POP! I lived in Virginia for a few years and had to learn to call it soda. Then I moved back north and for a while I'd ask my family for a soda and my dad would say, "What? You want a what? Never heard of it, but you can have a pop." I switched back to pop pretty quick!:teeth:

POP!!!

And if my 6 yo dd calls it 'soda', I correct her immediately! :faint:

Originally being from South Central Pennsylvania, I have always called it soda. My fiance, who is from Pittsburgh ( which is Western PA to those of you who don't know) calls it pop and now since he does it I find myself slipping into calling it that.
And you're right, in the south its all Coke. No matter what it is. :p

Well I voted for Pop because I am from Chicago and that is what most people here call it, but lately I have been saying soda for some reason. Maybe it is to get ready for my WDWCP days. :)

I was born and raised in Michigan on "pop". Down here in SC, it's called by it's name, i.e. Coke, Pepsi, DR. Pepper, OR it's called a "drink". That's funny, because in Michigan, a "drink" has liquor in it!!!

In Indiana it is pop and that is how I grew up to say it.

When I moved to Tennessee, my co-workers joked with me because I call it pop - they just call it Coke!!!

You guys crack me up! Here on the left coast, it's soft drinks. Soda is used also. But if someone calls it "pop" you know they're not from around here!

I used to call everything Coke but now I say soda. I once asked a waitress what soft drinks they served and she looked at me like I was crazy. I had to rephrase the question with "soda".

When you go to Mc Donalds Wendy's etc here they ask what kind of POP you would like.

Another Southerner who calls it coke. (My grandfather drove for Coca-Cola.) If someone asks if Pepsi will be ok, I say no I'll have water.

I prefer Pepsi and all Pepsi products to coke products.

We call it pop where I am from, but hey I'm English.

Another NE vote for soda or tonic...never pop.

Another vote for Coke here!!! My DH is from Nebraska, where they call it pop, it drives him crazy! The first time we went to his hometown of Lincoln, I laughed everytime I heard someone say it, then I saw an ad in the sale papers on Sunday for pop, and I still tease him about it!
