I bought my mom a similar lamp as a Christmas gift in the early 1970's when I was in Junior High School. It sat on top of her TV for over 40 years. When she passed away 11 years ago and we were sorting through items in her house and deciding what to keep and what to get rid of, THAT lamp was one of the things my wife said right off the bat that she wanted us to keep. I really hadn't thought about it. So now it is on our TV stand........since you can't put things on top of modern flat screen TVs.My grandmother used to have something similar to this back in the 70’s/80’s.
