I would be at Disney World right now if the economy hadn't tanked. I had to cancel all our reservations and had to eat the airfare. I am so not happy tonight.

I am having a pity party right now. Want to join me?

Ah geez.. That stinks.. My sister lives in Florida (a widow) and I had hoped to go down to spend Thanksgiving with her - so she could have someone from the family there - but it didn't work out.. Between the economy and health issues, it just wasn't in the cards for me.. We were both very disappointed, but that's what stinks about being adults - we have to do the "financially responsible" thing.. Ugh!

Sure, I'll join ya! We had to cancel two trips this year - the first for med. reasons - then the resched. trip due to DH losing his branch (we're in the mortgage biz.).

Trust me....I know what you're feeling right now.

I'll join you! We have gone at Christmas time (usually from about Dec 17-23)for about the last 8 years or so. My favorite place to be at this time. I have to see a Doctor in Tampa twice per year so that has been my excuse to go every Christmas and every May. This year though DD is getting done with her semester at college later and we would not be able to hit the value days so that was sad but DH and I were going to go anyway for a few days. THEN the DR changed the appointment to the 22nd so that jacked up the expense and made it out of reach. Then I decided, oh so what! and I was going to go ahead and book a few days anyway but DH AND DD did not want to go!!!! WHAT? Have pod people taken them over? And I still have to go to Tampa.........bleh...

WDW at Christmas has become our tradition and I just get sad everytime I think of not seeing the Osbourne lights or the candlelight processional or the singers in America or the balcony at the Contemporary that is always decorated in lights when we are there..... Well, maybe next year.

So I wholeheartedly join you in the pity party. I'll bring the cocoa!

Since a year and a half ago I've cancelled one trip and never planned the other. I guess I'm two trips behind? On the plus side, we made it through my layoff, we have our credit cards almost completely paid off, and I learned how to cook with real food again!

I'll bring some Grey Goose to the pity party!

Swimnoid, we've gone every year the second week in December for 26 years! I also miss the Candellight, Wishes, the Osbourne lights, the music, just everything! I guess next year it will be that much more wonderful
