some info. on making ressies for next Thanksgiving...

I'm sure this has been asked 100 times already (I've even done a search looking for info.) but wondered if anyone had any info. to add.

I'm looking at booking a 1 br and 2 br at our home resort (BCV) for next Thanksgiving...arriving the Saturday before and departing the day after Thanksgiving.

My question is...will it be fairly easy to get those accomodations for that time when I call at the 11 month window?

I would say it is very easy if you call at the 11 month windiw, day by day. We reserved last December and are on our way the 20th of November, returning the 27th.

I doubt you'll have any trouble at the 11 month mark. We made BCV reservations for after Thanksgiving this year (Sat, Sun. Mon) at the 7 month mark.

When you say call day by day...what exactly is meant by that? Just reserving those units one day at a time? Is there a benefit to doing it this way?

if you have enough points make call on Dec 21 and ask how it looks - MS will tell you if you need to make reservations on a day by day basis -or you can wait.

If you decide to wait - I would still make Wednesday, Thursday and Friday on a day by day reservations - just because those days are the most popular for Thanksgiving.

Sorry not to hijack your thread but now I am worried.

My family plans on going next Thanksgiving (Arriving Thanksgiving day) and leaving the following Wednesday.

We plan to book our home resort of VWL. I was going to call MS on the 30th of December, we will be staying in a studio. Are my chances of getting that good or do I need to call daily starting on the 25th (MS is closed)?

Yikes now I'm nervou as I know many people book them with the intentions of selling them for money as Thanksgiving nears.

Please advise me of how to book this, I have never been to WDW @ such a popular time before.

We had that extact reservation for Thanksgiving '03. We had just bought into DVC and made our reservation about 7.5 months before the trip with no problem in a BCV 1 bdrm.

call member service on Dec 27 - first day it will be opened - and get Nov 24 (thanksgiving), Nov 25 and Nov 26(Saturday - if you want it) is my suggestions.

do it early!!!


deb - during popular times like Thanksgiving or Dec1-14, Easter, some weeks in Spring break, also Oct and Nov - then to get what you want when you want it - you need to call day by day. MS is very good at spotting these times and when you first call. Ask Ms if this is a week where you need to make your reservations day by day or if you can wait until the last day to make your reservations. They will tell you (they want you to be happy).

if they tell you - you need to make your reservations day by day - DO IT. If they say they can't tell (I have never been told this - by someone did) - make them day by day. If they say have plenty no need to make your reservations until the end - then do that.

for BWV standard view - depends upon the time - for most of the year you need to request these day by day. They are that popular.

they are all the same reservation - tell MS on day 1 that you are making a reservation day by day method - they will make it one reservation and you won't get the confirmation until all the reservation is completed.

you must tell them this is what you are doing.

MS wants us to be happy. So they will encourage day by day for those times when needed.

I think sometimes it get them more upset than me when they can't give me what I want.
