~Snowbird Chat 2~

Oh, Sarah! You really are an overachiever. :upsidedow

I would wait and see on the wheelchair. It's still a ways off. And even when you get there, maybe you can see how it goes and decide then if it would be helpful.

Good luck! :grouphug:

I know, right? I can't just do... I have to OVERDO!

I think if I want a wheelchair, I'd have to rent off-site. Disney offers a first come first serve, at your hotel, wheelchair for $315. Oof!

Hello girls!! I guess we are all having a good and happy weekend...no one is on here! :) Just wanted to pop on and say that we decided to move our vacation up by one day, and leave a day earlier...not much difference really,...just bumped my 180 day mark to today:goodvibes So....I got up and got on the phone, changed my ressies and immediately went to the ADR system...got everything I wanted...only thing I will change is for our last night...I wanted to end eating at the castle-just because I wanted to go out with a bang! I told Mike and he isn't very excited about it...so I also got ressies at Le Cellier. Everything had several options for time and nothing is too booked:yay: I am not sure about the 2 TS credits for either option on Friday...we may do something like Tonys again (have it early in the week) and then use the last credit for a breakfast buffet at Chef Mickeys...just wanted to make sure I at least could hold those and we will decide tonight. So...I am excited!! After church I gotta make a ticker:yay: Been holding back til at least the 180 day/6 month mark!!:cheer2: Have a blessed Sunday!

Busy weekend for me. Yesterday was my friends birthday so we headed off to Milwaukee to see the Brewers/Pirates game. Then got home last night and had a "Disney Planning Night" with the family we are taking in Dec. In June we hit our 180 days so we wanted to get some feed back from them where to eat and decided on Crystal Palace for breakfast and we want to do Fantasmic Dinner Package too. We need to look through finances and stuff like that to see if more is an option, but I figure we can always add more later. We've also decided that we are 100% positive we are doing MVMCP. I know there are some mixed reviews of it, but they also wanted to do this since it is their children's Christmas present.

Well I'm off to work now...with a headache. The worst part of birthdays and baseball games, I may consume to a tad bit too much alcohol...:rolleyes1

hey Shelly....if they have never been to the Christmas Party they should go!!! It's a good way to get in some rides and characters they might have missed earlier...dates and prices are out....just know that the weekend parties are busier than the week night ones....how fun for you to be the planner!!!!!

Nice ticker, Shawna ;) It will be here before you know it.

33 Days for us. I think I'm going to pull down the suitcases and start throwing things in. This last month is going to be very busy with the end of school and Matt's flight schedule. I've got more than enough to keep me busy.

I changed some of our reservations around. Instead of staying our first night at the Hilton in Daytona Beach, we are going to the Hilton DTD. Matt and Ry are going to a baseball game with his sister. Chase and I are going to hang out by the pool and DTD for the evening. First thing the next morning, we check into the Poly :goodvibes

I've been working really hard to lose some weight before this trip and have had some great success. I've dropped 21 pounds and I'm 7.5 away from my original goal weight. I have a feeling I'm going to want to drop and additional 10 after that. If I can get back down to 115 lbs, I'll be completely elated. I've already dropped 3 pants sizes and lost 11 inches :). Now I shouldn't be so hot and miserable while walking through the Florida heat.

Way to go, Mindy! :banana::cool1::woohoo:
Please, tell us your secret!

I would love to stay at the Poly again someday. :cloud9: We stayed there when I was little...way back when WDW and I were young...:rolleyes1 I really enjoy strolling through it when we stay at SOG.

Get out you pen and paper. Are you ready?

I put down the fork (gasp!) LOL. Seriously, though, I started counting calories, eliminated soda, added lots of lean protein, and switched to 5 small meals a day. I also started the p90x program but quit midway through when Matt's schedule when crazy this month. I did start running again this past week which has been great.

So I was talking with my travel agent, about my stupid injury. I mentioned that I have a VERY hard time with stairs (it came up, as I was requesting a ground floor room, which has been moved to a medical reason for ground floor). I also mentioned that I expect with the crowds that I won't be hustling up and down any stairs for rides.

She thinks that I might want to get a GAC for the rides with stairs OR be in a wheelchair the whole trip. Ooof. I don't feel like I "deserve" a GAC but the ability to do stairs is going to be very limited for even longer than I'm in pain. The motion just overstretches the calf muscles and puts it at a high high risk of tearing. My best friend pointed out that it's not getting around Disney I need to worry about, it's reinjuring myself and having to spend many more months recovering.

I went and looked at the DISabilities board. It looks like I can get a GAC specific to avoiding stairs! That would be WONDERFUL! Oh, wow, I had no Disney was THAT awesome!!

It's definitely going to be a different and slow moving trip. My brother says that if his daughter is starting to walk by then that she and I will be moving at the same pace. Oh, great. Outrun by a 9 month old! ;)

(she's STILL super cute, by the way!! love her!!)

Good morning everyone! The weather around here is starting to make me nuts. I think it was about 82 degrees on Friday and then the rain moved in. It dropped to the low to mid 70's on Saturday, but then it plunged to the mid 50's tomorrow. Today's high is only 50 degrees. So, the sinus problems have returned and I'm just miserable. I've had a hacking cough since Saturday night and then I woke up with the worst sore throat and headache this morning. All of this on top of being 38 weeks pregnant makes for one cranky me!

Love the ticker, Shawna! :thumbsup2
Wish I had one!

Thanks! I wish you did too!!!

Thanks! Your plans sound good for the first night! How fun!!! I know you are anxious to get there!! And I was just about to ask you how you lost your weight!! I need to drop a few too!! I don't drink a lot of soda--just a DR P every now and then when we eat out- I don't buy them at home. And lots of time I just drink tea...I do water at home in bottles thru out the day...I think Mine would be helped if I got up off my seat!!! LOL...we need to get a routine going....and too, I think a med I was taking for a while was causing me to gain...so now that I am off it, I am hoping to lose the extra lbs!!! Good for you tho!!! I know you will drop the rest!!!!

Well, I'm back from what has to be the wettest, coldest graduation I've ever been to! Held outdoors, it was raining and in the 40's all morning! We got there early to get good seats - but because of all the umbrellas, etc., we couldn't see anything! But I figured I had a good shot of the aisle where DD would be walking, so I'd get a good picture or at least have the memory - wouldn't you know it, they split the class and she walked down a different aisle! We sat in the rain for almost 2 hours before the procession for nothing! Couldn't see, couldn't hear, never saw DD at all - wet, cold & annoyed!

At least her departmental graduation, where she actually got her diploma, was indoors, and was a lovely ceremony. And, unbeknownst to us, she graduated cum laude! I'm so proud of her.

Moving her out was also bittersweet, more for her than for us. This is the first time that she knows she won't be coming back to see all her friends again. And she doesn't know what she'll be doing in September - still job hunting.

But she's smart and capable - she'll figure it all out!

Now if it rains when we're in Bermuda, I'm gonna shoot someone! ;)

snykymom, congratulations to both you and your daughter! :goodvibes
Sorry the graduation ceremony wasn't all you hoped it would be.
I'll bet Bermuda will be fabulous! :yay:

Hmm, maybe I should try that fork maneuver. :rolleyes1
Good for you! :thumbsup2 I'm not familiar with p90x. :confused3

snykymom...so sorry it was a rotten weather day for that!! But congrats on the cum laude graduate!!!!! I bet it wont rain in Bermuda!! LOL...y'all are gonna have a blast!!
Kathy...p90x is a tail-kicking workout!! I obviously don't do it!! I have friends that are doing it and it really does sound intense...you even have to do a mini-workout or some type of endurance thing before you even start to see if you can hang with it. I know I couldn't do it....but the people that do it see some great results.
I got my lab results in and spoke with my pharmacist/compounder today:scared1: Some of my #s were sooooo off that it's a wonder I can function some days!!! So..I got a couple of my new supplements today, and the others should be ready to pick up tomorrow....hopefully over the course of the summer I should see some real improvements!!
Well...Mike as some of you might remember,...keeps bringing up a vacation to Colorado, then I get prices and spend time researching, and he changes his mind. Well, he got to talking to some church friends who used to live there and got him all pumped up again about going. But this time he bought the airfare. So, in a few weeks, we will be headed to Colorado. totally on the spur of the moment type vacation---which we all know I don't know how to do!!! Not much time for me to really plan a lot. But on the flip side, this is not a go, go , go Disney vaca either. We are gonna just let it be more of a go with the flow type deal:sad2: Lord, I hope all this non-planning, relaxing doesn't give me a nervous breakdown! I never have learned to just RELAX...i am ALWAYS doing something. Even if I am in bed sick, I have to read a book, or work on lists that I have to tend to when I am up and running, or SOMETHING! Just to do nothing is foreign to me! any of y'all have advice for this type of vacation-other than downloading 100 books to my Nook before I leave!!!!!

Where will you be heading to Shawna?? CO this time of year will probably still be "chilly". Jeans and sweatshirts will probably be needed for mornings and evenings.

Sheree, I'm heading your way in August. A good friend of mine has family connections to the president of the Twins and got some tickets for the Twins/Red Sox game on Aug 10!! I'm beyond thrilled! We will be sitting in The Legends Club Section P row 6. I've been looking at the website and those look like good seats. Any imput?

Wow - congrats to your DD snykymom!! Sorry you had to suffer in the rain! I'm sure Bermuda will be better!

Shawna - Oh - finally Mike gets his CO trip! I'm sure you'll have fun!

I've been so busy just with life and getting too tired to work on my TR. The weather is finally getting better - I've got some plants to get in the ground/pots this week. I think I've got some pictures finally on my computer to upload and get the next installment going - it's Dolphin time! Hopefully soon I will get it updated!

I'm getting to see Kim (Northern Disney Girl) this week! She's coming to Mpls for a conference and we're going to meet on Thursday evening! :yay:

Shelly...we are flying into Denver,.,.getting a car and then driving down to Breckinridge, colorado springs, winter park...just kind of hitting some major areas and no def plans...very scary!!!:scared1: -for a planning girl like me!! Thanks for the weather input!! We are def in shorts here...have been!! It's gonna be weird packing jeans and cardigans for sure. And I am not dressing up for cute whatsoever!! Jeans, tennis shoes and t-shirts with a jacket...I am soooo hot-natured!! Mike on the other hand will bring all his long sleeves and coats! LOL..he freezes!!
