Hi ladies!
Congrats, Soleil, on your new little one!
I'm going to Disney World in LESS than 2 months! Hard to believe we've been planning this for a couple of years! (It's for my parents' 40th, so we all know when that is!) Monday will be 8 weeks and then countdown is on!
Monday is, strangely, also exactly 8 weeks since I got injured. I had an ultrasound on my leg on Tuesday. The tech told me what she was confident she saw, what she thought might be there... and then the radiologist confirmed the confident part. When my doctor called today, to read the report to me.... yup. I tore BOTH muscles in my left calf at the same time! My mom said "I always knew you were an overachiever, but it's okay to not overdo it all the time!"
Luckily, both are small tears so I should be completely healed in about 6 months. The other option would be pain free in 6 months, with more time to finish healing. I also got clearance to walk, swim, and use an elliptical. Of course, we have a recumbent exercise bike at home, but as long as I'm careful... the doctor said. But, he added, now is not the time to think about running, sprinting, soccer, basketball, or tennis.
Turns out, he's a Disney fan, too! He was VERY emphatic that I canNOT wear sandals and that I must wear "very comfortable sneakers" and take breaks.
I'm on the fence about needing a wheelchair. My parents are all for it, my husband is convinced I don't need it... but I'm pretty sure my opinion is the only one that counts! I can't imagine trying to limp through the crowds in July, but I also can't imagine trying to be in a wheelchair in the heat of July. It might be a pool trip instead. Oh well.
Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions? Shoe recommendations?

(I think Keen sandals would be okay, since they're "active" sandals, but they're pricey and I don't like the looks of them)
