So what makes you happy at WDW that probably makes no one else happy???

Best thread ever!
The MK welcome show. "Good morning , good morning!" I stand there with a huge smile on my face, like an idiot, and cry with joy. Every. Time .

Splash mountain. The song, the hidden mickeys, the wonderful cool water on a hot day, my husband getting soaked no matter what seat he sits in (family joke that my teenagers totally enjoy ;)

I love reading Disboards and planning out details for my family to enjoy. Knowing the shortcuts and the inside information to shorten wait times and make new magical memories happen. Being ultra prepared with my special touring bag packed like Batman's utility belt. I once saved a young lady who had a horribly runny nose sneeze and no tissue. I rescued another lady with my special blister band aids (had worn the wrong shoes- poor newbie;), and a third lady who had gotten trampled (no joke) at rope drop and needed a bandaid because she skinned her knee. I have Tootsie pops ready for my kids when they're in the "worst line ever"and paper towels to wet and dab hot faces. WDW is my special happy place. I take pride in defending it and my family from evil forces that would ruin our magical time. It's fun to be a super hero ;)

The part of ToT where your car leaves the air conditioned ride building and pushes into that hot, muggy lift corridor.

Along those same lines.

When it's cold outside (this doesn't apply to Northerners, I know it's never cold in Florida for you:cold:) and you ride Living with the Land. When the greenhouse shutter door slides open and you get blasted with a rush of warm, humid scent-filled air.

The feeling of walking into each park after you go through the gates. There is a whole day of fun ahead of you!

I will try to answer to the spirit of "what probably makes no one else happy" ->
1> The AWESOME walk, early morning starting from Boardwalk, around the lake, then taking that along the path to Hollywood Studios.
2> Drink around the world at Epcot, though I am sure there are others who derive happiness from that.
3> Sitting in the Magical Express at the airport and knowing "we have arrived" and the bags "magically" showing up in the room.

1- buying something and having it sent back to the resort. It always crushes me the last day before checking out that I can't send something back to the resort.

2- I always have associated turnstiles with Disney parks, ever since I was a little kid. I really like going through them, the sound, it means something exciting is going to happen

3- I like embracing my rebellious side and putting on my 3-D glasses when told not to.

I will try to answer to the spirit of "what probably makes no one else happy" ->

Me too.

For me, it is seeing the little Mickey head on the price tags. Weird, but it makes me happy. :)
And hearing that high-pitched whistle that signals the MK boat will be arriving at the WL dock.
.

i know a lot of people find him annoying, but my daughter and I love Sonny Eclipse. In our opinion he should have his own merchandise, we would proudly wear his tshirts.

The sound of the Friendship Boat horns carrying across the water between Boardwalk and the Beach Club resort. So peaceful.

Everyone loves the sound of the boat approaching the dock at Fort Wilderness Campground, but I especially love walking my dog just before sunrise when all is quiet and peacefull.

Just a short message before the main event...Jemlover, my DH does the same thing. [insert heart-melting emoji here] We're so blessed!

  • Like others, the planning. Our next trip is June 2017, and I do some sort of "research" almost every day. (ahem, I'll call it what I want, you call it what you want :rolleyes1)
  • As a self-appointed charter member of the "Last of the Hollywood Studios Lovers Fan Club", I love, love, love walking into DHS at night. All the art deco in all its neon glory...:cloud9:
  • Sitting on a bench on the BoardWalk. Such a peaceful and beautiful place. Never crowded.
  • Walking off any ride on which our picture is taken, then looking for it on the monitors. I love how much fun we have laughing at our expressions. Thanks to Memory Maker, I get all the photos now!
  • Shops in Liberty Square
  • The Gran Fiesta Tour in Mexico. Slightly cheesy, but so stinkin' fabulous.

  • I also love the loading area for Splash Mt. I'm not sure if it's the smell, or the fact that it means you're getting ready to load and it's my favorite ride...but I just love it.
  • The upstairs area at Columbia Harbor House...eating there has become a tradition for me.
  • Riding the buses and hearing the message that welcomes you to the park and/or back to your resort...I know it's cheesy, but it always makes me proud of where I'm staying.
  • The resort food courts...I just love the busy-ness of them. I have always stayed Value and then my last stay was at POFQ, which I loved, but in 3 weeks we are staying at AKL and I really kind of hate the fact that it doesn't have a large, traditional food court.
  • The Land Pavilion at Epcot...for some reason the whole thing just reminds me of my childhood...probably because it has changed a little less than the other pavilions.
  • The sound of the cars going through the fast part of Test Track...I have no explanation for this one, I just love it.

I love the scream in the stretching room of haunted mansion after the room goes dark, just before the doors open.

When we stay at CR my favorite goodnight thing is the boats with the water parade coming back after the show. They run dark but still play the music. It's my favorite way to end the day.

This was when we stayed at BLT last year:

I love singing along with the music that's playing while waiting for rope drop at MK. It puts me in a great mood and gets me excited for the day that's about to begin.

I love the smell of the lobby at Bay Lake Tower and am desperate to have it bottled.

I love going to Downtown Disney on our arrival night and picking out new ear hats for the family, signaling the vacation has begun.

Also at DTD, the Christmas shop makes me oh so happy, regardless of time of year. The sights, sounds, and smells are heavenly.

Though I know others enjoy this a lot too, I love the lights in the paths at Epcot in the evening.

I love walking up and down the lobby stairs at the Poly. Even after the refurb the stairs look a little musty, but I enjoy the wall panels, and looking out those beautiful, huge windows!

I know some people do not like the Magic Bands, but I don't think anyone has said this yet... I absolutely LOVE when you're arriving for a FastPass and you put your Magic Band up to the sensor, and the green light comes on and there's a DING! I love it! :rotfl:

I also love hearing all of the different accents. I especially love hearing British accents and British-isms.
