Staying at Shades of Green and I have questions...

Does the room have a Refrigator (And how big)?
Coffee Maker & Coffee?
What other amenties?

Heard it has its own transporation, is it good?
How early does it start?
Does it take you to other resorts for Breakfast (like CR for Chef mickey for the earilest PS)?
to BB, TL & Marketplace?

Do they have a Refillable Mugs?

Is there a PX?
How much do they sell milk & water for?

How late is check-out?
Can it be extended at no charge (Have late flight)?
Can they hold our luggage prior and after of stay?
Can we use the pool after check-out?
Are there public changing rooms?
Do they offer a courtesy room?

Anything else I should know?

Thanks for your help.

We stayed there last June, and I'll answer as many of your question as I can -

Does the room have a Refrigator (And how big)? yes - a dorm size fridge
Coffee Maker & Coffee? yes - a small pot (4 cups maybe?)
What other amenties? hmm... not sure what you mean on this one - do you mean in the room or outside?

Heard it has its own transporation, is it good? the transportation wasn't stellar when we were there, although I've heard that it's improved
How early does it start?
Does it take you to other resorts for Breakfast (like CR for Chef mickey for the earilest PS)? no - the shuttles go on a revolving basis to the various parks, but not to the resorts. You can always take it to the T&TC and catch Disney shuttles from there
to BB, TL & Marketplace? BB & TL yes, Marketplace, no

Do they have a Refillable Mugs? no, at least they didn't when we were there

Is there a PX? there is a shoppette, and
How much do they sell milk & water for? hmm... don't remember off hand, but they definitely had more Shoppette prices than resort prices.

How late is check-out? not sure on the check-out questions, as we just stowed our things in our rental car
Can it be extended at no charge (Have late flight)?
Can they hold our luggage prior and after of stay?
Can we use the pool after check-out? they don't check IDs, so I'd assume so
Are there public changing rooms? another one I'm not sure of, we had no need for them
Do they offer a courtesy room? not sure what a courtesy is!

Anything else I should know? It's a truly beautiful resort. They really did a great job on the remodel, and it's a wonderful benefit!

Does the room have a Refrigator (And how big)? Yes, the room has a VERY SMALL FRIDGE... we were able to get a 1/2 gallong of milk IN THE DOOR, along with several cans of soda. You really can't fit too much in there, but you can keep your bottles of water cold!

Coffee Maker & Coffee? Yes to both! Housekeeping repaces the coffee every day... I drank it each morning! :)

What other amenties? There's an iron in the room too... also a T.V. and sleeper sofa.

Heard it has its own transporation, is it good? We were pretty impressed with SOG's bus system. They were ALWAYS on time! We never had to stand on the bus either.

How early does it start? Usually about 30min before park opening, if I remember correctly.

Does it take you to other resorts for Breakfast (like CR for Chef mickey for the earilest PS)? I think in order to get to other resorts, you'd have to ride the monorail.. not sure on that one. Our Breakfast was at Epcot.

to BB, TL & Marketplace? There was a bus to Downtown Disney, but I'm not sure about the other two since we never went there.

Do they have a Refillable Mugs? Don't believe so.

Is there a PX? yes.. very small, and has Disney stuff, though NOTHING says "Walt Disney World".. lot's of Florida logo things.

How much do they sell milk & water for? never bought any.

How late is check-out? We had to check out at 11am.

Can it be extended at no charge (Have late flight)? don't know.

Can they hold our luggage prior and after of stay? yes.

Can we use the pool after check-out? ??

Are there public changing rooms? ???

Do they offer a courtesy room? ??

Anything else I should know? Restuarants are good and very reasonable! Staff was excellent!! :)

I am not sure of any of the questions you have but the web site is http://www.armymwr.com/shades/index.html
This may have some of the answers you are looking for. I would also call for any other questions. The receptionists are very nice and always seem ready to help. I called several times since booking and they are always polite with even the silliest questions I had.

Good Luck :earsboy:

Sounds like you got some great answers. Here is another question. Does anyone know if there is access to a microwave? Say if you wanted to pop some popcorn or something?

And hey MrIncredible, we're arriving a day after you :cool1:

jckdisneybound, I was just able to add a room for the 6th thru the 8th with no problem. I hope that means they are not too booked yet. Have you stayed at SOG before? This will be our first time, 2003 we stayed at CBR since SOG was getting rehabed.
Maybe we will see you there. We have 5 kids with us ranging from 3 yrs to 10 yrs. Unless you dont have kids then I am sure you will be running the other way. LOL. Anyway, I hope you have a good trip. :earsboy:

Last time we stayed at SOG was our honeymoon in 1997 and it was great then. 2003 we stayed at AKL b/c of the military salute. Just no way I can justify spending that much money on a room again.

We will be there with our 3 year old also. She can be quite loud, I'm sure you will see us around.

I actually just booked our room less than 2 weeks ago and didn't have a problem for the week. I wanted to add a day on the end to check out on the 14th and it wouldn't let me. So I'm optimistic that the crowds won't be too bad. Oh I hope, as I don't like crowds.

jckdisneybound, Did you call or try on the web site? I just called and was able to add an additional room. I heard the web site will stop assigning rooms when they get to a certain capacity.

Good Luck. :earsboy:

Now I ned to figure out what happened to my countdown timer :confused3

The little PX shoppette did have some Disney World souvenirs. We got my son's autograph book there. Same style and price as in the parks, but no tax

FYI, I saw a post recently from one of the Transportation CMs that busses no longer go from the TTC to any of the resorts. So, if you wanted to go to another resort from Shades of Green, you'll have to pick another route.

For a monorail resort (including for Chef Mickey's), you can walk from SoG to Poly and catch the monorail.

For the Boardwalk area resorts, I'd take the bus to MGM and then walk or take a boat to the resort.

For AKL, probably take the bus to AK or BB and then catch the resort bus to AKL.
