I saw it Friday night and went to the last showing for the night. My buddy who has been listening to me talk about this movie for months, wanted to go and see what all the hype was about.
I like watching the shows on the Discovery and
National Geographic channel about snakes, especially the poisonous ones. I'm scared of them like most people are but find them facinating just the same. Its amazing that something so small like a black Mamba or Inland Taipan can be so deadly.
I knew the movie was going to be cheesy and for some that was part of the attraction. Samuel Jackson was in his standard role as the cool tough guy/cop role and didn't disapoint his fans with his famous F-Bomb saying. He's got quite the fan base and I must of heard his famous tag line a dozen times while just waiting in line for the movie.
The movie has it's moments and I found most of it entertaining and parts of it to be just plain silly. There were some cool parts with the snake attacks and some of them were pretty gory of course. The makers of this movie must of been on a mission to have scenes with snakes bitting people in their private parts and the audience in the theater I was in, seemed to love it. I heard a lot of people laughing during the movie and they ate up the gory attacks.
The movie moved along pretty quickly and was a good way to waste a couple of hours. Don't go to this movie expecting a quality production with great acting, but go to it with a sense of humor and you might like it. The tittle of the movie shows the makers of this film don't want you to take it to serious either. I had fun and will probably see it again on cable one day.
