Well I guess I'm *technically* packing then since my suitcases are still in the closet ;) I pretty much have done what you have Shelly. I just started up my secret Disney bin again. :thumbsup2I've got all my toiletries and leftovers from the last trip organized and made a list of what I need yet- which isn't much thank goodness. I also have some stuff I've picked up here and there for the kids for the trip and for Christmas. So I guess *technically* I'm not a big weirdo packing for a trip that is still months away...:rolleyes1

So happy for you- I know you've been missing him:lovestruc:lovestruc

Thanks. It'll be good to see him again, even if only for the weekend!!:cloud9:

Funny how Disney does that to you. If we vacation at the beach or somewhere else, I book the place and pack a week out. No work involved.
Disney on the other hand, I've been packing and fretting and planning for months now and will be doing so for 4 more months! :scared1:Craziness I tell ya!!!

I'm at 21 days and I haven't even thought about packing...however I have crossed off most things off my shopping list and I'm going to the outlet mall on Monday so I will get a few more shirts for Disney...I'm hoping to find some cute stuff for some great deals LOL!!!

I haven't started packing! I have, however, started accumulating supplies. Like sunblock (don't need it as much in January!). And one of those drawstring backpacks. And the stocking for under my brace.

The dress I got to wear to the wedding that is the next week is sleeveless. I guess I should dig out my tank tops to wear! I'm sure I'll have tan lines anyway, but let's try and minimize them! (I love my dress - it makes me feel very pretty)

Weird:confused3 why would that be weird? Ha!:lmao:

Sarah... I know you are sooo excited he is coming home!!
Jen~ don't know anything about dvc...sorry.

Toiletries I start working on a few weeks out....clothes not til the week of...the weather isn't drastic enough from here, to have summer/winter seperated, so we don't have enough clothes for that!!! Unless it's like disney shirts for the kids, extra underwear, sox, stuff like that!

Okay I might have fibbed...but not intentionally LOL...I totally have my toiletry bag (minus my hairbrush/comb and makeup LOL) and my medicine bag packed up LOL!!!

Usually as soon as I put down the deposit for a trip, I make the lists. There's the "buy it list", "needs to be packed", "already packed". The "already packed" is actually several list. Each bag gets it's own list and when something goes in the bag, it goes on the list. Then right before we leave I check the "already packed" list against the master "needs to be packed" list to make sure I have everything. Luckily (knock on wood) I have never left anything behind. This trip is going to be harder to have all this stuff since the boys won't know about it until we are leaving. I'll just leave it all in either my closet, or the closet of the bedroom we don't use. I'll buy stuff a little at a time starting now until the week before out trip. I buy all new toiletries so that if I leave them behind at the resort it's ok. My DH always makes fun of me for double zip lock baggy-ing any of the toiletries, just in case. Then everyone gets new undies and socks for the trip. Actually since I start buying so far in advance we usually take all new clothes with us. I usually buy everyone new shoes just far enough from the trip that they are worn in enough to not cause blisters. I always buy myself low top cavas Converse, usually from the website so I can get just the perfect shade of green.

Well thanks to my in laws our Labor Day plans have totally change. I'm not sure what we are doing, but I know we are leaving Texas. Most likely we'll go into OK. Maybe go to Turner Falls or something. Since the furthest away from our house we've been since our 2006 WDW trip is my mom's house, I'm excited. We leave in the morning.

Kim...the Stitch and Lilo were awesome at the Poly. But... I liked the food choices better at Cape May. I really like the way the characters come around too...not quite so hyper as Chef Mickeys. But, aren't Cape May and Chef Mickeys the same food choices? AND...we will do Chef Mickeys this time since we are at CR, but I like Cape May!

Thanks Shawna for the opinions! I will take that under advisement! :)

Sorry I can't add any comments on character breakfasts, but I also wanted to add...MMMMMM, Biergarten! :thumbsup2

Oh Yes, I KNOW!!! VERY Yummy! mmmmmm, pretzel bread and potato and leek soup! Oh shoot, now I am huungry ;)

I've never eaten at Tusker House. I did like Boatwright's quite a bit, though, so I'm only of moderate help. ;)

I got a dress for his cousin's wedding!! (amusingly, it's cousin's parents who live near Beloit) And cute shoes! I'm all set!

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Thanks Sarah! Every little bit helps me make decisions! :) BTW, I saw the pics of your dress you posted on FB - VERY cute! :thumbsup2

Well my friends, we are in Nipigon at the InLaws for the long weekend! It is about a 75 minute drive from where we live. It is an annual tradition for us to come here for the Fall Fishing festival! My baby is all set to catch her first fish this year! She has made Daddy promise to not drive the boat "too fast"! :lmao:

Shawna - the Paddle-to-the-Sea paek is open and so VERY COOL!!! :cool1: The girls were having a blast playing on all the little structures tonite! I will take some pics for you tomorrow!

Have a great weekend everyone! :goodvibes

I do that with the toiletries too!! Usually if we are getting close to the end of a shampoo, or toothpaste, it goes in the travel box. I usually finish it up at WDW or there is just a smidgen left...trash it and don't have to pack it home!!! OOOHHHHH have a BLAST!!!! I am so glad you are getting to get outta Texas!!! Ha!!! you know i have been trying all summer and haven't made it yet:lmao:

Oh yay!!!!:goodvibes I am soooo excited! Can't wait to see those posted pics!! I feel like I know the place!

Sarah... I know you are sooo excited he is coming home!!

He's home! He's home!! It was great to wake up with him this morning!! Alas, only 3 more nights...

Toiletries I start working on a few weeks out....clothes not til the week of...the weather isn't drastic enough from here, to have summer/winter seperated, so we don't have enough clothes for that!!! Unless it's like disney shirts for the kids, extra underwear, sox, stuff like that!

Yeah, I generally do that, too. Except, well, now I CAN'T.

I decided that I couldn't take the fact that I wasn't going to my annual concert in Atlanta. Like, I've been shedding tears any time I really think about it. Today, for the college football pre-game show, the crew was broadcasting from Atlanta. I knew the skyline IMMEDIATELY and started naming the buildings and...

come on now. That's not normal. I HAD to go. HAD TO.

Airfare was, of course, outrageous (and worse when you figure I had a ticket that I cancalled) but I'll be flying in late Friday and will be there for less than 48 hours... but concert! Atlanta! My friends!!

I'm here: :cloud9: And I'm doing this: :yay::dance3: and :woohoo:

Still, not wise, but we decided we could swing the airfare. Since DH already has a hotel room with our friends, that's not an extra expense. Since we already had my concert ticket, that's cool.

And I'm going down. And I can see my friends!! :cloud9:

(I'm also going to talk to the boss again - AirTran offers, for a fee of course!, the ability to change to any other flight the same day as the flight! Maybe the boss will let me have the whole day? Maybe she'll let me catch the 3pm flight?) (and maybe she won't!)

Anyway, can't pack for Disney. Must pack for Atlanta. I'll be home on the 13th and I leave on the 17th. No problem! (At least they call for different clothes!)

Thanks Sarah! Every little bit helps me make decisions! :) BTW, I saw the pics of your dress you posted on FB - VERY cute! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I was quite surprised that it got any reaction at all and it got a nice one. DH approves!! :yay:

(Did I mention I'm flying to Atlanta next Friday? :dance3:)

Well, all this talk about ADRs and packing . . .

It's 4 days until I leave, and I haven't packed ANYTHING YET! :scared1: At least I have Monday off!

But the odd thing is -
For my December trip, my 90 + 10 is next Monday. And where do you think I'll be?? You guessed it - DISNEY! :rotfl: So I'll be making my ADRs with the concierge at AKL, since I won't have internet access!

Of course, December is still tentative, but do you think the fates are trying to tell me something?? :wizard:

How awesome to make ADR's while at Disney! :lovestruc

I hope everyone is enjoying their extended weekend. Both my babies have croup now. Last night I sat in a steam filled bathroom with Andrew from midnight to about 1am- not fun. He really panics when he gets croup and the more he panics the more difficult it is for him breath. DH slept on his floor all night. It was his turn since I've been sleeping in Em's room the past few nights. No one in our family has had a restful night in a while.

On the brighter side, tomorrow's Monday and we have off :cool1: Couldn't ask for better timing!

Aww, Kim, I hope your family had a better night last night!

I go to Disney next week! :yay::yay:

Kim~ Hope your kiddos are on the mend! maybe a day of total rest for all of you will do the trick!!! I hate when my kids get that junk! It seems to take forever to get over it....especially with our climate. do you ever make them eat mustard? If they get super-coughy...(I have to do this for me sometimes) if you put a LOT of mustard on a piece of bread, fold it and make them eat it, it'll help. My great-grandparents used to make my grandpa and his siblings wear a flannel on their chest coated in mustard. Did the trick! I personally, would rather just eat it! Ha!:rotfl: It doesn't totally cure it from one piece of bread...but it will get that coughing under control. Okay, that's my farmer trick for the day!!

Sarah~!! Can't believe you are so close!! How is the knee? Mikes is bothering him this week......he did the treadmill at the gym last week and I think he overdid it....he has been wearing the black knee brace with a hole over the kneecap....of course, I thought of you!!! Ha!!! Hope your trip is pain free!!!!!!

Woo Hoo!!! Yeah for you!!!! :dance3::cheer2: Are your kids getting antsy yet? Are you doing a countdown calendar or paper chain or anything? I think I already asked you that, but I forgot!

DS7 knows we are going, but doesn't know exactly when. He loved the surprise so much last time that he asked to be surprised again. DS10 wanted in on the planning this time! So we were attempting to keep it a secret from DS7, but I just wasn't up for all the planning in secret and talking in code again. So we pretty much talk openly about it. So I think DS7 knows it's coming up soon, but isn't exactly sure. His birthday is in 4 weeks, so we may just tell him the details then!

No real countdown calendar this time. Just a generic countdown on the dry erase board in the garage!

2 Months from today and I'll be at Disney!! :woohoo::cool1:

2 DAYS from today and I'll be at Disney!!
:dance3::woohoo::cool1::banana:

:cool1::dance3::cool1::banana: I can't wait until my countdown is down that low. Then again maybe it's a good thing, since we have nailed down anything including resort or which DDP.

Kim, I hope your kids are better today.

We had a wonderful weekend. We arrived at the in laws a little before the 8 AM time we were given. Got there stuff packed into the back of the Explorer with the boys and headed north for OK, and stopped at Sonic for breakfast. Our first stop was the Turner Falls over look. Then we went to Arbuckle Wilderness. Since our back windows don't roll down all the way, my mother in law decided to have us put the luggage in the back seat, and open up the back end of the Explorer. Then her and I sat with our legs dangling over the edge and the boys sat behind us. When we were done with the animal drive through, we rode go carts with the boys. I found out if you presh the brake and gas at the same time, it doesn't stop you from slamming into the back of your DH's go cart. I was getting close to his go cart and just freaked from being tired. Next stop was Nancy Fried Pies, and OMG they were good!! I only had the cherry and a bite of the chocolate, but it was so good. Then we went to the G.W. Exotic Animal Memorial Park. After we left there we checked into a hotel and went to find dinner. As we were driving Joey was laying down in the back end looking pale and complaining about being sick. David had been taking turns kinda hard and slamming on his breaks, so he might have been car sick. Although it could have been the fact that the only thing he had to eat since his Sonic breakfast was a few nachos and 2 cherry Nancy's fried pies, he was out in the heat all day, and it was 6 PM-ish. Once he shipped on some Sprite, ate a grilled cheese, and potatoe soup, he felt much better. We went back to the hotel for a swim, and then showers and bed. Sunday started with another swim after breakfast. We got the car packed and drove to Fort Sills to look at Indian graves. We started with Quana Parker who is the last chief of the Comanches, and my mother in law is related to. I was suprised how much they let us drive around the base. We saw Geronimo's grave. By the time we were done, John was almost crying not to see anymore dead chief's graves. Before heading back to Texas we drove around in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. All in all it was a great weekend trip. It did however make me realize how much I miss going to the mountains, so now I want to make our WDW trip smaller so we can afford to go to CO for Spring Break. Anyway I've rambled enough for now, so have a great weekend all.

Yay for you too!!!!! :cheer2::yay::yay: ( I love this little guy!)

Are you packed?
Almost! Until I start second-guessing what I'm taking! :lmao:
My problem is that I get that heat/light reaction on my skin (search for PLME in the Theme Park forum, and you'll see what I'm talking about). This time I'm hoping that the new sunblock with zinc oxide that I got will let me avoid it and I can wear short sleeves & capris throughout. So that's what I've packed. But just in case, I also have to pack lightweight pants and long-sleeved overshirts to cover up, while trying to stay cool.

Lots of decisions & LOTS of clothes!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Can't wait to see my daughter again, although she's only been back at school for 2 weeks!

Sounds like a great trip! I've never been to Texas or Oklahoma; would love to some day.
