"So what do you want to do next?" An April '10 TR...final thoughts 8/2 p. 63

You got so much done already! I can't wait to see how the park got throughout the rest of the day.

Yeah, it was great! We were finishing up when a lot of people were just getting there.

Hey Sarah! Oy I got behind. Heehee I hedged my bet on the Space ride guess, going with the odds it was either Space Mountain or Space Ranger Spin! ;)

I shared a car with Ariana on my one and only ride so far on Astro Orbiter :crowded:... I did enjoy the view up there but I haven't been since... definately will have to do a solo ride next time... photo op!

Glad you liked Oceans :goodvibes... I have to see both films still.

The TSM tie in sounds like fun! Something new to look forward to this Christmas!

What a great morning you've had so far!

LOL, well you made a good guess with Space Mountain. ;)

Oh geez, if you were crowded with Ariana you can imagine how cramped we were. Oh well.

Yes, definitely see Earth and Oceans. They are great!

It'll be fun to see the new game on our next trip, whenever that is.

I cannot believe you went to a 7am RD!:faint:

Loving the TR so far, keep it coming!

Yeah, there weren't too many other crazy people there but we loved it. What can I say, we're morning people.

I have to work today so I'll try to get another update done tomorrow. I know I'm kind of dragging this TR out, we've been home almost a month and I'm not even done with our first day yet.

Again, I missed the Idol results show last night so Mom had to text me who got voted off..did they mention anything about the AIE with Aaron?!

No, they didn't say anything. I wonder if they aren't allowed to promote any of that. I am actually kind of sad he got voted off. :guilty:

I'm all caught up. Finally!

Great day at AK! You got some good rides in. Too bad Dinosaur kept going down on ya. Hope you get to ride it later on. That bus driver must have thought you were nuts waking up that early to go to MK. :lmao: But hey, if you're a trooper, why not? It's amazing how the sun wasn't even up yet. So far it doesn't look like you were inundated with crowds... I wonder how long that lasted? Look forward to more.

Hm..I guess they must not be able to say anything. That is a bummer. :guilty:

I know. I did a search on youtube to see if by chance there was something on there but nope. Sad. I still think that would've been so weird to see him at AIE and then on the show!

Yay! Welcome back...hope you had fun on your trip!

I always wonder if the CMs think people are nuts for getting up so early. haha But like I said, it was well worth it. We got to do so many things. :thumbsup2

I know! I'm sure they probably didn't think he would make it as far as he did! Like I said, the judges at AIE did talk about him.

Oh really, whoa, OK, I seriously do not know how to read then because I don't remember you saying that. :rolleyes1:laughing: I wonder why they never said anything on the show before! It's not like they haven't ever mentioned AIE on the real show. :confused3

Woo, happy Friday! Hope everyone had a good week. Time for another update!

Wednesday, April 7, 2010 cont'd (part 4)

So after our romp through Frontierland and Adventureland, I decided that I wanted to try and meet Princess Tiana. When my parents and sister were there in January, they got to meet them and my sister thought they were really good (especially Prince Naveen! haha). We walked over to their little meeting area and I saw a line but no princess. I figured she must've gone in for a break but then pulled out the time schedule. Well, apparently she didn't even start meet and greets until 10:00 and this was shortly after 9:30! Boo. I didn't really feel like waiting so instead we decided to just hang around in Liberty Square for a little bit and look for some of the hidden treasures there. Plus I wanted to see the Move it Shake it Celebrate it Parade at 10:00.

One of the things that stuck out in my mind for whatever reason while reading the Hidden Magic book was the windows on the buildings in Liberty Square. Notice how they are sort of crooked? That's because during that time they needed to save all the metal for war and had to resort to using leather to fasten the windows. Well, after a while the leather starts to wear which causes them to sag. Interesting, huh?

We also saw the Liberty Bell (though we saw the real one last year when we were in Philadelphia!).

After exploring Liberty Square we started making our way towards the hub so we could get a good spot for the parade. In the meantime the castle show was going on. I have to admit I have never seen the entire show, just bits and pieces. I do like the music though!

All the Disney royalty:

I think it's funny how some of the characters blink. And speaking of more realistic characters did you guys hear about them testing a TALKING MICKEY MOUSE at Disneyland?!?!:thumbsup2

After the castle show it was just a few short minutes before that Hannah Montana song began to play over the speakers. HEEEEEY, GET UUUUUUUUP, GET LOOOUUUUUUD....:rotfl: If you've never seen the parade before be warned that song is quite catchy. LOL. I even spotted one girl coming from Adventureland who was doing the entire dance routine. She was either a CM herself or has seen the parade one too many times. haha

I was looking forward to getting to see the WHOLE parade this time. If you read my August TR you might remember how it got cut short because of an ominous looking sky (which really turned out to be nothing but I guess they have to do it for safety reasons).

The parade is really more like a street party, just like Block Party Bash. Lots of stilt walkers, colorful costumes, and an MC who asks everyone what they're celebrating.

One of the cool things is there are some more unique characters in the parade like Lumiere.

The part that is probably the most enjoyable is when they invite people out into the streets to dance. It's so funny when the kids (and some adults too!) start busting a move. Some people really get into it! And then there are some people who have no clue what's going on. LOL. Even the Cast Members get in on the fun. Check out this video...this particular CM must really hate her job:

HILARIOUS! Oh, and for the record, I chose to just be a boring spectator. Umm...I was dancing on the inside? :rolleyes1

Overall it's a cute little parade. A lot of energy and great if you want to be a part of the show.

up next: Another hidden treasure and my first DIS MEET!!

Great update!
I agree, that parade is very cute. I love the music to it!
Can't wait to read about your DIS meet

If we had gone during the same week, that might have been me dancing coming out of Adventureland :rotfl: I've seen the parade enough times in the past year to have learned all the moves!

One "hidden treasure" you didn't mention is the brown "stream" running down the middle of the street through Liberty Square. I'll let you explain what that is.

Somewhere in here we used those FP's for Peter Pan. I can't remember if we did that before or after the parade.

Also, you can tell from your pictures that it was 10 AM and the park wasn't really that crowded yet. A lot of people were just arriving and heading out to the lands, so there weren't all that many people for the street party.

Of course, those of us who got there at 7 had already covered most of the most popular attractions in the park, plus a couple of minor ones.

Great pictures of the castle show and the parade! We saw that parade last June and my son was busting a move with King Louie. I don't know how they dance in those costumes in the heat of summer though!

I have that hidden treasures book too. I want to write some of them down on notecards before our June trip so we can find some of them. I do know about the brown "stream" going through...:rotfl:

Great parade pics and cute video!:thumbsup2 My boys were out in the street dancing last year, they had such a fun time!! It really is a cute parade/street party. It's funny because last year we saw that parade 3 times but this year we didn't even hear it and we were at MK all day.:confused3

Oh...and you're right that song does stick with you all day!!:laughing:

Ok, I seriously thought I replied to your TR but I guess I didn’t! Well, so sorry! I’ve got a lot to catch up on so here I go!

I love your cliffhangers!! Really got me thinking! LOL!!

Airport drama, not fun huh? I’m always worried also that our flights will get cancelled. And you’re totally right about the airlines not really telling you the whole story! Boo about being delayed an hour! At least it was only an hour and your flight wasn’t cancelled but still…booo!!

I’ve never had Chick-fil-A before. We don’t have that in Hawaii and I’ve just never tried it! But glad you folks go to have it. LOL! But boo about not having Harry Potter things there! I didn’t even think to look!

I just love pictures of the WDW gate! It’s sooo magical! LOL! Yay for your “private coach” to AKL! So cool! Yay for birthday buttons even though it wasn’t your actual birthday but who says you can’t celebrate it a little late? I love the hidden Mickey’s in the carpet!!

Love the pics from the parade. That parade is super cute! The animals are sooo creative!! Great pics from the Safari but boo that people weren’t being respectful! So frustrating huh? Yay about Expedition Everest! That wait time doesn’t seem long at all for a peak season! Boo about Dinosaur! Stay tuned to my TR to hear our experience about Dinosaur!

Wow! Can’t believe you folks got up that early for MK! And it was still dark out! I agree about traveling with a smaller group! They’re always looking for 2 people to fill in the spaces! That happened to us a couple times also! Yay for surprise FPs!! I am also one to follow the rules and not take any flash pictures!! LOL! Yay for the Move it Shake it Celebrate it parade!

Well, can’t wait to read more!! Wooohoo!!

Great update!

I love Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! And I totally dragged my sister out into the street to dance with me last summer. It was like us and a bunch of little kids and a couple parents. But it was totally worth it. I can NEVER resist a good dance party!

The parade looks like fun! I've never stopped to actually watch it. I think we may give it a try this trip. And maybe I can find that poor CM so someone will dance with her:laughing:

We love Move It Shake It parade. We watched it on our Mardi Gras trip last year shortly after it started. Sam totally ran into the street to dance with Goofy. We had a blast!
