Fiber Optic was really popular at one time, but isn’t so popular now. For those that don’t know….

So let’s talk about our fiber optic decorations today. Give me your shimmery answer……..

Do you have or had any fiber optic decorations?
If yes….. what holiday(s) do you/did have decorations for?
(multiple-choice)

For Me……I absolutely love fiber optic decorations, and it makes me sad that they are barely around anymore. They are so pretty to look at, and actually kind of relaxing to look at, when you watch the item change colors. I have Halloween and Christmas fiber optic decorations. For Halloween I have a jack-o’-lantern and a scarecrow with a jack-o’-lantern head (he stands up). For Christmas I have the below pictures ⬇️. The Christmas tree was my grandma‘s. The wreath above the fireplace we have had for about 25 years. The little Santa I’ve had for about 25 years - he’s one of my most favorite Christmas decorations. I also have another Santa that I don’t have a picture of - my husband found him on eBay last year and bought him for me.

I agree sadly I don’t have any left
I miss the ones they had at EPCOT so much !!! I thought they were so pretty

I used to have a little Christmas Bear one. They're very pretty.

I don't have
Used to have a couple small ones that plugged into a computer

We have a 2 foot Christmas tree in living room that we keep up all year and on a timer. We agree watching the lights change are relaxing.

I think we still have a Christmas tree one. It's not our yet. And yes, they are pretty.

We have a couple on the mantle, they're small but very nice. Christmas time only.

Not for me - totally not to my taste. My DMom had a first-generation fibre-optic Christmas tree. It was 8’ tall and had all the shimmery rainbow colours on constant rotation, so bright you could practically read by it. She absolutely LOVED that thing, although I thought it was appalling. My DS was little then and he called it ‘Disco Christmas at Grandma’s house’. She took a ton of teasing over that tree but it was the only item that got fought over when she went.:littleangel:

My mom got me this bear a long time ago , I love him, he really should be out side…lol

My parents currently have a 3' fiber optic tree that they put on an end table in their living room. It's not as heavily fiber optic as a few I saw in the 1980s that I loved, but it's still pretty neat. Each little green pine section has fiber optic strands embedded and they color shift.

I've always loved fiber optic. I had one of those wands back when I was a kid. I recently saw a baseball/softball tee that uses fiber optic lights like this to keep the hitter's eyes focused on where they'll be hitting the ball.

I was going to say no, but Meriweather's post reminded me that we do have a few small decorations that plug into the computer.

I have never had fiber optic decorations. My Grandfather and his wife had a small tabletop fiber optic tree at Christmas. I thought it was so cool. This was back in the late 70’s & early 80’s.

I had truly forgotten all about fiber optics until I saw the title of this post. My husband and I are 44 and he had a 2 foot fiber optic tree in his apartment in college. We put it in our own home for a Christmas or two after but I'm assuming it played out or else I have no idea what happened to it. I never knew other holiday decorations existed in fiber optics.
