so what are you eating tonight

We are ordering a pizza as I type, then tonight we'll have snacks while we watch Christmas movies,
I think we're having rotel dip and chips, crackers, pepperoni and cheese, chips and ranch dip, and Christmas candy.

crabcakes with wasabe sauce OMIGOD this sounds very yummy!

paras4ri - I would like that recipe too please!!;)

Being a combination of Swedish, Danish and Norwegian - we throw out traditional fare a long time ago... who wants Lutefisk and Blood Sausage? yuck!

I'm doing a Prime rib for the first time for me tonight, thanks to some friends who have given me step by step directions!

So just the Prime Rib, au jus, potatoes, green beans and cookies and fudge for dessert! (Just 3 of us at home)

We are having herring and lefse tomorrow (and a lot of other stuff), that's about all that's carried over from my heritage... all that we can stomach anyway:D

We have the same thing every year...

Cuban sandwiches, Arroz con Pollo, Spanish Bean Soup, and many, many sweets...

There are no Spanish people in our family - but we were all born and raised here in Tampa - and it's just kinda "rubbed off on us." :)

Merry Christmas to you all!

we will be having

spiral ham
macaroni and cheese
baked ziti
italian meatballs
swedish meatballs
egg noodles
2 kinds of homemade baked beans
wings
rolls
and lots of desserts for a traditional/or not buffet.

DH is on his way picking up Chinese food! We ordered extra in case we get hit bad by the approaching snow storm so at least we'll have something to eat the next couple of days!

Several years ago we tried something different for Christmas Eve. We had cheese fondue with chocolate fondue for dessert. Now approximately 10 years I have just returned home from buying the bagette to cut up for the cheese fondue and we are again getting ready to do our Christmas Eve special.

It is funny how family traditions are created. We have talked about doing something else for Christmas Eve but the children have come to expect this each year and it is fun to sit on the floor under the light of the tree and have our meal.

Merry Christmas to all of you

We're having MIL over tonight for Christmas so I'm fixing a traditional German meal.

Sauerbraten (marinated for 6 days)
Rotkohl (red cabbage fixed the German way-- very tasty)
Spaetzle (German noodles-- from a box-- I'm not that talented a German cook LOL)

For dessert we'll have Stollen (German sweet cake with fruit in it).

Just sent DH for the chinese food. Tomorrow is the spiral ham and New Years eve is the lobster. I love this season.

Frozen lazanga french bread and salad - I think that is what I put in the oven - well except for the salad

Just myself, DH, DD, son-in-law, and granddaughter so we're keeping it simple.. Deli meats on hard rolls, a large fruit tray, snacks, egg nog, and of course LOTS of cookies, cupcakes, and cinnamon crunchies! :)
