So what makes you happy at WDW that probably makes no one else happy???

I have a few more.
-The canned voices over the loud speakers. It doesn't matter where or what they are saying! Every time my daughter and I hear them in real life we stop and want to queue up in a line somewhere :)
-When I round the corner at ASM and see giant Buzz and Woody.
-When a character is walking along and you hear little kids (and sometimes big kids..my 19 yr old) holler their names from way across the walkway.
-When strangers interact and have a good time while waiting in lines.
-Seeing "that" family--the one where everyone is just having a great time and joking around and not letting anything bother them -- and thinking "I want to hang with them!"
-Being so bone weary at the end of the day and crawling in bed knowing you still have one more day to go.

  • Por Favor Mantenganse Alejado de las Puertas.
  • The Peanuts in the ground by Dumbo
  • "Come on everybody, Here we go!"
  • "Star Light Star Bright..."
  • "Dead Men Tell No Tales"
  • "This Heres the Wildest Ride in the Wilderness"
  • The poof of the torches at the beginning of Illuminations
  • Watching Wishes from 7DMT (A wonderful experience!)
  • The smell of Splash Mountain
  • "Welcome Home"
  • The beginning of Fantasmic!!!!!
I'll come up with more later!

Yes! Your feet hurt, you're damp and gritty, everyone around you looks like the walking dead, and you climb aboard a frigid bus and sit under those glaring lights as everyone gets to their seats...it's terrible, but it's wonderful. It's one of those moments when I feel most connected with the rest of the hoard of guests.

I thought I was the only one who enjoyed this! It's a wonderfully terrible thing that only happens at Disney. :earsboy:

As soon as the warm, humid air hits me as we're getting off the plane at MCO, I'm elated!

I hate hate hate heat and humidity, but I completely agree with this. Getting off the plane at MCO just feels like Disney to me!

I also like the way my feet hurt when I get into bed at the end of the day.

The buses. I can never not be happy on the buses. Whether I'm coming or going, I sit there and soak it all in!
I love watching (and participating in) the excitement of being on our way to a park - especially the first trip. I love the sounds - especially coming back to POR. My DD and I also love the part in the safety announcement about not eating, drinking, or smoking and taking small children by the hand. We always try to beat the announcement "No smoking!" I say then she says "No eating or drinking!" Then before we disembark, I always take her by the hand. Even though she's 12 and almost as tall as me.

Us, too! We love meeting and chatting with people on the bus. And my husband insists on taking ME by the hand!

I love the part of the movie at the end of The Great Movie Ride where Jack Sparrow turns and looks at the camera and his face takes up the whole screen!
I love the part of Be Our Guest part of Philharmagic.
Any and All of the music!

I like sitting at a table in front of Auntie Gravity's during Wishes, nom nom nomming on a soft serve sundae during Wishes. DW usually heads back to the resort by then, and it is just me and the kids closing down MK. We must be the only ones who like this because there is hardly anyone else even passing by, much less lingering.

  • Being greeted by Richard at GF
  • The smell of the GF as you enter
  • The feeling upon arriving at AKL listening to the sounds of Africa, walking out to the Savannah
  • Sitting & relaxing isolated next to the Yak & Yeti water feature
  • Waiting for and listening to the Circle of Life when AK opens
  • Riding the monorail....just to ride!
  • Listing to "Please stand clear of the doors. Por favor manténganse alejado de las puertas", for the first time
  • Smell of ride water
  • The sights, sounds & smell of the Poly and walking the path of torches
  • Gazing upon the Tiki statue while relaxing in the lobby of Poly
  • The magical taste of a Mickey Bar!
  • The always excitable feeling upon viewing a trading pin lanyard or board
  • The full on immersive, relaxing feeling when dining at Scifi as if I truly was sent back to the 50s!!!
  • Enjoying the company of the friendly park ducks & squirrels
  • The solitude of the AK trails first thing in the morning when everyone else is rushing to rides.
  • Being one of the first to arrive at Planet Watch to view the surgical procedures

Just to name a few!!!

What a great thread! :flower1:

- I love the feeling I get when I walk into the Magic Kingdom and stop at the hub to just take it all in  You can feel the excitement from everyone, it is so electric! Then I think about all the other times I've stood there and get all teary eyed!

- I love the smell inside POTC- the water and the "canons"

- I love watching kids (mine or other kids :)) get so excited when they meet a character for the first time :)

- Last, but not least, the smell of the Disney Popcorn creeping up on you! popcorn:: You can smell it, but not always see where it's coming from! Then ultimately giving in and buying said popcorn!! :P

-I love HAVING to scream "Mickey!! Mickey!!, Hi Mickey!!! out loud at the top of my lungs and jump and wave frantically whenever I see him...even though I am 48..it's pure kid joy...I can not NOT do it
-The opening ceremony at MK makes me teary eyed
-The music and announcer on the buses to all the parks...
-The electric water pagent, VERY nostalgic for me

There are sooo many..

The "bing bong" noise the doors on the monorail make when they are ready to open/close
The monorail spiel.
Hearing "Welcome Foolish Mortals..." (I am more than likely beaming at this point lol)
Just walking down main st USA as well as hearing the train whistle.
The Dapper Dans and the Main Street Philharmonic
The smell of the lobbies when you walk into the AKL and the Villas, esp the smoky smell of the lobby at Jambo.
The smell of many of the rides and resorts.
Getting off the monorail at the GF and walking in to the upper lobby with the smell of Basin White and the sounds of the Jazz Ensemble.

This: Norway Stave Church Music (EPCOT)

And this: Pre-Illuminations loop:

I have so so many more..

Thanks for this thread, it's pretty awesome!

Oh - and the imprints in the ground of Maximus's horseshoes in Fantasyland! I made my friends stop while I took a picture of them. They lovingly thought I was a little nuts. But MAXIMUS!!
