Some Disney Visa 0% APR questions

My mom is thinking of getting a Disney Visa so that I can use it to buy my vacations and get the 0% APR financing on them.

I wanted to know though. If she uses the card to buy the vacation, does she have to be with us when we arrive? She isn't going on the trip this time, but I don't qualify for a card due to a nasty divorce several years ago.

Also, can you get the 0% APR deal on the free dining package in December, or is it only good for non discounted or non special offer packages?

Thanks for any help!

You get 0% of any package (regardless of price/discount) but not room only.

I don't see any problem with her booking the room in your name and paying for it with her credit card. She will have to do a $200 deposit of the package (you get 6 months @ 0% as of the date she puts the deposit down). At 45 days prior to arrival she will pay the balance of the package (and that starts a new 6 months @ 0% for that amount).
You will then check in and may associate your own credit card for room charges & incidentals.

HTH! Have a magical trip! :wizard:

Thank-you for your help.

So, 45 days before arrival she has to pay the balance of the package off or she can put the balance of the trip on the Visa and then have 6 months to pay it off?

The idea is to book for December of this year and then have it paid off within 6 months of booking, does it work this way? Sorry if I am being confusing, I just want to be sure I fully understand.

Yes, you get 6 months to pay off the balance from the time it is put on the card.

So, if you book a December trip now, you will be paying it off with the card pretty quickly as packages must be paid in full for 45 days.

And, the bill will specifically state when your grace period is. Just be sure to pay attention to the date because sometimes it falls in the middle of the billing cycle so you must be sure to pay it on time.

Also be aware that if you make any other charges to the Visa, and then return them for credit, that credit will first be applied to your 0% finance balance before being applied to the monthly balance. So if you buy something that costs $200, then return it for credit back on the card, you will stay owe for the $200, but will have your vacation amount due reduced by $200.

Good point. You also want to be sure that you don't make your monthly payment until after the statement closing date or the same thing happens...it is applied to the Disney balance.

I just wait until I get the email that the bill is ready and go on that day and pay it.
