merry Christmas everyone’
Hope you all got some gifts from santa and no one got coal in their stockings!
( that would not be nice)
We did not decorate for santa this year.
find it still too hard to celebrate anything this year since my brother passed
I think next year we will be in better mind set and enjoy the holidays and renew the joy of life, celebrate Christmas and do presents etc
We did not go to the church services today or send out cards or exchange gifts with anyone this year
just did not have it in me when brother
died this year
I think I can handle it next year.
Time has a way to take away grief.
Next year we will decorate, send out cards and move forward.
I was kind of hoping to get a holiday card this year but it did not happen and that was was fine.
Made me learn that life goes on and next year I plan to move forward and not dwell in the past.
I plan to bake a small hen and move forward Christmas is a lovely time
so promised Mr Mac we would start new tomorrow and would have a decent chicken dinner
Next year no chicken but a real turkey dinner with all the traditional sides with it.
Hope you managed to have a good Christmas mac.
Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah everyone.
2 hours til absolute bedlam here. Chilling with DW and the pups. Clear skies and 60s today so the smokers and vapers got a reprieve.

You`re kinder than I would be to smokers and vapers. We don`t have a single friend that does either, none of the adult kids do either, but I`d make them walk into the village to smoke 2 miles away if they did lol....yep, we loathe smoking in any form. But I`m sure it was appreciated.
Quick hello. We are in NC tonight and will be meeting dh’s sister tomorrow.
I have already purchased a gift for next year. It might be a stocking stuffer. Dh and I went to see what Hallmark ornaments we left for the season. He saw that there had been a Mandalorean ornament, but the store was sold out. I was able to order one from the Hallmark website.
We are going to go look for a place for dinner. Out hotel room has a nice view of a Chinese restaurant buffet.
Hope the meeting went well with the sister.
since i missed extending xmas cheer

admittedly pretty much fall into the above camp
drove one DS into city for one of his annual specialist checkups this morning, surprisingly good results hooray
beautiful weather, later went out to 3 different groceries, none had ricotta looks like many of us make lasagne for their holiday tables ah well, will hit the large grocery a half hour's drive tomorrow
are there rumblings? would be nice if they did have some sort of lottery ala disney
that was a really lovely meme
i seem to recall your mrs may have been scheduled for a procedure this month All good there?
fingers crossed!
wonder if they will have a lottery of sorts, like wdw did for APH & DVC for new rides We did get a slot for tiana, then had to be evacuated lol
i seem to recall it used to be random thing @ U with no announcements of soft opening's
we are impatiently waiting to try to buy a one day tix for last weekend in june but, not about to buy an AP for GD @ U when I already cover her WDW one
sounds like you had a lovely holiday
I'm of the mind that the best way to honor the memory of our much-missed loved ones is to try to remember them fondly and to hand off the family torch to the next generation
surely, easier said than done. Mourning can really take it out of you!
we all get there, sooner or later. I'm of the fake it 'till you make it sort, as it pains my family to see me sad

Glad the appointment went well!!
Oh yes there are definite rumblings about soft openings, haven`t paid much attention to them to be honest.
Ricotta and lasagne are not a thing over here, I`m glad as I don`t like ricotta in any form!!
Yes, our loved ones wouldn`t want us to be miserable, we had our moments but overall, Christmas is such a happy time and we made the most of it.
Glad you had such a lovely time too.
This was my lucky day!
Cats slept in and was able to sleep longer than usual.
I woke up before they did!
Looks a tad cloudy outside and makes me think we will see rain soon.
We are all set if that happens.
No errands to do today for me.
All is good in my world as long as there is cat food in the house!
If the cats are happy then all is good with the world!!! I hear that from many that have cats.
Well, we did have a lovely Christmas which we`re all happy about.
Christmas morning after breakfast we headed to the town closest to the hotel for Kyle to do the Christmas Day run he won last year, it was baltic!!!! But, glad we went as he came first again, but the closest first and second they have ever seen. Even the race director said first and second would need to decide as they`d never seen one finish so close. I had taken footage on the ipad, and heck, it was hard to decide, but Kyle`s hand and head just crossed the line first. So now he`ll need to defend it next year too lol.....we were glad we went, but holy smokes it was cold!
It has only been 6 weeks since my brother in law passed away, but we knew how much he loved Christmas and loved us all getting together for that time, so we did him proud.
My sister opened a bottle of champagne once we had all arrived and my nephew said a few words, we toasted him saying he would be missed and he was, but we all still had a lovely day with beautiful food and a lot of laughter with tears too throughout the day, but we celebrated. He is very much missed every day but we knew he`d insist we celebrated. Boxing Day we visited some friends, saw one one of my brothers, spent the rest of the day with mum then went to my sisters at night where we all had Chinese food with just the seven of us, mum wanted a quiet night in, it had been a long Christmas Day and we had taken her out on Christmas Eve too, so she is almost 90 so she enjoys just sitting snoozing if she feels like it.
Came home on Friday and drove most of the way in fog which was disconcerting at times, dropped Kyle off at his place then got the washing machine on and we both snoozed too. Yesterday we had our Christmas dinner and invited folks to pop in for drinks and snacks at some point, and they did!! Dinner was nice first, cleared up and set snacks out and most folks popped in between 4 and 8 which was lovely. And they all left which is good too!!! Some of the kids had plans so they stopped for an hour or two and always lovely for them to all catch up together, work and social lives keep them busy so they don`t always catch up with each other.
Today is a lazy one, tomorrow we`ll go shopping for the next few days and in the afternoon we`re going to Kyle`s for a few hours, he isn`t back at work till next Monday so he still has loads of time off. We`re not big New year people, much prefer Christmas, but we will stay up for midnight and do a full dinner on the 1st, apart from that, not much. Then on the 2nd we take everything down, all the trees, decoration and go through all the cards we got to make sure we didn`t forget anyone!! oops.
Then apparently start being healthier.......bleurgh!!!
Toast, marmalade and thankfully back to our own tea, no more teabags that the hotel has..... bleurgh again!!! Lunch will be snacky things and I have some shin of beef in the slow cooker for dinner tonight, I will be baking as one of the old ladies in the village is 90 on Tuesday so the church is having a little mini party for her, she has no family, so we`ll all make something for that and pop in for half an hour. Lovely lady who struggles with some issues but never complains and tries to do a lot for others, so time to celebrate her a little.
Breakfast up next, I`m ready for another cuppa this morning!
Have a lovely Sunday and as Janet said, only a couple of day till the whole new year new me themes lol.....
