No, not the sweet grass! :)

Does anybody here use herbs on a regular basis for health benefits? Can you elaborate on which herbs and why you use them? How about listing some QUALITY online sites for research and purchase of herbs?

I use a lot of plaguebloom, mountain silversage, and dreamfoil. :laughing:

(sorry, knowing you also play, I couldn't resist).

What you need to take really depends on what your issues are, but some general good ones to take are:

Milk thistle...most people these days have issues with liver, whether they know it or not

Oregano...a really great "anti-bacterial"...it makes me feel much better

Flax oil....a great anti-arthritis, anti-inflammation medication

Probiotics....70% of your immune system is in your intestines

Others to consider are:

CoQ10
Fish oil/DHA
MSM/Glucosamine
Garlic
Chlorophyll to pull out heavy metals, such as aluminum (from cans and anti-perspirant)




There are so many helpful herbs/supps, but you need to learn what you need for what.

I would like to reiterate this. Herbal medicine has been used for hundreds and thousands of years. Some herbs are great and some can harm you. Don't use them yourself and definitely don't give them to your children until you know what you're doing. Herbs have chemical compounds--ie.,drugs--that can cause side effects and interact with other medications.

I am primarily a traditionalist. Alternative medicine doesn't appeal to me greatly, but I have used it at times. You just have to be very careful. As Hippocrates says, "First, do no harm."
