Small DSLR backpack?

Hi all! My Lowepro top loader has been good to me, but after a long day it starts to hurt my shoulder. I really prefer carrying backpacks to shoulder bags. The problem is, I can't seem to find a DSLR backpack that isn't gigantic. I only need room for my Canon 60D with 18-200mm lens attached, my 50mm lens, SD cards, and my wallet and phone. All the ones I've been able to find are built to carry way more equipment than that. Can anyone point me in the direction of a smaller backpack? Thanks!

I had the exact same problem as you. I tried dozens of backpacks. The smallest ones I found that worked were the Lowepro Flipside Sport 10L AW and the Rover Pro 35L AW. I found the Flipside to be a little too shallow for my Nikon d700, so I prefer the Rover.

Lowepro 102aw and it has a strap to mimic a backpack.

Tamrac zuma series. I like the 7
Tamrac evo 6 is small and light

Lowepro fastpack 150 would do it and very comfortable.

I use the Lowepro Slingshot 102 and it fits my Sony A57 with a Sigma 50-200 lens attached, the 18-55 kit lens, wallet, cell phone and it has a spot to hold a tripod. What I really love about this bag is that it has a rainshield hidden in it that if the rain comes you can put that over the bag and it is all but dry. It isn't a backpack, but it is a sling bag that is easy to move around to pull your camera out when it is needed or put back in once you aren't using your camera. I have a Jill-e messanger bag and I hate it because it doesn't stay shut. I use this Slingshot all the time.

Hi - I have been through a ton of these bags - and I finally settled on this - the Case Logic SLRC 205.
It's by far THE most comfortable and practical bag I have ever owned - bar none!

It is currently on offer at $38.99 on Amazon (a lot cheaper that I got mine for!).
It holds my D7000 with an 18-200 and has a side pocket that will also hold my Sigma wide angle and my 30mm prime (needs either a lens case or something soft to seperate them with). There is room for a couple of filters in the front flap and this also is designed to hold a smal tripod if needed. There's another small pocket to hold a remote/keys/chewing gum etc.

The main reason I like this for Disney is that there is a small zippered flap on the strap that is perfect for tickets/fastpass/credit cards (or a lens cap).

Good luck with your search.

Thanks for all the suggestions you guys! I managed to get a pretty good Tenba backpack at a great discount so for now I'm happy with it, but when it comes to camera bags, I tend to have a wandering eye :rotfl:
