Skull Island: Reign of Kong official grand opening!

Apparently, Universal decided to just have an event and post a photo less than hour ago to announce that Kong is officially opened. Of course, this might not be a big deal, as a lot of us knew of the soft opening and some of us have already ridden the ride itself, but I thought I would let everyone know that it's official that the ride is officially open according to Universal's instagram.

Some people in the comments of the photo, also were not thrilled however, as Universal obviously never announced an official grand opening and decided to have this spur of the moment. So, some people are disappointed to have not been a part of the celebration.

Was anyone there (the photo appears as if it's night so it might have not even happened today, but technically yesterday)? Also, does anyone else feel left out due to them never announcing an official date?

For some past rides after the soft openings do not recall UO doing any "grand" opening

Only ride I hit for the start of new ride opening were Shrek

Did soft opening and later that period full opening

Many will get the UO emails later to announce Kong is live

I personally haven't been to many, just for Hogsmeade. Which obviously for that, they definitely did a "grand" opening. It appears in the photo that they did have some little event, or show, I suppose. With a little fire spewing out, some people in costume, and a crowd of people, but not too many people in the photo. I'm not sure how "grand" it was, or how long it lasted, but they obviously did a little "razzle dazzle" to announce that it was official (I'm assuming) last night. And therefore, decided to use the captured moment to announce it today. Either way, just wanted to let everyone know it was "official" according to Universal's instagram.

Al Roker was there during the Today Show this morning, but there wasn't any advanced mention that he would be in Orlando.

Opening that new section of the park for potter was different than opening a new ride

Everyone was watching g for potter to open
A lot of hype was put into it for many months
It was an exciting time for UO !
