Okay serious question. Why are they turning up dead in your neighbourhood? Apart from leprosy do they succumb to any diseases or is it wild dogs or wild something else?
I thought they don't typically die of leprosy, but they're just asymptomatic carriers (think Typhoid Mary). I'd think they die of all the various things that cause animals to die. In my neighborhood everyone deals with squirrels, skunks, raccoons, and deer that die in our yards; no armadillos though. It's a cruel world out there for wild animals. Don't some people eat armadillo meat?
