Has anyone ever taken a 3 year old onto Soarin? I am curious, with a child that meets the 40" height requirement, if this is an appropriate ride for a child that is 3? I know all children are different and react differently, I was hoping people could share their experiences taking a small child onto this ride.

Many, many younger kids on Soarin'

I have been on the ride several times, I just didn't know if the height and being suspended in the air bothered any children of this age group... not going to lie it makes me uneasy sometimes!

I can't ride it but my kids and niece and nephew have ever since they meet the height!

My son is now 9, and he has generally been short to average, so we didn't ride until he was 5, while he was scared at first, he LOVED it. This is the kid who was afraid of 7DMT at age 9...still loved Soarin'

DS was 4 for our December trip, and he liked it - pretty sure he would have liked it just as much at age 3. He "just" made the 40 inch height requirement. So glad we gave it a try because it won't be open for our trip next month.

my grandkids have been riding since they made the height. all loved it. there is a t-strap for the smaller riders. one thing to remember is each seat is separated from the other so your child will not be right next to you so you can not put arm around. you could hold hands. if you are going to ride any way I would go for it and let you child decide. you can "you tube" it with your child before you go

I've also taken my 3 1/2 year old on it and he loves the ride, then again, he is also a dare devil and loves ToT too! But I think you child will enjoy it :-)

Soarin' is a very gentle ride, with beautiful scenery. My 4 year old cousin loved it! However, if your child is afraid of heights or flying, Soarin' is a flight simulator so that is something to keep in mind.

OP, since you asked for specific experiences :) -
My nephew was about four or five when he rode it for the first time. He kept intently looking off to the side of the screen and finally leaned over to me and whispered something to the effect of "You know we're not REALLY flying, don't you?" It just cracked me up. Bottom line - he loved it.

My four year old loved it. In fact, it is her favorite ride. She would have loved it at 3, but she wasn't tall enough to ride it then.

It scared my DD last year at 5. Almost every ride scared her though...I'm hoping she'll try it again this summer!

My DS is 4 and he rode it 3 times last trip. His favorite ride at WDW by a country mile. The only part that spooked him was when it cut to black at the very end, but I would squeeze his hand and he was fine.

My godson rode it at 3. He's big for his age. Depends on the kid. If your child is afraid of heights, large movie screens in your face, or new sensations, maybe not. Or if you think they might not like the big screen, possibly sit in one of the back rows where you can see the feet from the row in front of you. they also will have to wear a seat belt.
