Someone poisoned my kitty!

That's heartbreaking. How could someone be so cruel to an innocent animal. I am so sorry for your loss.

That is so horrible I hope they find the sicko who did this. The person must know it was your cat if they left him on your steps. I am so sorry this happened.

I realize that it was irresponsible to let her out BUT she was accustomed to being outside and would "cry" horribly to go out. If someone opened the door she would bolt but she always came back within an hour or two. Our county has no ordinance about cats being on a leash or kept locked up and we primarily got her to be a mouser since we have a canal a couple of blocks behind our house and rats and mice always going through our yard. We got her primarily for that but we also fell in love with her which makes this even harder. Hindsight is always 20/20 and I really wish I hadn't let her out but I did! I'm sad and distraught that someone did this to an innocent cat.

I figured I'd get told the importance of keeping my cat inside and that is fine...I seriously wish I had now but it still doesn't diminish how wrong it is no matter what.

Your poor kitty cat.....when they catch the sicko, they should give him/her/them some of the rat poison and see how they like it!!!!

Whether she was an indoor or outdoor cat is not the question. The question is how anyone could be so ruthless to kill a defenseless animal.

We had a couple of kids in my area a while ago that broke into a zoo/shelter and bludgeoned some animals. They all got off with probation...now 2 of the 3 have broken probation and are back in jail...imagine that.

This is where I think "an eye for an eye" should come into play.

Either that, or lock them up with all the child molesters and let nature take it's course...survival of the fittest.

Heidi, I had an inside cat and she was fine like that for a long time. After about a year I noticed she started being curious about outside. She escaped out the door a few times and one day I never did find her.

It's not your fault someone did that horrible thing.

Animal Control is at my neighbors yard 4 doors down right now. Apparently this person has struck again. They had a 4 yr old black lab dog (awesome dog) who was in his dog run, never barks, they only take him to dog friendly parks, never pooped or peed on anyone's lawn and he too was poisoned this afternoon with rat poison and his head was positioned the same as my cat. This person is truly twisted and sick! That makes 9 cats and 1 dog in 5 days. This lab was our neighbors true "baby" and they took great care of the dog. My heart is sick for them as well as for my family and the other cat owners around here.

Thank you all for your sympathy! Please pray that this person is caught soon before more innocent pets die!!!

I am truly sorry for your loss. I am scared for your neighborhood that this person is now also targeting dogs! If I were you I'd call local TV and tell them about this. People need to be warned, and maybe someone knows something about who is doing this.
People who are cruel to animals often are later cruel and malicioius and harm PEOPLE! I'd watch the kids in the neighborhood too!

Animal Control has now distributed a flyer door to door in our subdivision about the situation and that we are to report anything suspicious! Officers are stepping up patrol of our neighborhood as well!!!
