Sofa Beds how comfortable are they?

I was wondering how comfortable the sofa beds are? Our home resort will be OKW and we will probably try and stay at BCV and BWV.

Would they be suitable for an adult to sleep on or are they only for the kids?

Thanks

My dh slept on one in a studio at BWVs. He snored, a lot. So, dd asked if we could put him someplace else the next time! We booked a one-bedroom at BWV for last Thanksgiving and dh still got to sleep on the sofa bed!! He calls it 'the bed of torture' but says he's just kidding and that he had no issues with it. Not the most comfortable bed he's ever slept on but better than the bed he gets at his mother's house!!!

Saratoga Springs has a new design sofabed that has a much thicker mattress and a better frame design. I've heard people here say that they actually prefer the SSR sofabeds to a normal bed!

Last I heard, these same beds were also being transitioned into OKW rooms during rehabs.

The rest of the resorts still have the old-style sofabeds with which you are probably familiar--the ones with the 3" soft foam mattress and the bar that hits you right in the middle of your back. Whether they are "uncomfortable" for any given individual is a matter of personal preference.

We have often used the sofa beds at OKW and they've been fine. The ones at Saratoga Springs are great. We're going to OKW next month - I'll report back if the improved ones have been installed.

The sofabed at BCV was terrible. My kids were using it and they complained about how uncomfortable it was. I didn't realize at the time that you can call Mousekeeping and request an egg-crate type pad to put on top of it (if they have any available).

I am an adult and slept on the sofa bed at BCV for 10 nights. I tucked the pillows from the sofa into the top edge of the mattress because I hate the gap between the sofa and the mattress (It's just my quirk that I don't like the open space by my head!)

I didn't find the bed to be uncomfortable until about the 7th. night which I thought was pretty good. It was just me in the bed so that may make a difference and I am not very tall at 5'4" so I fit just fine.

Tried the VWL pull-out. I noted an uncomfortable slant from the head of the bed to the foot. We ended up putting the mattress on the floor... Next trip, same problem, same solution. Also, I remember trying a BWV pullout years ago. Had the "bar-in-back" problem. I'm not a fan of the pull-outs.

Our kids don't seem to have any problems with sofa-beds. However, we recently spoiled them by getting a 2BR for our family of 4... There's no going back now.
