Tattoo(s) - Do You Have Any??

I don't have any, but I want one. My wanting a tattoo is surprising to most people. LOL! And, actually, I want 3: a tattooed wedding ring, a "breathe" or "let it go" for the inside of my wrist, & 3 little sea turtles & a palm tree on the inside of my foot & ankle. But I'm afraid of how much they will hurt.

The tattoo parlors that starting sprouting up like weeds around here in the last 5 years are starting close due to the fad fading. Kind of the poster child of fad. Okay, those gourmet cupcake stores had a shorter life span.

The most disturbing thing is the shuttered tattoo parlors and cupcake stores are all being taken over by Pay Day Advance businesses.:furious:

That isn't the sign of a fad ending but the maturation of the market. A fad is short-lived, think pet rock, not something that sticks around for decades.

I have seven and plan to get a few more. haha My DH (who said would never get one) got one last year. DD designed it and he loves it! He didn't like the pain though and I doubt he would ever get another one. I am also terrified of needles! For some reason tattoos don't bother me at all.

I only have one Disney inspired tattoo. I got it after our first trip to Disneyland last year and bought a Jasmine Becket Griffith artwork.

It needs to have more added to it, but I haven't gotten around to making an appointment yet. I also want to add the Haunted Mansion wallpaper around the top by her head. I love what's done so far though!!

As for it being a fad, I don't think it is. Those tattoo studios that are closing are probably the ones that just don't have a good enough customer base or are just not good at doing tattoos. We had a few close around here, but the really good artists have been around for a long time. My tattoo artist has solid bookings at least 4-5 months out. I've seen some really bad tattoos...those are the studios that don't stay open. It truly is an art and you have to be good at what you do.

Have 3. I'll get more. Next will probably be Yoshi eggs in the colors of our birthstones.

I don't have pics of all of them all. I've got my dad's name in Chinese on my wrist and a flower back tat not pictured. Hubs has a sun on his back not pictured.

Of course tattoos aren't new, they have been around since 6,000 BC. But the boom in heavy ink is fading, especially among women. I think if we could put together graph charts of business at tattoo shops, the line would be headed down, and a graph chart of business at clinics that do tattoo removal, the line would be headed up.

I have 4.

First one I got is on my left boob. It's a heart with a ribbon going through the middle of it and a rose going down the side of it. Got this about 21 years ago. Want to have something else to cover it. Just haven't found what I want though.

Second one I got was a full anklet on my left ankle. It's a vine that goes all the way around with 3 flowers above the inside of my ankle and also above the outside of my ankle.

Third one I got was a small tribal symbol with a heart in the middle of it.

Last one I got this past November, the day after my mom passed away. My brother and sister also got the same tattoo, so we all match. I got mine on my left inner wrist, my brother got his on his forearm and my sister got hers on her boob.

I wouldnt mind having one but am too chicken to do it, plus as a lifer on coumadin I shouldnt anyway. My son has one, daughter has two, granddaughter has two, grandson has one, and son-in-law has three, and daughter-in-law recently got one as well. I think some are nice and others are "what were you thinking?" :)

I don't mind tattoos on other people, but I don't want one myself.
