So... How is YOUR day going !?

Slow day at firehouse 18. Went to get Mexican for lunch. No meat. It’s lent. Washed my car and relaxing. That’s the best day to have.

I am trying a new slow cooker recipe:Grape jelly BBQ sauce meatballs.
I am watching dd help dgd with some school work(every week they get a packet or get it online).
Its nice and sunny outside so I may go clean and polish chrome on my car(cleaning is relaxing to me).

Got free pizza for lunch. So not so bad. But now that means I have to have the turkey sandwich I brought for lunch for dinner

It's a grey and drizzly day here.
I listened to ds corona updates before he left for work. They have 360 virus patients and 90 of those are on ventilators. He thinks they will run out of ventilators by the weekend. He thinks it's sad that family's cannot be with patients. He is seeing the meds aren't helping if the patients are already on a vent.
I took 2 naps as I am very weak and tired from my surgery.
Future dil mom texted me and said the bridal shower is the end of June but she might wait and reschedule.

I am having a rough day today. None of this has bothered me too much, so far, even though we've been self-isolating for almost 3 weeks. I am normally the level-headed scientist, shoring people up with rational information and encouragement. Not today. Sigh. Today I just feel cranky about everything. What goes best with sadness/melancholy... red, white, or bourbon?

I am more anxious today. I have been avoiding the news but then it slips in, like in this thread. I have gone out once in over 3 weeks and that was to the grocery store. I worry about DS who is in the Secret Service at the White House and DD who is pregnant. White wine it is.

I just got an email from the corona virus testing site I went to this week. The result is negative.
You have the bourbon and I'll have the Armagnac,.

All of the above. :)

ALL of the above. I actually made myself a cocktail the other day that had bourbon and red wine, I was curious when I read the recipe, but I had both open so why not! It was pretty good, probably could have improvised and snuck some white wine in there too.

I have been making awesome whisky sours with the lemons that my neighbor gave me, they have brightened my week considerably.

I hope things get better for you. One of my friends was having a really rough day on Tuesday, so we chatted after book club and she was really impressed at how positive I still was. Hopefully, she will be around when I have my first bad day in all this or I always have all the great people on the DIS!

Bourbon! Drink up!

My kids have been feeling the same way about their schoolwork lately with all that's going on - on a more positive note - I FOUND RAMEN !! Case of 36 from Staples !
I know! What is it about Ramen that I can't find it anywhere? Seriously... ramen noodles are the new toilet paper- EWWWWW>>>

Thanks to everyone who chipped in to help cheer me up. Nothing has changed, but it's been a lift to see that people are reaching out- the good folks on the DIS come through again.

It's an inexpensive staple with a decent shelf-life - plus, sodium makes us happy !!! Has anyone tried the soy sauce one yet ? So good !! There small corner store by us (Mr price-gouge) selling packs for $2 each !

Had an 8AM meeting with a group of software engineers who are offshore. I was so used to getting up later. Ah, well. Got the current ticket I was working on into peer review. Had to take an online "COVID-19 phishing attack training course", which, fortunately, was only one 3 minute long video.

Made pot roast for dinner.

My mom called me and gave me a grocery list.

Got a call from the guy who is doing the video editing for the service and said I would do the invocation for Easter.

Called our pastor, found out he would do at least one more sermon (he technically retires while we are in lockdown).
