So You Think You Can Dance starts tonight!! Who's with me?

The thing about Mia........she said in the beginning I love to throw people out and that left a bad taste in my mouth. I have really liked her over the years. I know she is very talented and everything, but she kinda lets everyone know that over and over again. It's nice to be humble even if people think you are the best.

I can't stand her as a judge, but I love her as a choreographer...

I love Mia's choreography! She comes up with some gorgeous dances, and even won an Emmy for the "Park Bench" dance. As a judge though... she's a nasty person. She always has been, but I think she went too far with the whole "I love kicking off bad dancers because they suck" comments  In the past she's been nasty when she had to be but was more-so just being brutally honesty. With the recent comments, though, she just seemed to be trying too hard to play the role of the villian. It made her look bad.

I also love Mia's dances. I usually like Sonia too - but was not blown away last night by it. I liked last night but i was disappointed because I LOVED last week. Usually the hip hop dances and some of the ballrooms are really entertaining, but they were mostly bad last night - with the exception of waltz and disco. I really enjoyed the disco and I usually don't like it at all. I enjoyed the pop jazz with the princess (Cayla) and the villain. I thought it was really well danced and very fun. The rest while beautiful when watching - the canadian modern comes to mind - I am having a hard time remembering them. I was REALLY distracted by the hot pink outfit on the dirty ballerina during Sonia's dance. It made it hard to watch them as a couple. Sometimes I wonder about the costumes and sometimes they are really beautiful.

I usually like Sonia a lot but didn't love the one last night. It was danced well but I didn't connect with it.

It seems lately that Mia is getting joy out of tearing people down. That is what I don't like. She takes pleasure in ripping them apart. She's mean. All the other judges can tell it like it is and even criticize w/out being gleefully nasty. I think she was better before.

Wade is responsible for my favorite routine EVER but I didn't really like last weeks Crash Test Dummy thing. I think his wife has weird ideas. He also did the Cris Angel Believe show and that wasn't good. But I love when he does pop-ish, hip hop-ish routines.

Last night I thought Karla/Johnathan, Kayla/Max, Asuka/Vitolio, Randi/Evan and Brandon/Janette did really well!

Caitlin/Jason were so-so. I thought the choreography was just alright (especially coming from Shane Sparks), but it wasn't performed well either.

Jeanine/Phillip I thought were good, and I thought they did a decent job, given the style they had chosen, plus they followed those 2 awesome dancers from last week's results show who were just incredible. I really like the pair of them, and I hope that Phillip's fans will keep them safe.

Kupono/Ashley were another so-so couple. I didn't think it was as bad as the judges made it seem, but it also wasn't GREAT. I will admit though, that I was completely drawn to Ashley, and hardly watched Kupono the entire dance.

Melissa/Ade .. I liked their dance, but I like Ade more than I like Melissa, and I kind of wish she'd go, though I doubt she will, because he is so wonderful, I doubt they'd get put in the bottom 3.

I'm kind of over Caitlin, and I really wouldn't mind if she left. For the guys, I'd also be okay if Kupono left. He's lost his appeal with me.

Agree with all of the above, esp. about Wade's wife. That rabbit routine they did last year for the Believe show was bizarre.

So opinions on the results show???

I was NOT happy. I was ready for Caitlin and Kupono to go. I'm over both of them. Kupono more so than Caitlin though. I didn't like that he was the weak link in their routine and that Ashley suffered for it (though her solo wasn't good.)

I think Max deserved more of a chance. I liked his solo. However, he isn't "quirky" or "unique" and you know Nigel eats that up!

I agree. I think Caitlin and Kupono should have gone home. Max's solo last night was fantastic (for ballroom) and I think he has been holding his own with Kayla. Caitlin is just kind of bland for me.

Ashley did have a bad solo, but Kayla's was HORRIBLE. I just think if they were going to send Ashley home then Kupono should have gone as well because he was a big part of her demise.

I'm joining! I was looking for this last night but couldn't find it.

I still like Caitlin...I thought she was very cute during her performance....so I'm glad she stayed.

I am very very sad that Max had to go. I know that someone had to go, but I was rooting for Kupono because sure, while he did a very good job the first week, this week's was just ok. Max, I think, did very well both weeks and I think we would have had a LOT more to see from him than Kupono. BTW, I seriously loved Max and Kayla's dance this week! So cool and I downloaded the song they danced to. Great dancing around the house while cleaning song!

I'm definitely glad that Ashley went because of the three girls, I'd like to see Caitlin and Kayla more.

I am over the ballerina, whatever the heck her name is, and want her to go.

I don't know why, but something about Aska (spelling???) I just don't like and want her to go ASAP. I don't know what is it.

I picked Ashley and Max to go after seeing their dances. It's definately going to get tougher each week because I pretty much like all of them.

Oh Jeez......I have to admit that I LOVED LOVED the opening number Higher Ground by Mia........that was unbelievable! I can admit when I am wrong (sometimes):confused3

I lost a lot of respect for Mia during the final auditions when she teared the guy (don't remember his name, the black guy that made Mary cry) up. Its a shame because I feel dancers are very special people and they should represent themselves well. Tearing down another dance because you don't his style is unacceptable.

The Simon Cowell's of the world are not something to aspire to.

:scared1::eek::scared1::eek::scared1:

I had successfully blocked that until now. Lol! That was one of the scariest things I've ever seen on TV.

And how excited was I to see that Ryan is making it to Vegas next season!?!?!? I REALLy hope he makes it this time!

YES!! that was awesome...he looked like he did a great job in his audition too!! I would love to see him make it!

Last night...eh..not sure if i agree. I really though Max should have stayed, and Kupono should have gone. I like him, but i can't keep thinking he is trying to be like Mark from last season, but not as good...I felt bad for Max, he looked a bit perterbed by it, whereas Ashley took it well I thought.

disneyworldluvr349 professional dancers are allowed to compete. In fact they encourage it. As long as they can be temporarily released from their contract they are in. Blake in season was well known in the music video arena and had even worked for Brian Friedman (who was a regular judge and choreographer.) Danny had a contract with the America Ballet Theater when he did the show. Lacey had been in at least one video (with Benji) when she was a contestant. Ryan, Hok and ... (crap) were all part of the same hip hop group before and after the show.

Dominic - wasn't the other guy from Ryan and Hok's B-Boy group Dominic?

Quoting myself because I wanted to expand on this a little more. I think the show has evolved over the seasons to include more working professionals. While they never excluded them (Blake) I think it was more of a 'talent' contest rather than a group of professionals competing for 'favorite' in the beginning.

There were more untrained dancers in the beginning.

Part of Nick's prize (season 1) was an apartment in NYC to help pursue a chance at landing a professional job there. And part of the Season 2 (Benji) prize was a contract with Celine Dion's Vegas show. Benji turned it down after trying to gift it to Travis but it was part of the original package.

I think season 3 was all cash for the winner and season 4 added the top gender prize in addition to the winner's cash.

Have they said what the season 5 winner will get??

I'm happy Ryan in back to Vegas for season 6. I'm hoping Natalie auditions and makes it to the top 20 and that Paula Van Oppen is given another shot.

Not really happy about last night's results, but I'll get over it.

During Ashley's solo I was thinking God what are you doing?! Get off the stairs and come dance! It wasn't her best solo, but then again last week, the judges told Paris and Tony they had to take into consideration not just the solo, but Vegas week, and the show performances as well. I wish they had done this for Ashley too, because I liked her a lot more than Caitlin.

On the opposite side of that, I agreed with Nigel that Kayla threw way too many tricks in her solo. It just looked like "Hey here's all the great jumps I can do".

Caitlin's solo was sort of off-putting, i think mostly because that was the song she used in Vegas to "dance for her life".

I still think Kupono should've left. He was weak in hip hop, and the main reason they stunk so bad. RadioNate, I agree, Max is not "quirky" enough for Nigel/the other judges.

The thought of Kayla and Kupono makes me nervous. The judges have LOVED her since day 1, and I think he is not a good partner for her at all. We'll see ...

i was fine with either caitlin or ashley leaving - though would have preferred to see caitlin go. Kupono should also have gone home instead of Max. I am not terribly sad, because i don't think any of these 4 would have been/will be top10. it's just a matter of what order they leave.

I pretty much agree with everyone. I'm ready to see Caitlyn go and definitely Kupono. This week should be interesting.

Yep here is my re cap...

NO ONE BLEW ME AWAY.

I thought everyone did a poor job last night. I don't think anyone is safe from
the bottom three except for Phillip because of his "following." I love how Nigel said, "We aren't going to like you if you stay here and don't perform to our standards." Or something like that. I juts hope Johnathan stays. I really like him. And Jason, his routine was hot.. :}
