Small Irritants

People that bring the entire family grocery shopping walking abreast up and down the isles refusing to give way and then stopping to have a family meeting about every single thing they buy.

Similar to that, some older women who bring their useless retired husbands along to clog the aisles and get in the way.

Or the soccer mom who brings her young teen and five teammates inside while she picks up a few items. The kids are usually all on their phones and not paying attention to anything or anyone else around them.

I just had a conversation about this the other day...for me it is people eating ice cream cones. I can’t think of a more disgusting sound or visual that is socially acceptable.

People who block a hallway/walkway to have a conversation. It happens at work all the time, usually right next to one of their offices or the break room. And I have to either walk around them, or more than likely, in between them.

When two (or more) people, or a person and their dog, take up the whole sidewalk and refuse to go single file so people can pass. I am a runner and at least once every run I have to jump out into the street to get around the oblivious.

Me too! Even my 3 year old knows to go “single file, single file” when other people are present on sidewalks in the community.

When my DD is home from school and my kitchen counter is always sticky.

I clean it and walk away. Come back and it's sticky again.

I thought this was life for the next 10 years? The moment the cleaning people leave, the kids destroy the place...lol. My bannisters seem to always be sticky. Are they rubbing yogurt on them? I think it’s possible.

Everything people do at the airport and on airplanes.

-On Southwest, why do people line up to get on the plane way before they announce boarding? I've never been a flight where this doesn't happen. Also, if you are in the B or C group why do you start lining up when they call the A group?

-Also on Southwest, when a family has 1 person purchase the Early Bird so they can board early and then that person saves spots for everyone else that gets on later.

-When people take off their shoes on the plane.

-When the plane lands, and 95% of the people immediately jump to their feet only to stand there in the aisle or uncomfortably ducking under the overhead bins and wait 10 minutes for the door to open. I laugh at this every time because you'd think people would eventually learn that getting off the plane doesn't happen instantly, you have to wait for the door to open which takes awhile and then you have to wait for the people in front of you to leave. Just relax for a minute and you'll get off the plane in the same exact amount of time.

-The one that drives me absolutely crazy because I feel like the only person in the world that doesn't do this, is standing right up against the baggage carousel waiting for luggage. There's only so much space around the carousel and it inevitably gets filled up by all the people that line up against it. Now there are people that either can't see if there bag is ready to be picked up or they do see it and can't get to it because people are standing there. Even worse is the family of 5 that all stand up there together, while dad grabs each bag as they come, setting the bag down and waiting for the next one, taking up even more space like they are the only people on the flight.

If everyone just took a couple steps back, everyone could still see the carousel. When you see your bag come around you walk up, grab it, then leave. You aren't saving any time by guarding a spot at the carousel. Sitting on the carousel isn't going to make your bag come any faster. I don't know if this is selfishness and everyone feeling like they need to be first all the time or if I'm the crazy one here?

Yes! The last time I flew I missed my bag coming around, I saw it, just couldn't get to it because of the whole groups of families who all had to huddle up against the carousel, yes it takes all 5 of you to grab your bags!

And yes I know they're cute, but I despise those little shopping carts in the supermarket, I don't like to spend more time there than necessary but it always seems there are kids with little carts clogging up the aisles.

My coworker standing in my doorway to ask me something while I'm eating lunch at my desk. It is never anything so important that couldn't wait 30 minutes.

People who wait for me to leave my parking spot, especially if I’m just starting to load up a bunch of stuff.
You know I have problems walking far, so I am always happy to wait for the space.

Did you ever stop to think that maybe she needs him there? Perhaps he drives or has better vision in reading labels. Or, just perhaps, they enjoy spending time together.

Nope. Those old guys are useless. They are not helping their wives read labels or assisting in the store in any way. They are not there to spend time together because they are usually 20 feet behind lollygagging and looking clueless. Granted, maybe the woman doesn't drive and it may be one of the few times they leave the house.

There are plenty of older guys who aren't like this. But I know one when I see one.

Aren’t runners supposed to run on the road? The majority of my town has sidewalks, but people walk on them. Do you expect two people going on a nice walk and talk should walk single file?

No! Running on the road is incredibly dangerous. If there is a sidewalk, that is where I run. NEVER on the road...yikes!

People walking should be courteous and switch to single file as runners or others approach. As should runners in groups when they come upon walkers. Awareness of others on a path is an important safety issue.

Slow walkers bug me in crowded places, like Disney parks. Especially when it's the exit of an attraction (like Soarin) and they are just shuffling along, oblivious to the 50 people behind them.

Also, people who drive SUPER slow in parking lots looking for a space, even when it is obvious that there are no spaces.

Here is a case of you never know why they are walking slow. Some walk slow because she CAN'T walk fast for medical reasons. I get equally annoyed at people who are always RUSHING around, walking too fast.
