Sneaking alcohol into MK

My personal feeling is that if you're dispensing your beverage in the bathroom, that should be a message that something is wrong with the situation.

That’s a stretch based on very little information. What I inferred is he is sneaking it in the bathroom most likely because he does not want security to see him, not for other reasons as implied. The example was No different than someone sneaking candy into the movies it is sneaking to get around the rules not because you have a problem, and to suggest otherwise is a leap based on available information.

If someone is sneaking it because they don't want their significant other to see them drinking or they are ashamed of their drinking then there might be a discussion that has to happen between those two people.

The posts about bathrooms reminded me of 2 big pet peeves... along with the drunks, these people should be ejected from the parks too!

Men... the urinals that are lower are for children... Can you hold it a little longer so the children can use that one!!!

And when you are done using the bathroom... WASH YOUR HANDS! AND USE SOAP! It's not a new invention! These same people will come out of the stall, turn on the water, wet their hands (NO SOAP) and touch the paper towell dispenser, and the door handle....and everything else in MK!

I don't care what people think... I pull down some paper towels to turn on the water, I get soap, I wash my hands *(WITH SOAP), and use paper towels to get more paper towells to dry our hands and pull the door open.

You won't find me anywhere without my waterless soap dispenser

Personally, I think you should try to sneak the booze in a refillable mug from 1999. ;) That way you can also grab some free coke to mix it with.

I would just say to him you'd really prefer he didn't because you don't want to risk getting thrown out of the park.

I'm sure he could smuggle something in a jacket pocket, but Disney has eyes EVERYWHERE in the parks, so he could still get caught.

I'm not going to call anyone an alcoholic, because that's extreme, but I REALLY don't understand the need to have alcohol at the ONE place you can't have it. I'm presuming you'll be spending plenty of time at other parks and resorts where alcohol will be available. I mean, I don't feel the need to bring a flask to the library, church, etc. I don't see why you can't make that day of the vacation and alcohol free one, at least until you get to another park or a resort. To me it just seems selfish to risk repercussions for the rest of the group just to have what many people pointed out is a small amount of alcohol. :confused3

There's no alcohol allowed at MK. Just accept it and go with the flow (or lack thereof)

Side note: It's a myth that there is never any alcohol allowed in the MK.

The company happily serves loads of booze during private events outside of normal park hours. And during park hours, booze is served at some VIP and media events inside the park (but in private or cordoned-off areas).

I'm going to say I highly suggest if you are going to indulge in alcohol to wait until you are elsewhere. I've done it, and I won't again. I had more fun without. :wizard:

Qiute frankly, if you can't manage to spend a day at the MK and not have a drink, your a *ALCOHOLIC*......I suggest your friend gets thier act together and/or get help.

The one time I saw a guy with a can of beer in the MK he was being shuffled into a side door and I would guess out of the park..........family in tow. Of course he did not have the sense to just keep his mouth shut and was putting up a loud fuss.:rotfl2:

AKK

That is too funny and so judgmental! I may have one glass of wine every two months...if that, no other alcohol. I didn't realize I was an alcoholic because I would like to have some kalua in my hot chocolate (which will not be in a bag for those reference bag checks). One small airline-size bottle.

How do you plan on getting it by the bag search? The last few times I have gone to WDW they have been very thorough in checking park bags.
The same way you'd get anything past Security: don't give it to them to search.

OP, if you're all that upset about the flask, tell him that if he does it, you'll be telling on him.

Alcohol can also be used as a sanitizer! :thumbsup2

After reading all these posts, I didn't realize what a Renegade I am....a small bottle in the MK, sneak food into movie theaters, and frequently drive about 8 miles over the speed limit (or more if it's 2:00 in the morning through Kansas!).

I'll have my DH cuff me when He gets home tonight..(my avitar is actually us during our honeymoon shoot)..but that wouldn't quite be punishment :rolleyes1

Heh none of that either in the MK

We need a "sticky" with a list of park rules that we can ignore.

While my son and I were standing in line at the MK to have our bag checked by security a man in front of us was escorted out of the park for trying to sneak in a can of beer.

At least the main question has been answered. We now know why all of the rum is gone. :drinking1

what I don't get is WHY.

I drink.. a LOT, actually. I can kill a bottle of wine allll by myself.

but never ever drink while in the parks unless at a TS restaurant that serves it.. for dinner( never at lunch)

got halfway through F&W one year before giving it up as a lost cause.. it was just too bloody hot and the more I drank the more dehydrated I got even alternating water with booze.

it just is beyond me why someone feels the need to imbibe heavily in such a climate....

Nothing personal, but I don't believe this for a second.

One, the security lines aren't in the park, so, what exactly did he get escorted from?

I WOULD believe that the can of beer was confiscated. If he WAS, "escorted", SOMEWHERE, I would have to believe it was for a reason other than trying to bring in one can of beer.

I can't believe every time security finds something not allowed, they escort the person "out of the park."
