Smoking at SSR??

I am staying at SSR in September and need a smoking studio. Does anyone have a resort and room map so I can request a specific floor, building, or even room that is smoking? Also, if anyone has suggestions, I want to be looking at DTD off the balcony and hopefully be 2nd floor or above. Does anyone have any information on this? I need to call and put in the request soon.

Actually if someone just knows which rooms at SSR are designated smoking/optional that would be great information for us. Our goal is to get a smoking room on an upper floor w/ a full view of DTD/PI. I'm not even sure this is an option so any information we could obtain on which rooms are smoking would be awesome.

I was pointed to room 2812, but after comparing some maps, it looks to me like that would be an indirect view of DTD/PI and more of a view of the side of another building?? Would they be helpful in locating a room with my specifications if I called them or am I being too specific?

I don't know I haven't been home yet but that is a great picture...did you put the camera on the ground or did someone take it for you.? Normally when I try to put it on something it comes out badly.

I took that photo with my Canon SLR and it's actually just sitting on the log edge opposite of us. Just sat it down and used the timer. I'm sure you could get the same shot with a digital/snapshot camera. Thanks for the compliment!

Can you actually request a specific room number? I would think you could make your requests with MS - smoking room, upper floor, view of DTD - and then they would make every effort to meet them.

WebmasterDoc has some posts that contain SSR maps - perhaps they will have the info you are looking for.

I love your pic too! I just assumed someone took it for you. My camera has a timer - I should learn how to use it & jump into some pics!

I didn't think you could request a specific room either, but I guess things have changed? Last time I stayed at ASM and I could only request the building I wanted.

Well, I called MS and SSR's front desk and no one seems to have the information on which rooms are smoking. So unless someone has actually stayed in a room with the specifications I'm looking for I guess I can't request a specific room anyway. I'll probably just go the general requests route (upper floor, smoking, DTD view) and hope they don't think I'm being to picky and just put me wherever they want.
