Something About Nothing............ #14

Had a Fantasmic time:
IMG_2226.jpeg

Always a fun show, and we had a great day, with just some light rain around dinner time, then ar oh and 8 pm.

Almost ready for bed.

Glad to hear Robo made it home safely.

Thank you Carole.

Hi Ruth, hope you and your family are doing well.

I was reminded this trip that driving to Florida is not for the faint of heart. It has gotten more dangerous overall I believe.

The big hurdles to get through on our route are Nashville, Chattanooga and Atlanta.

You having lived near Nashville know the nightmare a traffic accident can cause on the roads. I agree it is worse now.

Glad to hear you had a nice day in your garden. It is so nice to be outdoors.

I know just enough to get by in the garden. I do like to try and grow things. Sometimes it works and sometimes not. I just like being outside.

I agree Robbie, just pottering around outdoors is always lovely, but green fingers I certainly do not have!! I`m not allowed to plant anything or cut anything as I can`t tell the difference apparently between weeds and plants!

Very breezy night, but tomorrow night is to be breezier apparently, but looks to be some nice days coming up over the next week, fingers crossed!

Not walking this morning as it really is a little too breezy for it to be fun so we`ll head out for some grocery shopping and then do some pottering around and do a few little bits and bobs around the place, there`s always something to find to do. Will get some baking in there too

Salmon for dinner tonight, simply roasted for about 12 minutes and will accompany it with some garlic and honey roasted veg with spicy cous cous. Turkey open sandwiches for lunch and repeat breakfast of toast with preserves.

Sad to read David McCallum has passed. For Tom he will always be Illya Kuryakin in The Man from Uncle, for me from my childhood he was The Invisible Man on tv and in a creepy UK tv show called Sapphire and Steel. I never watched NCIS which is his longest tv role. But he seemed to be a decent man, didn`t realise he was married to Jill Ireland, until he introduced her to Charles Bronson!!

It`s light now, time for another cuppa tea.

I blinked and it was Tuesday!

We had a great weekend. Saturday, we got out fishing! My lure of choice - The Momma Special 2.0 - worked like a charm again
carlton-dance.gif

LOL. Momma caught 2 keepers and the most fish! I didn't start off strong - the guys with their worms were winning. Then when we moved out of the breeze to the other side - Momma started hitting them! I could catch and release all day - TBH. We caught our limit a whole lot faster than we thought we were going to - and we had a fun day on the lake together.

Sunday was grocery shopping, a little cleaning, and a little baking. I was tired by the end of the day. I'm not used to puttering around the house all day. Now that fall is here - Our weekends will mostly be at home.

I'm a little sad today. MY phone keeps sending me notifications that our flights for Nashville are today. I didn't take them out of my calendar. So now, I will be researching for our 30 Anniversary trip or cruise. Also - a hot winter vacation may happen yet with some other family members. Bil is planning on having a very small quick wedding where her dad lives as his health won't let him travel - so they will then have a party trip planned to Mexico or Dominican Republic. So I just have to be patient.

Well, my tea is almost gone. so I should start to shuffle some papers.

Have a great day everyone!

Pumpkin, sounds like a lovely weekend fishing!! Something I`ve never, ever done......and yes, get planning for your next trips, especially your 30th anniversary, that is something to celebrate for sure!!

Weird day in the end, sunny, windy, rainy, dry, wet and then looked like pitch black around 3.30pm.....now the sun is bursting in the sky and cold. All we need are some hailstones and lightning and we`re about done for ever season in one day.

Another weird thing......apparently a few days ago, maybe last week someone in the RP Club Lounge said they were friends of ours........:confused3

I know for a fact I don`t have a single friend or relative visiting Orlando right now.....and told them that. Not a clue, will hopefully find out.

Had an early dinner as we were starving, salmon was beautiful, now having some tea and some baileys chocolate cookies I baked. I like a soft cookie and that`s how they turned out, now try to not eat too many!!

Fishing champ Pumpkin. Yay for a great weekend for you and family.

Taco Tuesday is here. Have a taco of choice in Taco Bell or whoever makes the tacos.

Having a nice time, as was again so sticky, with evening rain chances every day this week.

Parade time:
IMG_2283.jpeg

Wow.....quiet night last night!! Where is everyone!

Calm before the storm here. There is barely a breath this morning and a very warm night, windows were still left open in our bedroom but tonight possibly much higher winds, however not as bad as forecast a few days ago.

Having a day in today again, have a friend popping round later this morning for a cuppa so won`t be doing much other than having a good old yap, thnk she may stay for lunch so I have some home made soup defrosting and will bake a quick rosemary and garlic bread this morning before she arrives, the aroma will tempt her for sure!

Chicken curry for dinner tonight, breakfast is again toast with marmalade, really enjoying this last batch she made up. Have some lemon curd coming soon from her, I love that!!

Have a couple of cards to write out and get them posted before the end of the month, then September which is our busiest month for celebrations is over, last friends birthday is Saturday.

So, might go out a short walk this morning, looks ok right now, will wake sleeping beauty and see if he fancies a walk along the front, then back to get my bread in the oven for lunch.

I did find out who the person is telling several folks we are friends with them at Universal/hotel. I now know who it is and wish they would stop telling folks we`re friends as we are not.

We know them through the Dis vaguely, have spoken in the club lounge a few times, but we are no way friends!!

We`ve had some lovely folks speak to staff in the club lounge saying they know us through the Trip reports and that is always lovely.....but for this man to outright tell people we are friends is nonsense!!! I know he can no longer post here (not sure if it`s a permanent ban) but hopefully if he does read here he`ll know who he is and stop.

Hehe, camel reminder that it’s a Wednesday, the mid week day, where over that hump over gets us to Thursday, and then wee Friday.

Weekend flight home, but we have had a great time.

Quick lunch time check in. I am trying to get caught up at work. I am currently dealing with, what else, an insurance problem. We thought it was taken care of last year but it’s back to haunt us again. The client should have addressed it 2 months ago, but waited until last week to do anything. It has now become an accounting nightmare.

I am trying to decide on a good time to go back to Universal. I’m thinking late January or sometime in February when it’s not so hot.

Need to get back to work soon.

We went at end of January last year, Charade, and scored a great AP rate, and lower crowds, because Mardi Gras starts the week after. We left the day Mardi Gras started. Little one has a seasonal pass, so I went into the Studios without her, and got that discounted food gift card, and the magnet, then met her in Islands, for some more fun before then getting back for our evening flight home.

Still have the ac on and looking forward to when we can have it off.

(I probably should not have said that as when the temps do drop, I will be whining about that.
haha)

I started back going to the local ladies gym.
I am good for going a few times a week.
It’s not very busy but will be when the weather gets cooler.

Hope all are doing good!

Check in when you can.

I`ve never gone in Jan/Feb because it might be too cool.....lol.....March was lovely, nowhere near as warm as we were used to so stopped going after a couple of March trips.

Glad to hear you`re back in the gym.

I’m up late tonight. I was so close to finishing a cross stitch project that I just had to stay up and complete it. I will post a picture once I get it framed. I think y’all will appreciate it.

Look forward to seeing it Charade.

As predicted, storm wasn`t as bad as they said it would be so hopefully not a lot of damage around for us. Will call my mum this morning and see how it was for them as they were getting it a lot worse than we did down here. Breezy this morning again though, but not dreadful.

Had a lovely afternoon with our friend yesterday, although my bread turned out a little dense, not as light as it usually is, but she was very kind in her comments, then we laughed as it was very heavy! Spent most of the evening on the phone to two other friends, nice to catch up with them too.

Shopping this morning for us, don`t need too much, just want to top some things up, I never let my cabinets run empty so never need to stock up completely from scratch. I also need to write some emails, got behind with them yesterday!

Pork fillet marinaded in soy, honey, garlic and whatever else I feel like adding tonight, will cook quickly and serve with lo mein noodles and some chinese veg stir fried. No idea for lunch, but again toast with this lovely marmalade for breakfast.

No rush to get out early this morning so will let sleeping beauty sleep for a time, I`ll have another cuppa before I go see if he is up.

Sounds like you are quite the fisherwoman. Fishing with lures takes finesse, but catching with lures is a talent for sure. Congratulations with your Momma haul. Sounded like a fun day with the family.

I'm a little sad today. MY phone keeps sending me notifications that our flights for Nashville are today. I didn't take them out of my calendar. Its is sad to have to cancel trips, but nice you are now able to have a look at trying to reschedule a trip in the future for your anniversary.

I started back going to the local ladies gym.

Sounds like a great idea Mac. I need to get back to the gym too. I need to get motivated after getting home from my trip.

There is always a little recovery time required after all the walking at Universal.

Out little J’s birthday was yesterday.

My niece is going to have his party on the weekend soon. I watched him Tuesday and gave him a couple of his gifts then. I have more to give him at his party.

He likes the Minions and I bought him some of the cute little Teddy Bears called Tim. This is Bob the Minions Teddy Bear.

I went to Seuss Landing while at Universal and visited the book store and found some fun things for J for his Birthday and Christmas.

I took him for a hair cut on Tuesday. There is a fun Kids salon that has cute cars for the kids to set in while having their hair cut. He is not a fan of getting his hair cut, but he did ok. We had a fun time at he Mall after and he did get to ride the Carosel which is something he likes to do. He also enjoyed his favorite pretzel and cheese dip.

Yesterday had salon appointment myself. I needed it as my hair color seemed to wash out earlier then usual.

Need to get up into my office today and get something’s put away. I have my shopping haul from vacation up there. I need to get some of the Christmas gifts wrapped and put in closet.

We had a pretty hefty storm that came through last night. There was a lot of hail mixed with the rain pelting the windows. I hope it did not wash away all the grass seed we had planted on Monday. We had our yard aerated and seeded on Monday.

Need to get scootin this morning.

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone.

A day late, but........

1695910789371.jpeg

I`m sure his celebrations will be a lot of fun, everyone loves a party!!!

Very sad to hear about Michael Gambon, have watched many of his works over the years, most young folks will know him from Harry Potter, but he was so much more. A face from my childhood for sure and will be sadly missed.

Been a busy morning, got our shopping done and then the day has just drizzled away with one thing and another, but quite productive.

Have the pork marinading for tonight, can`t go wrong with soy, honey and garlic as a base for the rest.

Managed to have a closet clearout too, there`s always something to give to charity when you look, and admit somethings will never, ever fit again.......lol.....

I am finally caught up at work. Unfortunately that makes today a very slow day. I’m counting the minutes until lunch.

I`ve never gone in Jan/Feb because it might be too cool.....lol.....March was lovely, nowhere near as warm as we were used to so stopped going after a couple of March trips.
Too cool for you is probably perfect for me. I try to avoid March and April due to the spring break crowds. Last week was great for low crowds. I would have preferred less heat and humidity though.

Out little J’s birthday was yesterday.
Happy belated birthday to J.

Remembering Michael Gambon the Actor who played Albus Dumbledore.
Such sad news to read this morning.

I guess I will start on monthly billing.

Yes, it probably would be better for you. Our March trips were never mobbed, we didn`t see huge SB crowds in either trip that one of our friends saw in the previous February when they were there, maybe we were lucky.

And a good Friday morning from what is going to be a sunny and warm day, for this time of year anyway. Might meet up with some friends for a walk later this morning, nothing set in stone, so will decide later what we`ll do.

Countdown to our trip is at 7 weeks, it`s creeping up now! And not surprised to see the stores adorned with Christmas itmes now, not as you enter at least, they do have some Halloween items for sale, but it`s just not a huge thing over here generally.

Too early yet but breakfast is poached eggs on toast this morning, might have some avocado too, Tom cooks them for us, so a couple of hours to go yet, we really don`t eat breakfast till around 8.30 if we`re not doing an early walk.

Slow cooker chicken casserole tonight, will put it on later though as it doesn`t take all day to cook, I use thighs for that, so they`re incredibly tender when done, as is anything done in the slow cooker.

First job this morning is to have another clear out of some books......hard to get rid of them but I do have too many so I`m going to be ruthless and our village library will get some as they are calling out for donations and some will go to charity stores where they can resell them. My "to keep" bundles are always larger!

Friday again.......we have that weekend feeling!

We have a gorgeous day here!!! Again, for us and this time of year, we have almost 70 which when you`re out it feels much warmer than stated.

Popped out to meet some friends in the end for lunch after a walk along a rather breezy beach, but so warm. The dogs were in and out the sea constantly, and one doesn`t usually go in as she hates the sea, but she was hot I think. Had an early light lunch in one of the beach cafe`s, it was nice and it`s only two weeks till they close till April next year....shame as it can get busy on our beaches with walkers and so on over the winter but many of them do close for the season.

Popped into town to pick up a decanter and glasses we ordered for a wedding anniversary, their 30th and hinted they needed a new one for brandy. I think they`ll like it, will pop it into them tomorrow.

Now sitting with the bi-fold doors wide open enjoying the heat without the breeze, never expected to be doing that today and next weekend looks to be even warmer. Might try and organise a late bbq.

Tom`s just opened a bottle of wine.......:)

Ooh National Coffee Day. Need that caffeine as early entry was, 7:30. We made it by 10 to 8. Started at here:
IMG_2365.jpeg

And will probably park hop later, as walked on almost every ride, now chilling after a nice park breakfast.

Last full day. Seems to come fast, but all good thing do. And the packing will commence tomorrow morning, then a late flight home. Mostly nice weather, and lots of fun and good eating, and some shopping.

Most Fabulous Friday to all.
