Wonderful day here - so, here in NYC, (we call it the "epicenter of hell" ) right now -
Wake up, and had to get up early to start being my homeschooling day with DS9-
Early , because we had to complete a few I-Ready online before I (dad) had to head out to a Dr, Appt - I was SURE that they were going to call me and tell me it was cancelled - my PCP is doing tele-appt only right now - via FaceTime or Zoom -
But this was my therapist - and the office is usually packed with people mainly 60 years of age and higher - surely, the office wouldn't be open, right ?
Well, yesterday I receive a call confirming my appt, and the gentleman on the phone asks if I've had any cold or flu symptoms of late -

So, I head to the office and I'm the only one there - only my Dr is physically seeing patients at this time - I had done the hand washing and sanitizing before I left and again when I got the their office - however, before I enter her office, I am given handy-wipe packs to use before seeing her - so, there she is, looking like she left the Hazmat dept)

Around 5 mins before my appt, a man walks in with the mask, and tells the women at the office that he has a low grade fever and needs to be tested right
away - they explain that they don't do testing and tell him the closest area hospital and urgent care - the man refuses to leave - he wasn't going crazy- he was just scared
He finally leaves, and now they have to sanitize the entire office , and everyone starts choking on Lysol fumes

I finally finish my appt - I drive home, and just need some air in my lungs - not a problem since no one is outside- we have a beautiful park right across the street - perfect- until I see the sign - ALL PUBLIC PARKS IN THE CITY ARE CLOSED UNTIL FUTURE NOTICE -

Times are tough ! I pray this ends soon !

Just trying to think - what goes better with "Onward' - (saw it in theatre opening night - looking forward to watching it again) - RED.WINE OR WHITE?

Which borough are you in? Yesterday, we walked through Ewen Park (good work out as it's all uphill but has beautiful ground cover flowers that I don't knoow what they are but want to find out) The playgrounds and basketball courts are closed in the park but you can still walk through thank goodness.

White...less hangover possibilities;).

Worked 18-hour days the past week to try to figure out the Cares Act and how it will impact the company I work for. Today I left early and am sitting on my porch swing doing absolutely nothing.

............well.....if you like the "Butterfly metamorphosis philosophy" the painted butterflies are migrating north out of mexico and across the flower rich desert provided by abnormal rain. The average for a viewing out our window Yuma desert window is 15-25 butterflies every minute. With this phenomenon, did some research and the butterfly that flew by today, will lay eggs north of here in Northern California/Nevada, those eggs hatch and continue north. Once the northwest summer ends, they fly back in mass on the air currents to arrive back in mexico for the winter. As a nation we are all entering our Chrysalis...

Today has been a bit of a rough one, with some awesome silver lining.

It is the end of the first week of distance learning. And it is clear both our kids are starting to get pretty stir-crazy. There has been a lot of bickering, and my lovely wife is starting to get... irritable. Also, tomorrow is our youngest's 7th birthday, and we were supposed to be boarding the Disney Fantasy (Today was to be a day of hanging out at the pool at OKW). Luckily neither of the kids know this (it was all a surprise), but both my wife and I are feeling a bit.. sad.

On the awesome side, our youngest's class had a zoom meeting where they all sang happy birthday to him. Additionally, each morning the school's principal emails out a link to a video of him doing the morning announcements, and he wished our boy happy birthday in the announcements as well. So he is feeling quite good about that. :)

I'm kind of dumbfounded that in NYC of all places doctors are still having patients come in for office visits.
The man went to his doctor recently for one of his prescriptions. Still being monitored for correct dosage (it changes every month or so) so after his monthly pricking and prodding he was issued his meds. All his other pills are issued for 90 days but this one.

I’m a middle school teacher at a small private school, and I just finished entering grades for last week’s work. It’s coming in in dribbles and drabs. But I’m almost done for the day. I had to make a deal with myself not to check my school email after 5:00 or on weekends; otherwise I’d be working 24/7. Searching for and previewing material I could use for distance learning, figuring out new technology, re-typing bunches of my stuff has been super time consuming, but I feel like I’m getting smarter about it now.

I am grateful to still be working and getting paid right now though.

Agree, but unfortunately they would not (or could not) call/electronically send in my prescription, so I had to see the Dr - trust me, I REALLY don't want to go out

I guess if it has to do with medication then it is considered urgent and I hadn't considered that.
Even if they schedule appointments so that they don't overlap and people aren't in the waiting room, they should make sure that people can't just walk in there like in the OP's case.

Yep -.its my OCD medication, which is considered to be a controlled substance - however, my PCP did tell me that the guidelines have been loosened - my mom was able to have a FaceTime appt with her Dr and her scripts sent to pharmacy.

Only saw 2 COVID-19 cases today.
Came home to a 20 minute hot shower, microwaved leftover carrots, and a Mickey’s.
The sun is shining, wind is blowing softly, and damn this malt liquor is the stuff right now.
