GF and Contemporary are both full in the categories we want for our upcoming trip. Any tips on getting a cancellation (or a room block release) other than calling daily?

thanks in advance

I would make sure I am trying the very day that people would have to have cancelled to get their deposits back for the day I want to check in.

Did I just make sense there - it sounded a bit confusing even to me! :)

try 6 days out before you leave...that is the last day on normal reservations to get your deposit back

If people are canceling a package I think it's 45 days out - I can't get into the disneyworld site today to check that but I think it's close.

Anyway, you are right. Many of us make reservations and then cancel them.

What are your dates? Resorts booked up due to a holiday or other event? :goodvibes

and halloween party
central reservations keeps saying the hotel (gf) may have a room block (I started this in march) but I am suspicious about that conclusion

Ugh, holiday weekend makes it hard. ;) There's nothing at either one even on Expedia, so I agree it's probably people holding res. I also agree with the "keep trying and waiting for cancellations at people's final payment" advice in this case

Here's wishing you good luck! :cutie:

Did you ever get your booking? If not, check the WDW website (or call) ASAP - they have the CR available for that weekend right now :goodvibes

Just some other suggestions:

1. Keep calling, every day for a room
2. Check websites like Expedia, Travelocity, etc.
3. Keep calling, twice a day if you have too
4. Very last resort (ha!) You could always ask at Check-In if you can move to another resort if they have availability!

This happened to us on our last trip. We originally booked the POLY but wanted to change to the GF because we had friends staying their at the same time. I called every day! I felt so bad, but I finally got a room at GF about 5 weeks before our travel date.
DON'T Give up!

GOOD LUCK! :wizard:
