I've got questions here, it's darker than a tick in Space Mountain, he saw it drop, felt it drop, it was still in there when the ride stopped! It seems both odd to me and disturbing at the same time!
it's not to say it can't happen but it just seems strange...
I rode SM twice this week-end, thankfully I didn't read this on Friday! The crowds were near to non-existent, it was fab!
I find this hard to believe as well. What are the odds of a snake falling into a moving coaster, and biting someone(through his pants or shorts)?
This story would have made the local news and CM's would have knowledge of what happened.

I work at space and have never heard of this happening. And no, no one has ever been decapitated on the ride either. Nor have they lost an arm from putting their hand up.
When I was twelve years old, my arm was knocked off and quickly devoured by a snake while I was riding Space Mountain. Fortunately, I wasn't decapitated that same afternoon. Because that snake was HUNGRY.
I'm sure Disney wouldn't go running to the newspapers about this, and unless the victim called the papers, how would they know this happened?
I'm sure there are plenty of things that go on that we never hear about, because the person isn't publicizing it and Disney keeps it quiet.
I have encountered two snakes at WDW and bothb times Sir Hiss slithered away at the sound of people... I have a hard time believeing the sounds of SM didn`t scare the snake off. Not to mention the wealth of mice/food would be near trash, and that`s on the ground.
I admit I`m not an expert, but it`s hard to believe

Sorry, I disagree completely - plenty of things like this 'do not' happen all the time at Disney. There are always witnesses to most things that happen in this type magnitude, and Disney could not dare try to suppress it!
Glad the kid is okay. And I believe your friend told you about it.
I am having trouble understanding how the snake was identified or was it caught? SM is pretty dark during the ride. And snakes generally live after biting (not like a bee, for example, that might die when it stings you). Did he capture it? Was it still hanging out in the ride when they "landed."
Were the pictures are after the snake was captured?
