Hello everyone! I've been feeling rather crummy lately, so that's why I haven't been around much. Madison was Jasmine for Halloween. It's the same costume she wore to MNSSHP, but this time, she had to wear a million layers under it!

Sheree-Madison is absolutely obsessed with Star Wars! Over the summer, we dvr'd all of the Star Wars movies (I think they were on Spike) and she watches them all the time. For her birthday, she got the Lego Star Wars game for both the Wii and her DS. Don't even ask how many hours she has played the Wii game...crazy.

Drakes-Yea for taking the TA plunge!

Ok.... More news...

Today is the day we're telling dd we're going to WDW. DH bought a cake at the bakery with all the princesses on and they wrote "We're Going to Disney" on it  I am so excited! This is a good plan, and easy no fuss, they baked it , all we do is serve it!

Also thanks to Meghan and her discussion of her Dream Job, I have taken the plunge and followed in her risky footsteps! I have applied for 2 jobs as a travel consultant  I just clicked enter and sent in my resume!

My family doesn't even know... I think I am crazy! :scared1:

Wish me luck :upsidedow
Can't wait to hear how the surprise went!!!! Pics please!!!!!
Good luck with the TA applications!
So last night after the kids went to bed, DH and I were talking about our plans for the upcoming trip that the kids don't know about.
Discussing dining. He'd been doing some research (I LOVE this guy!) and thinks we should just book at least one or two TS meals each day and pay OOP so we can just order what we feel like.
Since Sarah will be 10, we don't want to do DDP for her since she eats nothing but chicken nuggets anyway.
But we already have 2 meals planned, so why not a few more? We like to take the break and be waited on (well I do!).
I lay in bed for about an hour thinking of where we should eat!
Then this morning I got to thinking - I HAVE to tell my DIS friends!!!
I thought some more and realized how important the DIS has become to me. You all are so helpful, thoughtful, fun and interesting and I have not met most of you in person!!! I really REALLY value you and these boards. I can only imagine how different my trips would have been without you. Heck, I may not have gone so many times since they wouldn't have been as great!
So, I know thanksgiving is almost a month away, but I am so thankful for you all and these boards!!! I think I'm going to send Pete Werner an email.

Oh, by the way - where do you think we should eat???
So far we have planned for Boma and Princess Storybook at Akershus (not sure which meal, probably dinner).
We are not going to DHS. Just AK, Epcot and MK.
TIA!!

Have a great halloween!!!
This is an awesome little group we have isn't it! DH thinks I'm weird for having friends online but he has no idea how wonderful all of you are. :goodvibes
Sheree, you are SO right!! This group is amazing and I can't even imagine how my trips would be without everything I have learned from you all. Not to mention that this group is NICE!!! It's so frustrating seeing the negativity on some of the other topics or groups (not just the Dis, when we were planning our cruise this past summer, the board I was on got so hateful at times). I just LOVE you guys!! :grouphug:

As far as where to eat...SO many possibilities! We're so stuck on some of our favorites (Ohana, Cali Grill, Biergarten), Andy says are "tradition" and refuses to even discuss anywhere else. I think we often pick our places more on memories we made there rather than the food. Is that silly? Like our last trip, it was probably 5pm, we were near UK at Epcot and wanted to get the fish and chips. It was a nice breezy 75 degrees, both kids were asleep in the stroller, the park was practically empty, and Andy and I sat on the curb eating and relaxing...so now we have to go there next trip (not a TS meal, but that's how we pick our places). So, what are some places that are especially special to your family?
We go places for memories too! I was heartbroken that they closed Alfredo's in Italy. DH and I ate there on our honeymoon and would have gone back every trip if they hadn't done away with it. :sad2:
HAPPY HALLOWEEN SNOWBIRDS

So I had my first crazy disney dream... yep over 2 months out and they've started... for some reason when we arrived at WDW we were placed at AKL - Kidani, and my daughter (11 yo) asked if we could be moved to Jambo house, They said they would see what they could do. Now Jambo house had been refurbed through out, there were out of the way splash pads and interactive areas with the animals, the gorilla exhibit was flush with the childrens treehouse and swing set:confused3, and in with the gorillas was a wombat :confused3. Anyhow as we wait for our room to be ready we explore all these things. The pool had been extended and you could swim out to a sandy island, with a gold bar, it reminded me of dubai the way it was viewed from he top level viewing deck. We find out our room is ready by a personal attendant, however we are then told our room at CBR is now availble:confused3, so we all sat down and tried to decide which resort to stay in. Then I woke up:confused: I wonder what this means:scared:
I think it means you need to lay off DISsing right before bed :rotfl:
Happy Halloween Birdies!! What are all the kids dressing up as?

We are in the early stages of planning for our next Disney Trip! Dec. 2-10 2011. I've actually already had the OK from my boss too! We are going with another family that has never been there before. So my mother decided to start her countdown, right around 400 days :rotfl:. Gotta love it!
You see my ticker don't you :lmao: I started it just shy of 400 days. It makes me feel better and gives me something to look forward to so that's all that matters!
Drakes - I think your dream means you are undecided about your resort... and should stay at AKL Jambo , in March , when I am there! HA! I would love to see some gorillas from a treehouse (farther away though - they're a little scary)

Jenny - what a sweet memory about the UK!
I don't have too many that we "have" to go to, I just like so many places, it's hard to decide! Plus I always like to try new ones.
I did go ahead and book ADRs for Boma dinner the arrival night and Tusker House breakfast the next morning.

For Halloween - Sarah is going as a vampire (again) and Paige is a hippie. :hippie: Last night at the school dance she wore her Mickey Tye-Dye shirt we made at BC last summer. Tonight she will wear mine - she can put it over warmer clothes!

BTW - at the dance - I could NOT believe how many little star wars characters there were! I wasn't aware that the kids were so into it! Is it because there are kid versions of star wars shows out there on tv? I have girls - they are completely unaware. Although one night we watched the "new" first episode movie (whose name I can't remember) with them. They were "eh" about it. Kind of interested, but never asked to watch it again.
Now, The Blind Side, that's another story.
Paige wants to watch that a lot. Of course, I didn't think to "edit" toward the end at the part where they drop him off at college and the mom says,
"If you get a girl pregnant I will come up here and cut off your P***S."

GULP. :rolleyes1

Of course, Paige comes over to me, giggling and says, "Mom, what's a P***S? OH MY GOSH!!!!
I guess I thought she already knew the name, so I had to explain a bit. I thought I'd die laughing afterwards!!
Then, Grandma was babysitting a few nights later and Paige says to her, "Grandma I know what a P***S is!" My mom just about spit!
More explanation was necessary about how we don't just go around yapping about private parts!
:scared::scared: From the mouths of babes!

Hope that little pumpkin is being nice to his/her mama! Just keep getting your rest and counting the weeks until the second trimester starts and morning sickness passes. Were you sick with Maddie?

Hey girls! Little request here...could y'all pray for me? I have been in bed off and on all day...not sure what I am getting.Mike was hoping if I stayed rested today, I would be improved by tomorrow...but right now I feel even worse!!! Achy, fevery, then chilly, a little drainage,...and just flat exhausted. I took Tylenol this a.m.,. then a 2 hour nap(mike took the kids out for lunch, when they got home they just let me sleep:lovestruc sweet! ) now he's gone to a church thing with them-I took a super long bath, drank some Echinacea tea and am in bed again....I feel like CRAP... to be blunt! But.. I have soooo much to do!! We HAVE to vote tomorrow, I can't let them get behind in:teacher:, and we are leaving in 12(almost 11 ) days!!!!! Tried to get a few things off my list today, and all I managed was some dishes, sorting out my ADRs with the sweetest CM, and doing a tiny bit of school with the kids!!!Well, I know you would all be sweet enough to listen to my woes and ailments!! I love you all!!!! Crazy, I will never 'meet' some of you, yet I turn to you all more than people I have known my whole life!! Ok...going BACK TO BED~!!

Forgot to ask...isn't this what old-timers referred to as Ague? Also, the cure, I believe, was Aspirin and a few days in bed...aaahhhhh that sounds lovely!! Also, when y'all get this ( if you ever do?) does it make you feel all weepy? Geez, I keep having this urge to just burst out crying! Probably just give me a headache!!!!

OH Shawna! I hope you feel better soon - sounds like a flu to me! Not much you can do but rest honey!! Drink tea, OJ if you can, get lots of rest!
That's an order!!!
Just try not to share it with the rest of the family so you can all be healthy before your trip!

When I get sick I get sort of whiny and everything upsets me. I'm a lousy sick person. Mostly because I feel like the world will fall apart around me if I'm not in charge! HA! Just let all the small stuff go and most of it will either take care of itself, or you can deal with it when you're healthy.
Wish I could take my own advice sometimes!
:hug::hug::hug::hug:

I was very sick with Madison. I was throwing up almost daily, but I haven't gotten sick like that this time around. I'm just constantly nauseous. I can hardly look at food, so I have to force myself to eat most of the time. Not fun!

Red Tootsie Roll pops and Jolly Ranchers candy were my "life savers" when I was pregnant with the boys. For some reason it would settle my tummy a little and lessen my urge to gag!

Prayers and :grouphug:. Gotta get better before that trip! And yes I get whiney and weepy when sick. I've got a VERY mild case of what you have, but it started Saturday eve, and by Sunday when we were trying to get out the door (as my dear hubby is chatting away on the phone with a buddy, Keaton's spilling his milk, still don't have PBJ sandwhiches made to take to SIL's for chili dinner...) I kind of lost it. Threw a toy that the kids picked up, started yelling at everyone, near tears...:rolleyes1 NOT one of my finer moments. :guilty: Went in 1/2 day yesterday and decided to stay home today to rest. All. Alone. :thumbsup2

I HOPE BOTH OF YOU LADIES FEEL BETTER!!!!

Question:
We'll have 7 TS credits pp. I've got 5 TS meals planned (although 1 is a signature), so we'll have 1 TS left. We usually like to have a nice TS meal our first night there, but with our wildly cheap flights, we won't get into MCO until 8pm, and on departure day, ME will probalby pick us up by 1230-ish, not giving us alot of time. I'd rather not book another meal, just to have a little extra touring and/or relaxing/swimming time, and our one free day, with NOTHING planned, I figured we'll either go to DTD and I want to try WPE, or I'm sure the boys would love to have pizza by the pool...has anyone had any luck swapping TS for CS? I don't want anything "extra", I'd just rather use that last TS for a quick meal somewhere (probably Pop on our last day) if it's possible. If not, I'll probably just let it go to waste and pay OOP for a few CS meals.

Awww Shawna I hope you're feeling better soon. Try not to stress- things will get done when they get done. Take care of what's important first- getting healthy before Disney! :goodvibes I'll be praying!

Meghan- glad to hear you're not as sick this time around as you were with Madison. Eat whatever you can tolerate. I ate yogurt for the first 3 months with Emily- had to freeze it in the freezer first but it's what I could keep down. Do whatever works!

Ahhh..ladies!! Y'all are so sweet!! Not had fever today, but my head weighs a ton!! Sinuses are teeeeennnnder!!!!! I will try to get to my NP later today or tomorrow...Mike is gonna take me to vote shortly...maybe the NP can see me then...now I'm just tired. And the pressure has moved down into my ears. YUCK....and I coughed earlier and it sounded funny...like sick-funny....great. Well,...maybe a few antibiotics will do the trick...I took more Vit C today,. but I know this starts like this for me everytime and if I try to let it go it gets crazy bad. So...while I am dressed and ready to get out of the house, I need to just go and get it over with.
Not quite so weepy today--must go with the fever....I know my kids are whiney when they have fever too....

Meghan, hope you get to feeling better soon. With me, if I let dishes sit in the sink, it made me sick, garbage, food,...any smell of food made me nauseated...so,I had to clean the kitchen QUICK!!! Lemonade, strawberries, watermelon..I wanted it with all three kids. And I wasn't sick with the boys...just craved it.

Just a thought but since you are arriving later at night what about using TS credit for pizza delivery to the rooom... that will give you a chance to get organized and check out the resort... I think POP does it...I will take a look:surfweb:

Okay, I know this was yesterday and you've updated today - but feel better, girl! It does sound like the flu to me, too!!

(Psst... everyone else, don't forget to get your flu shot! I got mine yesterday. Ow.)

I'm now exactly 2 weeks from my surgery, which is stressing me out. My husband says he's "depressed", too, which is making our homelife, well, stressful. He injured his foot - AGAIN! - and can't run. Now, mind, he didn't see a doctor for the first EIGHT WEEKS it hurt and now that a doctor said "don't run, rest and heal," he's all pathetic about it. Poor guy, really, even though he did it himself. (He decided that he should start wearing shoes a half size bigger in case the shoes that fit properly would make his toenails turn colors, as a runner - what? how do they think?)

Anyway, add to that, my length of time on crutches started at "4 weeks!" and is now "well, 4-6 weeks!" I'm afraid that, post-op, they'll go "oops, week 6 is when we're closed. 7 weeks!" But it is what it is and I'll be happy to have my plate out of my leg. I can't wait to see what this wretched thing looks like, too! I bet it's smaller than it feels, too.

looks like POP will let you trade in two counter services for a 16inch pizza.... but you are close to CBR.... what about going to dinner there... I personally like the Maya Grill at CSR... or head over to downtown Disney... and try Wolfgang Puck Cafe... they are table service... heard they are pretty good... we have only gone to WP Express...

Just do NOT go to Shutters at CBR. It gets nothing but horrible reviews! We never saw anyone in there!

I bet you could get in at Wolfgang Puck's TS at DTD on short notice. I've heard they are good but I also have only been to Express.

Sarah - oh, I hope things go well and smoothly for your surgery - whenever you get it! Hope your hubby heals well.

Red Tootsie Roll pops and Jolly Ranchers candy were my "life savers" when I was pregnant with the boys. For some reason it would settle my tummy a little and lessen my urge to gag!

There are times, like tonight, where I can eat whatever I want. So, tonight, I had a honey wheat english muffin w/peanut butter and 3 oreos w/chocolate milk! The nausea definately comes and goes. Plus, Madison and I went to Ihop this morning (no school since her school is used as a polling place) and I had strawberry banana pancakes. Yum!

When pregnant with Madison, I craved strawberry fruit roll-ups and cucumbers w/italian dressing.

Meghan- glad to hear you're not as sick this time around as you were with Madison. Eat whatever you can tolerate. I ate yogurt for the first 3 months with Emily- had to freeze it in the freezer first but it's what I could keep down. Do whatever works!

I can't even think about yogurt right now which is so weird. I love yogurt! I've been surviving on saltine crackers and ginger ale a lot. I also eat a lot of strawberry applesauce.

There are SO many smells which make me want to gag!!!

thanks Wendy(you know, cuz of your screen name, I always start typing Maggie instead of Wendy!!!)-Yeah,...he has taken them to eat, or got food for lunch and supper both days....kids have been very good- and they have stayed pretty quiet, as far as bickering or constant chatter!
Sarah..dang-I cant believe he hurt that foot again!!! I know u are excited about getting that plate out--I bet it makes a world of diff for you! so, by New Years, you will be great!!!!!
I went to the NP yesterday-he said it sounded like a flu, with the sudden onset,fever/chills/body aches...but with the other symptoms its start-up off a sinus infec for me.So, I got an antib and a steroid...this morning I can already tell a difference in my head/sinus areas..Praise the Lord!!!:worship: He said I did have fever yesterday and my BP was up..for me anyway...it was only 120 something over 88. Which he said "You have HIGH BP today!"...mine is always so low. But geez, I could feel my heart pounding away!!! He also recommended one more day of 'bed rest'...of course, I can see times of up/down directing laundry work for the kids...but the majority of it is going to be LAAAAZZZZYYYY!! Glad its this week and not next!!!!
:grouphug:thanks for the prayers and concern!!! I was really feeling terrible on Monday:sick:

Shawna - glad to hear that you went to get checked out and that you're already improving! Now rest up, stay healthy and don't let anyone else get sick! You don't have much time left! 9 days?!!

The surprise went well. She had no idea we were planning the trip, she screamed and asked 100 questions. She sometimes sounded disappointed or down about it? :confused3

She is excited about the pool at CBR!

Maybe she is shocked I told her it was a trip to relax and not run from ADR to ADR! :upsidedow

10 today!! My ticker is off by one day--yeah, I am just laying around today too. Just going thru some junk in drawers and watching Narnia!! But, Kipper woke up with a headache and just told me his throat is hurting:sick::scared1: Guess I will take him in tomorrow if he's not better..or Friday at hte absolute latest.

Shawna- I think you should just get the whole family a round of antibiotics just to be safe! Disney in 10 days is nothing to mess with!

You all are nicer than my sister on most days! :lmao:

Wishing you lots of luck on your surgery! Hopefully they don't extend the time on crutches any longer than 6 weeks. :headache:
Sorry to hear about your DH's foot. You two are definitely a pair- one with a bum knee and the other with a bum foot.

:upsidedow
Maybe it was just a lot to process all at once and that's why she seemed less than thrilled. :confused3 I'm sure she'll be excited as it gets closer! :thumbsup2
She'll love the pool at CBR!!! pirate: Andrew still talks about the pirate ship and the big slide in the big pool!
