I am now hearing that,even though Cecily is not being included in the Cast intro,she will be back on the show at some point.

She is on leave, but not permanently off the cast. They will include her in the opening of any episode that she is in.

SNL has sucked big time for more than a decade, and it is pretty easy to prove. When SNL is good, you can tell by how many genuine stars it generates. There haven't been any stand-out true superstars from SNL in forever. They can't even generate a highlight real from the past 10 seasons that would make anyone laugh much.

Its been weak for a while. If it wasn't for Kate McKinnon, Keenan and weekend update, last few seasons would have been unbearable. I watch every week but don't see signs of it getting better. Hate those three guys in writers office. There's one cast member think her name is Chloe. she seems to be step above the rest.

Yup, it's been decades since it's been funny. Only time SNL in recent history was funny was when Justin Timberlake was on. We would check the listings just to see if Timberlake was going to be on some time and record it.

Unbearable is a stretch but it does come and go. The three office guys are great.

Yeah either Justin Timberlake brought in his own writers or they saved all the good stuff for him and Christopher Walken.

Yeah, Christopher Walken was awesome also (more cow bell!) And as much as I don't like the guy and disprove of him as a person, loved Alec Baldwin on SNL.

I haven’t really watched since pre-covid.

I think they'll keep it going through the 50th season. Hopefully, they'll bring back as many of the original cast as they can for a celebration episode. (The originals could show the new cast how it's done.) After the 50th season, they'll cancel the show. It's just not funny or relevant anymore.

One of my prized possessions is a VHS tape that's almost 35 years old. I taped the SNL 15th anniversary episode. Now THAT was comedy!

I haven’t really watched since pre-covid.

She was doing a theater production in LA which conflicted with the start of the SNL season. She is also in Schmigadoon! for Apple TV+ which was renewed, though I don't know if that conflicts with SNL any as she was still on both when the first season was produced.

Yes,Chloe Fineman-really strong with impersonations.

Her Nancy Pelosi a few weeks ago was spectacular.

Season premiere was a huge disappointment. Last night's show, however, shows promise. The old edgy writing of decades ago was back. Enjoyed the political humor as it seemed aimed at every political point of view.

I thought overall last night was slightly better than the last new episode but they had better shows early on. The Joker skit just did the same thing over and over. Weekend Update is always the best part of the show and having Tom Hanks reprise his Halloween skit was very good.

Agree-best of the Season IMO.

I think Cecily being back added some "interest".

BIDEN 2024 was hysterical.

I also thought the spoof of The View was really good.(although Whoopi may not feel that way!lol )

And the Tom Hanks out-of-nowhere appearance really gave the Season a huge boost.

Generally it is on too late to watch regularly. I have seen many of the skits online somewhere after the original show has aired. Always find the political skits funny but clearly the party being poked at won't find it as funny. Some people are just way too sensitive about political satire. I don't think the show has to have big stars as regulars to attract viewers. Seems a timeslot during prime time would draw a more consistent following instead of it being limited to 'late night' TV viewers.
