Small Irritants

You know I have problems walking far, so I am always happy to wait for the space.
I never purposely take my time, but it’s irritating when people (not referring to you) get inpatient with me. Politely waiting is perfectly fine. If I can see the person who is waiting huffing or they honk... That’s what rubs me the wrong me.

I try not to let little things get to me. I put on my blinker so somone who comes up behind me knows I am waiting

Nope. Those old guys are useless. They are not helping their wives read labels or assisting in the store in any way. They are not there to spend time together because they are usually 20 feet behind lollygagging and looking clueless. Granted, maybe the woman doesn't drive and it may be one of the few times they leave the house.

There are plenty of older guys who aren't like this. But I know one when I see one.
Are you one? :rotfl:

Here is a case of you never know why they are walking slow. Some walk slow because she CAN'T walk fast for medical reasons. I get equally annoyed at people who are always RUSHING around, walking too fast.

Just move to the side so people can pass if you walk slow. Maybe I needed to clarify...people who walk slow should NOT take up the whole path.

As someone who has transitioned over the years from a “rusher” to a “shuffler” due to aging and a hip replacement, I thank you, dc, for your understanding and empathy!

I walk all the way to the right and still get crappy people who think I should speed up. Maybe if they had to relearn to walk and foot drop they wouldn’t be such poopholes, but I still get the looks even I’m on my husbands arm or leaning a bit on the stroller. I wish could speed past people like I used to, but I was never upset about it.

Maybe you know one, maybe you don't. Might be the guy is bored, lollygagging.
On the other hand, he could be a veteran with lingering injuries, or someone with neurologic disease. If couples like this you bother you, just ignore them.
Zip through your list and on to the checkout.

-When the plane lands, and 95% of the people immediately jump to their feet only to stand there in the aisle or uncomfortably ducking under the overhead bins and wait 10 minutes for the door to open. I laugh at this every time because you'd think people would eventually learn that getting off the plane doesn't happen instantly, you have to wait for the door to open which takes awhile and then you have to wait for the people in front of you to leave. Just relax for a minute and you'll get off the plane in the same exact amount of time.

This made me laugh out loud!!!

I always do this!! After sitting in my seat for 3+ hours, I can't wait to stand up! I fly 4-5 times a year. Obviously I know that I am going to stand there for a good ten minutes, before its time to get off. I have never stood up thinking that would aid in my getting off the plane sooner!!! Ha, ha! My legs are just craving to be in the standing position! I always make sure that I get an aisle seat for this very reason!

It never in a million years occurred to me that there was someone sitting nearby "laughing" at me and thinking my sole purpose for being in the upright position was that I had an irrational thought of somehow getting off sooner!

No! Running on the road is incredibly dangerous. If there is a sidewalk, that is where I run. NEVER on the road...yikes!

People walking should be courteous and switch to single file as runners or others approach. As should runners in groups when they come upon walkers. Awareness of others on a path is an important safety issue.
Literally no one over the age of 10 runs on the sidewalk here, I can’t even picture it. Some towns have bike lane than folks run in, otherwise it’s street only. The main ave has no runners, but there is a bike/walking path in a park that runs 3 miles through town, parallel to the Main Street. Running on our sidewalks is not a good idea, with shifts, cracks, and different surfaces (concrete, slate...).

Those sound like really crappy sidewalks. In my city, sidewalks are wide, smooth, and often double as bike paths. They are constantly full of runners, cyclists, and walkers of all ages.

I definitely think people should move, but if they are coming up behind me, I don’t see them.
Oh no, I meant passing face to face. I think that's what the OP was talking about. Yeah there's many times where I don't hear them until they're right next to me if they're coming from behind. I think that's really different than someone you can plainly see walking the opposite direction of you on the sidewalk.

People that bring the entire family grocery shopping walking abreast up and down the isles refusing to give way and then stopping to have a family meeting about every single thing they buy.
Lol... yes I can feel you on that one. Honestly I'm not sure why more than 1 sdult would go to the grocery store anyway. I mean I know ppl do it all the time and I'm sure they enjoy the company, but to me the grocery store is not fun. I'm just trying to get in and out asap and the less ppl to drag along the better.

I don't think it's rude or anything unless like you said they're stopping traffic to discuss every item, but I just don't really understand why so many couples go in pairs.

Mine is a Board thing. In real life, if someone doesn't like me, I just avoid them and everyone lives happily ever after. Not here, they watch everything I post and complain about it

Yeah, the hate is definitely amplified on here. Just gotta let it roll right off...
