Info about tickets with plan

I thought I saw this someplace but now I can't seem to find it...
We have an upcoming split stay, part of which is DVC. If we want to purchase the dining plan for part of the trip, do we need to get park tickets through Disney? We would likely be getting it, if at all, for the part of the trip we are paying to stay at a resort ( not the DVC part). Thanks!

Yes, you can add the dining plan to a DVC points reservation without purchasing tickets. The DDP will be for "length of reservation" -- so with a split stay that is the 1st half, 2nd half or the full stay.

You can add the dining plan to a regular WDW resort reservation without tickets by doing a "ticketless package" -- often used by those with an AP. Again for length of reservation.

When I went on NYE using my DVC points I purchased the dining plan through Disney and my park tickets from a 3rd party website since it was a tad cheaper than buying them from Disney. I bout 4 park hopper tickets and worked flawlessly. Once I received the email from the company with the confirmation number I was able to add it to my Disney reservation in my Disney app.
