We are staying at the CR in Nov since SOG is closed for renovations. Is there any chance of staying in the Tower instead of a wing? Are the Tower rooms nicer? What are the wing rooms like, and how far a walk is it to the monorail if you are at a far end of the wing?

I never really wanted to stay there, but I am starting to get a little pumped up about it, but I could use a little help. What do you love about the CR?

Thanks!

SoG has contracted for specific rooms in the North Garden Wing. If you want a Tower room, I believe you pay Tower prices not SoG. Unless they have some discounts. I was told the rooms in the Garden Wings are comparable to the rooms in the Tower. The rooms are very large, comparable to SoG. How far the walk is depends on how tired you are.:jester: This is a very large resort. However I did not find the walk that bad. Also it was nice to walk directly to MK.

Ditto what suevee said. As to the walking distance, (1) will make a difference where you are located in the Garden Wing, and (2) even the furthest walk from the Garden Wing to the tower is not long compared to many of the distances at the moderate resorts. Also there is a playground right next to the Garden Wing and the pool and marina are convenient.

Reasons to be excited about the transfer to CR:
--Walk to MK
--Monorail to Poly and GF
--Monorail (with transfer) to Epcot
--Boat to WL or FW
--Electrical Water Pageant every night
--Easy access to CR Tower observation deck for MK fireworks
