t really seen much of his recent work
We caught our limit a whole lot faster than we thought we were going to - and we had a fun day on the lake together.
Awesome
We`ve had some lovely folks speak to staff in the club lounge saying they know us through the Trip reports and that is always lovely.....but for this man to outright tell people we are friends is nonsense!!!
Not only is that creepy, I find it distasteful that others would try to ride on your coat tails that way.
I’m thinking late January or sometime in February when it’s not so hot.
After nye crowd, it’s slow until MLK.

Late Jan U used to have a HP thing?

pro bowl 1st weekend in Feb

a bump over Presidents’ Day/Daytona 500

Spring break for most starting earlier first & 2nd weeks of March

St Patrick’s day & Easter early this year, March 17 & 30th

One thing I’ve noticed, specifically at USO…the placement of the lake really tends to cool down that immediate area in park. Far more than, say, Epcot or SW for some reason

You never know what you are going to get weather wise there. We had a week in early April a few years ago much cooler than our temps at home!

Yesterday had salon appointment myself. I needed it as my hair color seemed to wash out earlier then usual
You looked fine, esp considering that weather we had

Happy birthday to little J

Remembering Michael Gambon the Actor who played Albus Dumbledore.
Starting to think if I were an actor, might pass on the role. That’s 2-2 so far
Countdown to our trip is at 7 weeks, it`s creeping up now! And not surprised to see the stores adorned with Christmas itmes now, not as you enter at least, they do have some Halloween items for sale, but it`s just not a huge thing over here generally.
Woohoo

I do think they should at least put the seasonal stuff in different aisles
Ooh National Coffee Day
Doing my part!
He’s doing something with his martial arts class tomorrow.

I do think U is often far less crowded than the hordes at WDW -whom I think still does a good job of keeping people in their particular bubble

3 park day champions. Decided to end in Epcot with lots of others bailing from 6 pm toss ya out, for MK. We drove from AK, after catching a MK bus within minutes at lunchtime to snack at our resort for lunch. Then decided driving was easier than buses, and fun fact, there’s a MD’s right outside the gate to our resort. They are open until midnight. I can see us stopping there on way back to get some ice cream treats. Mobile pick up drive the other day was easy.

Then Tetris packing we have to do. Can’t load up the car like Robo. Little one said we may have to buy another suitcase. I’m not sure. We shall see tomorrow.

I blinked and it was Friday!!!!

Worked the last 2 days at my homecare care job. I don't know if it's my luck - but I AKWAYS get the days that are stupid crazy busy. I think it's because it was a full-moon nights. Yikes - even my manager came down to my desk when she was leaving and commented about the day and how our console of shifts seemed to light up with people either sick or cancelling their shifts. All I can say is - I was happy to leave yesterday. I love the job as it's challenging - but yesterday was a whole other level.

Cool, cloudy grey day here today. We can definitely tell that that dreaded swear " s" word will be coming sooner rather than later

Slow day at work here. Everything is caught up. I will be shredding after this.

Not much is planned for the weekend. It's an at home weekend - and I'm alright with that. Just putter around, maybe do a little baking as well. An old gf from when we first got married 30 years ago - she is in town right now - under horrible circumstances. Her nephew died in an MVA last weekend. Her sister lives here and she is here now to spend a few weeks with her sister. So I think I'll do a little baking to take over to their home. I thought about having a meal delivered to their home as well - or take something more over too. I can't decide what to do. I'll sleep on it a little more.
I started back going to the local ladies gym.
I am good for going a few times a week.
It’s not very busy but will be when the weather gets cooler.
 for you!!! That's great! I also started back at the gym last week. I made it there twice last week. This week - so far 3 nights. I'm thinking I'll go tomorrow afternoon too. I was planning tonight - but I'm tired!

I hope you are on the mend now. I seemed to have picked up a little something. Not enough for me to stay home or that I feel like I need to be on meds or anything. But I have that slight sore throat, heaviness in the chest and a little stuffed up. I will pick up anything and everything. I seem to be that person.

Well, I should get to doing that shredding.

Have a great evening everyone!

It’s a good one! Always do mobile order, especially in night after parks as the drive thry line can get scary

We generally take a full size empty duffle when flying swa, a jik carry on Depending how kind the outlets were on any given trip lol
So I think I'll do a little baking to take over to their home. I thought about having a meal delivered to their home as well - or take something more over too. I can't decide what to do. I'll sleep on it a little more.
Either is a very thoughtful gesture that will be much appreciated. Surprising it seems to have fallen out of favor

Good Frightday evening everyone :scared1:

IMG_2382.gif

m sure his celebrations will be a lot of fun, everyone loves a party!!!
Thank you Carole. He is going to have a Minion themed party,

Very sad to hear about Michael Gambon, have watched many of his works over the years, most young folks will know him from Harry Potter, but he was so much more. A face from my childhood for sure and will be sadly missed.
I will have to go and look for some of his other movies.

Happy belated birthday to J.
Thank you Charade

It will be here before you know it.

Now sitting with the bi-fold doors wide open enjoying the heat without the breeze, never expected to be doing that today and next weekend looks to be even warmer. Might try and organise a late bbq.
Glad to hear you all are getting some warm weather to enjoy. I will admit I’am looking forward to some cooler weather here.

Loving this sunshine!!!
Beautiful photo.

Nice photo of you and your hubby and your cute granddaughter. Congratulations to her and her soccer team for going undefeated.

Had some errands to complete today. Had to go by Lowes for one of them and saw this monsterous Zombie Animatronic. Did I push the bottom over and over yep. It was creepy. You can get an idea how tall this thing is because it towers over the top shelf’s of the Halloween displays.

IMG_8084.jpeg

I did make a big pot of chicken noodle soup this evening. I will have plenty to share with the family,

I did get most of my errands done today. A couple tomorrow then all caught up.

Have a wonderful Friday evening everyone.

You did good M`lady!!!! Lovely picture of the three of you and yes, the rain sounded awful, runners tend not to notice it....or so I`m told!!! But, it can`t be fun when you get soaked.

And huge congrats to GD.....her team must be so proud of their run of wins!!! Is she excited for next week?? Although I think I know the answer.....

Yes, I find it creepy and yes, distasteful......I know many folks from the TR who do say they have heard about things from us to the staff and that`s always lovely and the staff enjoy hearing that too, but to claim to be good friends?????? What`s that all about!!! Sadly not the first time.

Love the husband and wife meme........ :-)

Hope last night was fun too!!!

Minion themed parties are fun!!

Michael Gambon did a lot of theatre and tv, most famous to us in the UK as the Singing Detective and Maigret back in the day. He had a tremendous reputation in this country before he was Dumbledore and a rather unusual private life, but was always seen as a very nice and much admired man.

Chicken noodle soup is one of my favourite soups to make, full of goodness and so tasty.

Have a lovely weekend too Robbie.....

Watching the baseball game and trying to read up on the posts here in the sans at the same time

Did the cats wait.......😉

Had a lovely Friday evening, just me and the mister, watched a couple of movies with some wine which was lovely. Slept like a top again, but then I usually do. Although didn`t get as much done as I hoped yesterday, never got round to sorting out books for donation, that might have been deliberate :rolleyes1 so might make an effort today to get that sorted. Maybe.

Looks to be a lovely day here, rain due this evening sometime I think and not too windy this morning so might get out a walk, although will have a fleecy on as it is chillier than of late, popped my head out and it is indeed autumnal. Looks lovely though now the sun is up.

No idea what we`re doing for the rest of the day, poached eggs and toast for breakfast and lots of tea as always. Our lovely farmer dropped us off another 30 eggs yesterday morning, followed by a txt asking if we wanted more as the hens are laying like crazy right now. So, it`ll be baking for me tomorrow I think.

Might get Chinese takeout tonight, haven`t quite decided yet, will see what Tom fancies doing later. Time for more tea first.....might take him up a cup, nothing quite like a cuppa in bed!

Hoping our lovely Maria (worfiedoodles) is having a wonderful time in Hawaii celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary!!! What a fabulous place to celebrate in...... 🎉 🥂

Ah, the weekend is here, and the ending of our fun. Showers and that packing in earnest, then the last of the fun at the other park, as gotta use those passes at least for a few hours.

We had a great time, mostly nice and hot weather. Only one night was a washout, and actually made a good night relaxing in our room, and taking a tour of our resort. While we thought there was crowds at times, particularly thick on Friday nights, Epcot country areas the most, the stand by lines were very manageable, and almost walk ons on every ride during the early entry half hour, into the first hour or so of the opening time. The longest was Avatar, with 30 minutes wait, including the four and a half minutes the ride took. We made it our first priority on early entry, and by the time we got out, it showed 90 minutes. Same with slinky dog. One and dove with both. We thought Tron was okay, but both of us like the Guardians ride better. We thought Tron seemed a bit short. We also liked the virtual queues, but we liked the Guardians one better, as it gave actual time you’d be able to enter the line, as Tron only gave a group number, and by the second time, we got better as figuring out what time we would ride. That ride was down a couple of times, which made our first ride late in the evening, with a 1 pm reservation got. The first time we tried at 7 am was on the weekend. The second was on a week day, and we got a 14 earlier lead group number at 7 am that day.

The Mickey train ride was cute, but only if you get a 20 minutes or less wait. We managed three times, could have been four, but ride was declared not working, so was not the last ride of our night. Same with the rat ride in France. Cute, and only managed two rides, during early entry. Walked on during the week day, and had a 15 minute wait our other weekend early entry to that park. Agree with that too, would not wait much longer than 20 minutes or so. Thought was short for the length of the ride.

Scored in the two Disney outlets, and in the Garage Sale. Bought a few Mickey’s party exclusives, and some in all the parks, though not in every park. Had some nice meals, and with the okay meal at M. Melrose, we scored the closest short 4 seat directly in the middle, seats, with waiting a little early with our Fantasmic meal tickets. Little one still talks about his great the seats were. Right at the rail, no one in front of us. Could see all the characters so close on the boats. One of our favorite shows. We balked at the prices for both the eat to the beat, and the Epcot night show. None of the acts we thought were something we’d be interested in, but we did stop and hear a bit of one, as easy to hear just fine outside the theater. And we had a good spot to watch the fireworks at end of night at Epcot, so we were glad not to have spent the too high save spot meal prices we thought did for both.

So a most wonderful Weekend to all, and a super happy Saturday. Hope Keisha is feeling better, and hope Charade have a very happy wedding anniversary, today.

To all the Sans family. Have a wonderful Saturday

I am behinded on my emails, sorry.

I’ve decided my stomach must’ve ”broke” in Orlando Every time I declare it ok, it decides to disagree.

Think I may go on a liquid fast for day or two Monday if it doesn’t finally settle completely down. Could’ve just been one too many odd dishes over the trip that stirred things up?

today, even though in the glorious mid-70’s, decided to use up some semisweet choc chips that were expiring soon, into cookies they went. Family running thru them quickly. It’s been awhile since i made any cookies.

figured as long as the oven was on, why not use up some of the bushel of apples I bought last week…into an apple crisp they went. Will be sampling that later tonight, hoping there’s vanilla ice cream in the deep freeze.

air frying chicken wings for dinner, sorta healthy if you squint.

DS has to use up his domino points offers, alerted me the delivery guy will be dropping package on the porch in an hour or so. will be difficult not to sample just a bit of this & that there.

And i wonder why my stomach is iffy :tilt::crazy:

decided to do a trip countdown for “the kids”

that’s an awesome trip!
We thought Tron seemed a bit short.
that’s an understatement

tron = 2 minutes

GoG = 3.20 minutes

was surprised to see U’s Velocicoaster is also only 2 min, seems longer to me

Had some nice meals, and with the okay meal at M. Melrose,

Haven’t dined there in over 20 years after a bowl of congealed spaghetti and brunt steak plopped down in front of us. A shame, as it’s so lovely inside.

My email was out for half the day, still can’t get it on my laptop, but can get it on my iPads and phone…..crazy.

Hoped you’d be back to normal by now with the tummy……yes, liquid diets are not fun……hopefully it’ll settle tonight. Glad last night was good though.

Home made cookies are always nice……never had Domino’s in the US, over here they are overpriced garbage! Our local pizza places are half the price and a million times better. One of my friends gave me a recipe for soft cookies, Baileys white choc chip, sounds lovely, will make a load on Monday and hand them into Kyle’s office Tuesday, there may be one or two missing of course!

Hope tonight you can eat better and feel back to normal soon. It’s next Saturday you fly out isn’t it?

Afternoon of black and white movies, Universal monsters today, Thai takeout tonight, ordered too much as usual but we like a nice choice of dishes.

Movies again tonight and opened a bottle of tequila we’ve had for a while, brought it back from Orlando about 4 years ago……made up my own cocktail that was a mixture of tequila sunrise and a margarita. Used Triple Sec, pineapple juice and grenadine……lovely.

IMG_2898.jpeg

Rain is off, no wind so looks like a quiet night ahead, not cold either so windows will be open again through the night.

Quiet day planned tomorrow again, might have a late sleep again……nothing like an early morning snuggle!!!

Giggy gig, back home again. Seems a little disheveled at home, but what can you expect from two guys on their own. And older one said his chargers cracked lit, so he took my two for my iPad and phone. Guess I need to go shopping tomorrow. Sigh. And doing wash.

Bags came out fast. Don’t know why my city airport gets a bad rap about baggage handling. Fast they usually are. Unlike most of the time MCO has had me wait and wait. Our champagne bottle survived in the checked bag, intact, and was thankful. The Costco down there has alcohol in the store, a whole big segment of it. We have none in ours where I live. So, just had to try the Champagne, France made of Costco’s brand. Will let ya know how it tastes.

Got my pajamas on, and so ready or bed. Hope you feel better tomorrow, Keisha.

And a very good early morning from a UK!! And it`s October already, I swear September flew by faster than we could imagine!

Had our last September birthday and anniversary yesterday, October brings only a couple of birthdays for us, two of my godchildren and a couple of cousins and I don`t think we have any anniversaries.

Today, catch up day with phone calls this afternoon hopefully to one of the cousins in NY and some buddies too. We don`t need any groceries so don`t plan to go out anywhere, going to be a nice day and in the mid 70`s which is unusual for us in October, but we`ll take it.

Weirdly, I have a winter warming dish for dinner tonight, marinaded diced beef overnight in ale, this morning popped it in the slow cooker with added beef stock, finely diced onion, garlic and some ground black pepper and other seasoning, it`ll simmer away all day then thicken it up so it has a gorgeous gravy, bake some puff pastry and make a lovely Scottish style steak pie with mashed potatoes and veg. We have Kyle for dinner tonight but think he may be expecting a barbecue with this weather!!

Eggs Benedict this morning, once Tom gets up we`ll enjoy that, he makes a lovely egg, but I make the sauce. Butternut squash and sweet potato soup for lunch if we feel like it.

But, lovely, lazy Sunday for me and my mister....will potter around a little and try to get to those books and maybe a closet or two if the mood takes me. And bake, we have so many eggs from the far, we`ll never eat them all, so will bake some things and hand them into Kyle`s office tomorrow and some for the farm.

But, time for a pot of tea and may go back to bed before Tom gets up, I was up far too early this morning for no good reason.

Have a lovely Sunday whatever you may be doing!

Good morning. I am up way too early for a Sunday. The cat woke me around 5:30. I tried to get back to sleep but got a nosebleed. I can’t remember when or if I have ever had one before. I finally got that under control but now it’s almost time for me to get up and start the day.

We had a nice anniversary dinner on Friday. We went to one of my favorite restaurants. Didn’t really do anything yesterday. We had a guy come to clear out the back of our backyard. It had become very overgrown.

Now our backyard neighbor is angry with us. Apparently he liked the overgrowth because it hid our property from his. He claimed we took out some of his trees (we didn’t) and threatened to call the sheriff and charge us with trespassing. Dh and the lawn guy talked to him and agreed to plant a few new trees on his property that will cover the open area. You can’t even see his house from our yard.

Happy anniversary one day early Charade!
Thank you.

Howdy. Middle DS shared his FB team’s current stomach bug with me. Thot a 24 hr one & it came crawling back. Thot I was done with those back to school bug things lol.
Hope you are feeling better today.

After nye crowd, it’s slow until MLK.

Spring break for most starting earlier first & 2nd weeks of March

St Patrick’s day & Easter early this year, March 17 & 30th
I was thinking we may have to wait until Thanksgiving, but then realized that is a blockout week for seasonal pass holders. It’s difficult to schedule vacation around dh’s work schedule. We either have to do spring break, summer, thanksgiving week, or December.

Cool, cloudy grey day here today. We can definitely tell that that dreaded swear " s" word will be coming sooner rather than later
Too soon to think about that though I wonder if we will get any this year. We got none last year.

So I think I'll do a little baking to take over to their home. I thought about having a meal delivered to their home as well - or take something more over too. I can't decide what to do. I'll sleep on it a little more.
I’m sure anything you do will be much appreciated.

Happy anniversary! I hope you have a great night out together.
Thank you.

Hope you had a nice dinner out last night and Happy Anniversary for today!!
Thank you.

We also liked the virtual queues, but we liked the Guardians one better, as it gave actual time you’d be able to enter the line,
How did you like the Guardians ride? I hear it makes some people sick, but I don’t mind spinning rides.

hope Charade have a very happy wedding anniversary, today.
Thank you.

Charade and her hubby. Hope hope you had a wonderful evening celebrating your anniversary.
Thank you.

today, even though in the glorious mid-70’s, decided to use up some semisweet choc chips that were expiring soon, into cookies they went.

If anyone needs me I will be at Keisha’s house.

Almost time for me to get up. After church today we are going to a surprise anniversary party for a couple from church. They have been married for 50 years.

Good Sunday morning Sans family :wave2:

Janet hope the intestinal issues resolve for you soon. Love the Eleven count down.

It did seem like a fast September for sure.

Dinner sounds delicious.

Eggs Benedict is my favorite breakfast. Don’t make it very often. It is a treat.

But, time for a pot of tea and may go back to bed before Tom gets up, I was up far too early this morning for no good reason.

Have a lovely Sunday whatever you may be doing!
You and your family have a wonderful Sunday too.

Up this morning before the day light. Family coming over for lunch and there was a request for manhattan pot roast with all the trimmings. So I needed to get up and get that in the crockpot at 6 this morning. The meat and onion and carrots and the seasonings are in the pot and it has been started. I will do the whipped potatoes later and make gravy. Think I will make a tossed salad too. Have to make a pineapple upside down cake.

Our grandson in law really likes pineapple upside down cake so I try and make it when he is coming over of meal.

I will give everyone their HHN shirts and backpacks they picked out at lunch.

Yesterday I went shopping and bought a new knife set for the kitchen and a vacuum sealing food machine. I went by the meat store and stocked up on some meat. The vacuum sealing machine is easy enough to use. I packaged some meat using it. I will see how it goes. Now I need to reorganize the pantry to make room for it.

Can’t decide if I want to try and go back to sleep or not.

Guess I will give it a try.

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone.
