~Wow!!! Jtown, this makes me want Fastpass+ even more!I am so excited, I just can't wait for fastpass+ & I will be happier when regular FP goes away for good! I do feel kind of bad for those who feel FP+ is ruining their Disney vacation -- it's so sad for them but awesome for me! That's too bad, I really do hope they find another vacation spot to love the way I love Disney World! This post is beautifully written, logical, sound, thoughtful & insightful! I don't need to read any further so I'm going to stop here! Thank you so much!!!

It's not a mathematical possibility.
If it WAS a possibility, they would simply have done it ALREADY with
the current FP system.
It matters not if the FP's are scheduled 60 days in advance or day-of...
There are only "so many" slots that CAN be scheduled to keep the FastPass line... FAST.
Respectfully, you are incorrect. As long as the number of FPs is less than ride capacity, there cannot be long wait times. No matter how many times that you declare otherwise, the math doesn't support your position.
Increasing FP 'slots' slows the SB line, not the FP line.
Really thought I wouldn't chime in, but I am amused enough to comment. Like any other change, we have 14 pages of "What if's?" Most of you would not remember the change from tickets books to one price admission. ("SO unfair! What if I don't ride roller coasters?" "Now everyone can ride E tickets" etc)
Then FP. People didn't understand it. I can positively state that this is still true for a great many park visitors. Used effectively it is wonderful. Planning your life around it is a headache.
Now FP+. We don't know how it will wind up. The RFID is changeable, so I suspect there will be a great many tweaks from the "official" roll out to what we will be complaining or cheering about in 1 year.
Veterans in the park rarely need more than 4 FP a day; it will take a while to get used to the new flow.
Thank you Dadddio for sticking to your guns.
I tend to agree with that and I think it's the big flaw in the assumptions all the "doom and gloom" posters are making. Many have said that the SB lines will become much much longer becuase of all the additional people who will have FPs. But if everyone will be using FPs for attractions, then there will be far less SB riders overall.
Thank you Dadddio for sticking to your guns.
One of the more interesting statements I've read...
Well put. The fact is that more people want to ride the E-ticket rides than their capacity can handle without people (sometimes lots of people) having to wait. That won't change.
Right now, those who are willing to make the moves necessary (arrive before opening, have a touring plan, use FP wisely) can basically avoid SB and therefore avoid those lines, and still do everything they want to do.
With the new system, the logical conclusion is that such touring will no longer be possible. FP will be more severely limited, FP lines will be longer, and SB lines will be interminable. They've basically ensured that everyone will have to wait in lines throughout the day. They've taken away the true advantage of FP.
(Unless, as one strangely insistent PP proposes: an enormous number of FP+ for E-tickets are available beforehand and also the day of visit, the FP+ are distributed in perfect ratios and allow for reasonable SB capacity, FP users return to ride in perfectly spaced five-minute groups with no exceptions, the ride never breaks down or has to stop to allow a disabled guest to board, etc. etc. etc. Which will probably happen.)
Your assumption that "everyone will be using FPs " is flawed.

Agree! Similar to what I had on my post on the previous page. It also depends how strongly Disney pushes people to use FP+.
And I still say there is nice size percentage of people that Disney will have no contact with until they walk up to buy their ticket the first day they plan to enter the park. How will FP+ make their vacation better? There must be thousands of folks every day going to the parks that are not staying on-site and never even open the disney web page.

They will have the pre-selected Disney recommended combo pack of fp+'s already built in, just watch.

I don't know about you, but after paying the price of a ticket, I plan on riding more than 3-4 rides a day. After using your 3-4 FP+s...ALL rides will be stand by or nothing.
Even if they let you get more after arriving in the park (which is not clear) the odds that you will have a FP for EVERY ride are small.
I'd say odds are zero. But, I don't think anyone ever expected a FP for EVERY ride. Who does FP for EVERY ride currently? No one, that's who. It's impossible.
Currently, if you obtain a FP for something with a return time in 3 hours, do you not ride anything stand by in between? Are there really some of you who only do an attraction if you have a FP for it? That leaves an awful lot of down time in between. Maybe you all should have spent more $$$ during all that down time and then Disney wouldn't have bothered with( NextGen.
