All this materialism and commercialism really make it difficult to remember the joy of the season. Fortunately, DS13 has not even mentioned gifts and if this is like other years, he will not ask for a thing. We do not participate in the "giving orgy" in our house. We exchange gifts that come from the heart, not from some idealized list of demands/expectations.
News flash: I don't have to give DD a cigar box covered in glitter and macaroni for her to know that any gift she gets comes from our heart and the biggest is love.
