So this is what mid-life crisis feels like? Dec 2011 PTR

Maybe a little Christmas shopping at DTD is what you need! :santa: I know the feeling of feeling behind...I am all the suddent thinking where is the time going? I have a bunch of things to make and get prepared.

I think my shopping is done, except for Santa's gift cards and a few food items for the stockings/carry ons...and some new shirts for dh and me!

Where has the time gone...I can't even remember what last spring was like when we were in the 200-300 day range...or even when I sat last NYE thinking next year it will be WDW...I vowed.

I was just thinking about that too, Tammie. I mean...January was soo long ago. I can't believe how close we are. I was just noticing how much time I had before I have to request my rewards card so that I get it in time for the trip. Can you believe...only a couple weeks? I know December will be here so very soon... but I am almost scared. Not only because of how much I have to do... but what will I do when it is over. This has been a long year of planning.... and honestly, I will miss you all too much. Oh... but wait... there will be TR's... whew... I was gonna panic. :rotfl:

Another small update... so they changed our departure flights home. I hopped online to see and they had essentially given us a 19 minute window to change planes in Houston... :rotfl: So I called and got that fixed in a hurry. The airline rep was very sweet and even managed to get us 'seated' in the front of the plane. But not much changed, we depart at 11:50a rather than 12p but plenty of time to get up and have a Christmas Eve breakfast before heading home. :sad2: My biggest concern was getting home at a decent time to enjoy Christmas Eve with the family. But it all worked out well.

Tammie - I will be coming home and your trip will be on the verge of starting! Can't wait for all of us to share our journeys!!! :goodvibes

The flight for my dh and ds got changed too. I had to call too. (what is up with airlines lately ) With ours... dh and ds were scheduled to land
after their connecting flight was set to depart. I guess maybe the airline expected they could change planes mid air.

Don't panic! I predict we will all still remain in touch post-trip and post-TR! I hope to find you all on facebook once the 'surprise' is out to my kids. But I have so much family on there and I'm worried about giving up the surprise! SO CLOSE! 10 more weeks!!! :woohoo:

I don't know what's up with airlines... I need to call and update our flights with the poly trip planners for car purposes but I do like the seating she gave us on our way home! :goodvibes

What is with the airlines and the connections? This is why I try to fly direct. Well this and the fact the one part of flying that freaks me out is the landing and take offs, so if I can minize those I'm good.

Pretty soon instead of weeks your going to have to only count in days!

Hi, Amy. I'm popping in to say hi.

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for 70 days/10 weeks.

Airlines drive me crazy. They changed our flight three times coming home and it finally ended up being at the original time from when we booked it. :headache:

70 days is like nothing. Especially if you are like Ann and started at the beginning of the year with a trip booked. Is it time for the weekend yet?

Hi Kathy! Agree about the airlines and their flight changes!!

70 days is like nothing. Especially if you are like Ann and started at the beginning of the year with a trip booked. Is it time for the weekend yet?

I did book on January 5th!!! :rotfl: It's gone by very quickly! I told myself when I got to this point I would just go with the flow.

Hooray for 70 days!!!!

:woohoo:

I have been feeling kind of bittersweet about the days all the sudden flying by so quickly, last spring it seemed like ages for park hours to come out and forever to make ADRs...now I am wondering when I am going to get everything done. Also bittersweet about a PTR ending, but already thinking about the title of my TR. :rotfl2: I have made so many virtual friends this past year and I would hate to see it all end! :sad2:

:rotfl2: You are ahead of me, Tammie. I have no idea what title to use for my TR. I think what happens on the trip and how it goes will help inspire me....

I know I am so very behind, or feel like I am. I have some pictures I want to get on here very soon!!

My life = NUTSO

Eddie's team won Friday night, then we drove 250 miles Saturday to make the boys games - both won - got home, set up church for Sunday, worked on laundry that I'm currently staring at piled on my couch... :lmao: and I started a NEW class today! Good news is... the day this class ends is the day I fly out to Disney! :woohoo: I can do this, I can do this, I can do this...

Anyway - popping in for a few... Eddie is on the road tonight with football so it's "just me" to get the boys to their practices and get their homework done, and feed them in there somewhere... :confused3

But I promise I'm still heeeerrrrreeeeee!

YOU ARE SUPER MOM and YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I have been hoping that your keeping up with the running and training! I hope that I hear good news about that as I read, but please keep in mind I have been gone forever so I am reading way back!
Awesome job to everyone with the football! You should be proud of them all-- even the hubby's team although he didn't win they tried!
I hope that all of the unpacking is going well! How has the new house been? Are you liking it?
Your family is always in my positive thoughts!
I am really sorry about what happened to Erin's friend! I hope that it's all resolved and that the other kids haven't been blowing it up more or the "authoritive figure" hasn't really tried anything else! All the best wishes for that situation and the prevention of others similar to it!
Oh my I have those snoopy in laws too! I hate that.... I don't go into other peoples houses to look for things I should not or are not in plain sight!
Very pretty set that you swapped with! I wouldn't feel bad either about the decision you made to swap it! The color really accents the colors on the walls and the floor!
The PJ's are cute and perfect, I don't think that my 6YO would find them babyish! And they are going to be a surprise gift.... who can complain about those? I like all of the purchases! I have to get around to seeing what I have already and what I still need! I know I need more shirts and such for all of us! I love your boys shirts! And Erin will like hers!

OH MY......You just reminded me that I have to call and set up the pirates league for him from my mother in law! i have heard mixed feelings about this for the older kids because younger kids are on it (like Damien at 7!), but maybe you can call and find out which one would be better for their age?
Happy belated brithday Eddie!
I am so sorry about the lose of your friend! My nieghbor's dad has the same cancer and just had the bone marrow from his sister and is in and out of the hospital so I am praying for them and I will pray for your family and thiers! It's realy bad when a nice gesture turns into something bad!
I love the airport reveal, but so many things can get off kilter and mess it up! Sometimes less really is more!
I need to purchase the PP CD soon too! I really like that I can have pictures with all of us in some magical places and even add little magic touches to them!
I am really excited to read everyone's TR's and see how each of us went to the same place around the same time, but expierienced totally different things!
Okay.... all caught up! Although I can't really comment much on the football stuff because I never really paid any attention to it.... but it sounds like they are doing good! I think that as long as your boys and Dh are happy with how things are going then that's awesome!

I have been hoping that your keeping up with the running and training! I hope that I hear good news about that as I read, but please keep in mind I have been gone forever so I am reading way back! I am still running! The 1/2 marathon in Feb is falling through though. It's all for good reason and I'm okay with that. In fact, I cancelled my ressie today, as a matter of fact. I can't get back the registration fee so I'm still somewhat hopeful. My friend is not even begun to run and as you can guess it's only 4 months away and you need a little bit longer than that to get ready when you haven't ran for a while. I did convince Eddie to do a 5k with me in December so that should be fun. :goodvibes I also have to go to a residency for my masters Feb. 17-23. It's in Jacksonville, FL of all places so it's not too far from Orlando if indeed I decide to venture on down and run after all. My mom is going to go with me - we have some family stuff going on and once the dust settles, she is going to need the break! :thumbsup2
Awesome job to everyone with the football! You should be proud of them all-- even the hubby's team although he didn't win they tried! They are having a wonderful season!
I hope that all of the unpacking is going well! How has the new house been? Are you liking it? Loving the house. Worked on my home office today. And I'm almost to the point of decorating it "MY WAY." No one else is in there but me so I'm taking it for my own. ;)
Your family is always in my positive thoughts! You are so nice! Thank you!
I am really sorry about what happened to Erin's friend! I hope that it's all resolved and that the other kids haven't been blowing it up more or the "authoritive figure" hasn't really tried anything else! All the best wishes for that situation and the prevention of others similar to it! It's been really good. I feel more confident that it was a misunderstanding and the talk has since subsided. I do think her friend's mom is considering moving her to a different school, though. It's awkward for her in several ways.
Oh my I have those snoopy in laws too! I hate that.... I don't go into other peoples houses to look for things I should not or are not in plain sight! Speaking of... they are coming to visit again this weekend... prayers, please. :lmao:
Very pretty set that you swapped with! I wouldn't feel bad either about the decision you made to swap it! The color really accents the colors on the walls and the floor! Thank you! I'm loving it! And don't regret for a second giving up the 'view.' I do secretly hope for a magical upgrade though! :rotfl:

Oh do I have something to update about Miss Erin.... next post.

My nieghbor's dad has the same cancer and just had the bone marrow from his sister and is in and out of the hospital so I am praying for them and I will pray for your family and thiers! It's realy bad when a nice gesture turns into something bad! Yes, was so sad. He fought it with his family with all their might... hate that it didn't work out differently.
I love the airport reveal, but so many things can get off kilter and mess it up! Sometimes less really is more! Definitely going with the ornament unwrapping with t-shirt... a 'wake up' surprise and throw them in the car!
I need to purchase the PP CD soon too! I really like that I can have pictures with all of us in some magical places and even add little magic touches to them!
I am really excited to read everyone's TR's and see how each of us went to the same place around the same time, but expierienced totally different things! I agree!!! :thumbsup2 Will be just as fun to catch up after our trips!
Okay.... all caught up! Although I can't really comment much on the football stuff because I never really paid any attention to it.... but it sounds like they are doing good! I think that as long as your boys and Dh are happy with how things are going then that's awesome!

Heather - I really enjoyed reading your post. You took me back through portions of my PTR that I hadn't thought about in a while! :goodvibes

Okay - two new updates! I officially cancelled my ressie for Feb for POR. This is where my friend and I were going to stay for the 1/2 marathon weekend. There's no way she will be ready and I don't have any other victims who want to give it a go... so maybe next Fall for the Food and Wine festival... I can't get a refund on our entry fee... BUT I will actually be in Jacksonville Feb. 17-23 for a residency internship class for my masters - my mom is going to travel with me and I think my aunt - they can tour while I'm in conferences... and it's possible I may drag them down to Orlando for the weekend and run it anyway. Time will tell! :goodvibes

Secondly... ERIN FOUND OUT THE SURPRISE!!!! Little stinker! I couldn't even be mad at her! :lmao: Maybe it's a blessing in disguise... will make her semester tests much more simplistic to handle her missing them and getting them completed. She threw me for a loop because we've got some family stuff going on right now and so my mind has been sidetracked with that. So when she said "Mom, I know what's going on" and I was preparing my answer to be geared towards family issues... she says "We are going to Disney World over Christmas, aren't we?" My mouth fell open and I couldn't even fake it. I asked her why she asked me that and she told me she found the pictures of the shirts, etc. that I had taken to post on here!!! My own fault!!! She's a smart cookie... so I just went ahead and told her the truth. And then we spent the next 1/2 hour going through the t-shirts (Tammie - she loved them by the way and DID NOT think they were dumb so I feel Ab will be the same way.) Her comment was "We are going to be like a real family on our vacation... because we match!" :rotfl: I told her we were a real family but I was happy she didn't think it was dorky to wear them. :thumbsup2

She had a lot of questions... was totally stoked it's only 65 more days! :woohoo: And she pinky swore she would not tell her brothers and that she would fake surprised during the reveal and then she begged me not to let Eddie know she knows. She doesn't want him disappointed she found out, either. ;) So I'm okay with her knowing... not my first choice but was fun talking about it with her yesterday. She did ask me about the postcard that Kathy sent while on her trip... I told her it absolutely came from WDW in Orlando and was completely legit. She accepted that it was from Mickey and Minnie. :rotfl: So funny... she's so smart but still wants to BELIEVE in the magic. :goodvibes

She also tried on her shirts and pullover... fit perfectly! :thumbsup2

I would say I am sorry that Erin found out... but in the end... it is fun to have a partner in crime. You will still have an amazing trip! AND... now you can share in the excitement with her. :goodvibes
