thanks Wendy!! it looks a lot better this week than last for sure!! LOL!!
Okay,...things marked off my crazy to-do list!!: dog went to vet today for her annual check-up, all was well!!
checked back with the lady who boards her and she is confirmed
shipped my box of goodies today!! and what a blessing! it was only $35 this time and will get there on Wed!!!!!! Used to it was on Fri if i shipped on Mon and was closer to $70...but I didn't pack any juices/water for breakfasts--will just buy a couple there if they want to have it...
Car washed,...
sheets are in the wash today
cleaning lady comes in on Wed.
mike is up & at'em!!! We worked on a TON of office work Sat,. so we are looking much better there,...
DS15 is doing muuuuuch better in school..has taken a test & a couple of quizzes and at this point has all As!!!!!! Praise the Lord!! We were worried at first!!! My upstairs is cleaned and ready to go!! (play room, schoolroom, and bathroom),...
Sat after all that paper work/office stuff, I thought i would see what meat I had to thaw out for this week-hate leaving a lot of stuff in case of power outages,...well...lo & behold!!! Our coils were frozen up as well as the entire freezer!!! Alll that stuff we had was thawing!! the meat was okay, it had not thawed out yet, but the ice cream, popsicles, and stuff were naaaaasty!!! I am sooo thankful that I checked it when I did!! by Sun afternoon it would have reaaaally been bad and all the meat would have been lost, not just some of it!
And, Wed night one of our best friends had an accident...he was working on their deck and a piece of wood & a tip off the saw flew into his eye!!!!! He has had 2 surgeries...vision is probably totally lost,--we were just thankful by the end of it, he could keep the eye itself. Then , Sun his wife got a terrible migraine and was throwing up all day, he got up to go to the bathroom and passed out twice~!!! His little girls had to call the ambulance because the mom is puking and can't get to him!! it was baaaaaad!! So, we were picking the kids up for lunch and when our other friend got there to get them the EMS people were there...freaked us all out....
So,..several of us are cooking dinner for them this week-he has a business and the wife has got to go in the office and run it for him and she's still got a migrain!!! This same friend also had a diff freak accident a year and a half ago--he fell down some metal steps at his part time job and messed his back up terribly,...he had his hands in his pockets walking, and it was when we got that rare cold winter--the metal had iced over and he fell across a walkway and down an 18' flight of stairs with his hands unable to stop him!!!! they have had a bad year and a half...he is still dealing with back issues, and now the eye!!!!!! so, please pray for my friends!!!
so,...things are getting done around here!! We couldnt cover the pool this weekend because Mike's back was still tender...so we are gonna get to that one evening this week....

It's Monday morning, more than a week after the storm, and there are thousands in Connecticut STILL without power! It's absurd!

But blowing substations and fires? Somebody really doesn't want to come in to work, Sarah!

No kidding! There were a lot of cracks from our anthropologists on how power was more reliable in *some third world country they do their work in, not known for consistent uptime in electricity*

In 3 days, we're off to Seattle! I'm just going for a long weekend. I can't wait!

dang...back on the rain wagon!!! We had cleared up the travel forecast, now it's back to rain on Mon, Wed, and thunderstorms on Thurs...hopefully by Friday of this week, they will be a little more sure and take it OUT ...I mean, geez,...we have been living in a drought for a year down here-I sure don't want to get it on vacation!!!! If it's gotta rain, send it to our house!!!!The only other time we had a rainy forecast before, we stayed at the Poly...maybe we shouldn't go there
Okay,...my list...you know at this point, it seems to get something added as soon as you take something out...but I think i am balanced today! I am doing all the laundry (will do 100 loads between now and then), working part of the afternoon at our office-so I don't have so much to do on Wed and Thr, putting all our old pics that I just did at Walgreens into albums, locating extra memory card for camera-if I can't find it just by another one--tired of hunting that thing! gonna put all my fall decorations away today and tomorrow--just leave my beautiful fall wreath on my front door-
taking the younger two off to the library today--they are finished with their and have asked for 2 days to go and I just haven't been able to get over there..but I will take'em today...ds is really into reading Roald Dahl stuff right now. I have a couple of his books, but he wants some from the library, and dd is reading Junie B Jones-she really cracks up over that! Which of course, reminded me that I need to get the books they want for Christmas ordered to B&N!! Also, they have a book each that they wanted, but we were waiting for vacation so they could read it onthe plane...I gotta get those too today! ds15 told his scheduler at work he needed this week off because his homework would be doubled since we are out next week-he never took him off! so, he has to work at least for tonight, so I will just go to the book store when I pick him up tonight. OY!! All this running around is wearing me out and I haven't even started yet! Oh well...the things we must do before we go to Disney world!!!!

I've got some weird bug right now, stomach ache and head ache. Rather be sick now than in a couple weeks!

hey girl!!!yeah,..I am gonna load about 4 new books on my NOOK before we go..I read fast also...I am rereading a lot of Agatha Christie's stuff right now, and Georgette Heyer..
I have spoken to Kim recently...she's is doing better! The Lord is really taking care of her and she has an awesome testimony, that I am sure she will share when she gets back on here! But,prayers are still appreciated!

I hope you get to feeling better!

Thanks for the update on Kim. I had seen one post on FB that sounded positive, so I'm glad she's doing okay. I think of her often.

Well, I made the first appointment for Sarah to start with the orthodontist! She is going on 11/30 for the diagnostics, impressions etc. Then about a month later she'll actually get the braces on. Sometime after Christmas (since I promised her it would be after Christmas!). I'd like it to be after 1/1 since that's a new year for insurance/pre-tax accounts, etc.

Here to do my every 4 month check in I'm sorry I'm so disconnected. I try to keep up but quickly get frustrated because I miss so much. Just can't keep up with you all. I do get to hear how some of you are through Facebook, at least.

Lots happening this month for us. DH celebrate 9 years of wedded bliss tomorrow, and Chase celebrates his 2nd birthday on Sat. He won't be in the hospital this year, thankfully. Of course, we will be having a Mickey Mouse-themed party for him. We are also having a new kitchen installed in a couple of weeks. All new cabinets and granite counter tops. Can't want for that!

Also, we've all been invited to be in my SILs wedding in August. She is getting married in San Diego which means my first ever trip to Disneyland

Nope!! The mother was at EPCOT about 7 yrs ago for a few hours but that's it.

So this morning my beloved dog of 18 years went to Heaven . We're kinda like zombies this morning. So instead of focusing on this, we're doing lots of Disney planning, which has already been done, but I'm trying to help my mother not focus on this....

Ok,..the rain is back OUT of the trip forecast!! I am at the office today trying to get it all done for this week and next!!! It's finally cooled off a little again, but will be warm again by Sun/Mon of next week...we probably won't get snow again for a few years..or so they are saying...will check in with you ladies later today! Gotta start working on packing clothes in the morning!!! My kids have on shorts today DS15 is loaded down with homework this week in prep for missing all next week...he's doing better..still a little overwhelmed--especially with vacation days in the mix...but he's happy!! Thanks for thinking of us and praying for him!

I'm so sorry. We unfortunately just went though this last spring. We are still going through it. It's a very tough thing to take. Try to focus on happier things, even though I know it's nearly impossible.

Hey girls!!! well...we are marking things off this eternal to-do list!! I got most of my office work done Tues and Wed...gotta go in for just a bit today and wrap up a few things. Washing clothes today and starting the packing for my younger two!! DD has ballet today and after that we are gonna be seriously working on her luggage! DS15 has a haircut after school..then he will come home and work work work on his doubled up homework for this week....he has a big test tomorrow, so I know he will be relieved that it will be over...and he has a 5 page Geometry review YIKES!! We don't like Geometry! But, even tho' he doesnt like it, he's done pretty good in that class...so hopefully he will be okay after the rev and the next test. He took a leave of absence from his job I know he was disappointed because he is really saving up for a car, but I was proud of him to be responsible enough to realize that for at least this semester, he is overloaded and needs to focus on his schoolwork. He didn't ask us if he should stop work, he just made the decision on his own....So, good job honey!!! I am a proud mamma...but y'all probably know that already! Well...it is quite chilly here since the little cold front came in...I think it's mainly the wind...it has been whipping and it's the kind that just slices right through ya! So...we should have no trouble packing up shorts and tee's now!!!! Okay...left to do:
find my memory card for camera, or just get a new one tomorrow
ds haircut today
finish covering/winterizing pool
start packing the kids
wrap up at office
...I am sure there is a lot more, but that's all I can focus on today!

You're almost there Shawna!!!! How smart of your DS to take the leave from work. He definitely has his priorities right! Must have really good parents!

I think you should add one more thing to your list - make sure you have all your tickets/paperwork ready!! That's one thing you don't want to forget. Did you buy park tickets separately or do a package? I forgot if you're going to the MVMCP this time or not.

I think you should refresh my memory with an outline of your plans. Add that to your list of things to do!!
I'm listening to DIS radio now while at work. Julie Andrews opening at Wishes gets me EVERY TIME!!!!

I do have the paperwork on my list...as we speak i am in bed checking things off! I can't print anything right now...2 out of 5 of us are asleep...so, i gotta be quiet....I am rewriting my to do list for tomorrow and my list of papers/flight info for Sat...we are taking the doggie to the sitter tomorrow after lunch, getting the kids disposable cameras and a new dsi game for the plane...they already have a couple of new books..so that will be all in one trip on the way to get ds15 from school....
we have packed about half the kids stuff...gonna finish tomorrow-we were just tooo exhausted tonight and the kids were getting a little too wound up--gonna save it for in the morning.
For plans..we are doing the HDDR Sat night...kids are excited-they loooove that show! And the strawberry shortcake!!!! That gives me time to get to the room, hang around the Poly,eat lunch there or at the Contemporary and then head over to the dinner show...then we are hitting the hay!!!! Sun is MK day, Mon is HS, Tues is Epcot all day, Wed is MK morning, prob Epcot evening (not sure..may change this day around to see the parade), Thurs is HS morning and pool/laundry afternoon, epcot dinner...Fri and Sat are up in the air still probably MK one and DTD on the other for souvies,..Epcot at some point for dinner and Sun come home.....
Can't wait! We are so excited!!!! I think we may spend the night close to the airport tomorrow night and get a few more hours sleep and less stress on Sat morning... I will try to hop on here tomorrow afternoon before we leave to say bye! Y'all have an awesome week!!! i will be thinking of all of you and sad that I am not doing a DISmeet this time....

hey girls!! I am hyped up today!! And it's gorgeous weather here, crisp and cool!!! So, we are all happy in our neck of the woods!! Got paperwork to print: boarding passes, etc,..Rx's to pack, dog to drop at sitter,gas in car, kid from school,...final fridge/garbage cleanout....a tad of to finish...just the loose ends that have to be taken care of!! Have a Magical Trip Shawna and family!!!!

I know I may have missed you, but I wanted to say it anyway! I'll be thinking of you guys for the next week and praying you get nice weather and low crowds!!


So today DH and I had the day off and went shopping. We got the girls a few Christmas gifts, got myself some needed undergarments , and DH bought me my present - a VB wristlet! It's so great, it's a decent size wallet and has a pocket for my phone with a strap over the opening. It's going to stay hidden until Christmas, but it will be great for shopping, WDW, etc.
It was really nice for the two of us to have some time to roam around the Mall of America without anyone whining, or asking for stuff...Of course that all ended when we got home and the girls were getting off the bus! It's been a rough evening since then! Oh well, it's almost bed time for them!!!

Hope you all have a good weekend!!!! The girls go to dance for 2.5 hours in the morning so I get some quiet time to get my chores done! Then Sunday I'm doing an open house with other vendors so hopefully we will get lots of traffic of Christmas shoppers!!
