Ski poles--at least I think that's what they are.

So glad I came to this forum.
I don't need an ECV, but arthritis in my hip, makes it difficult to walk 10 miles a day at Disney. I've tried a walking stick, but I find it really slows me down. It just isn't a good fit for me. I've seen people using what looks like ski poles for walking. I remember a few years ago walking in a wooded area with a friend and she pulled a long stick out of the woods for me, and that helped a lot.
Do you think they'd be allowed at Disney? I've never seen anyone using them there.
My next trip is solo, so I can take it as slow as I want, but I'm hoping to be there with my adult children I the next year or so.

I doubt anything with a sharp tip would be allowed. But I think what you want is what I've heard called a Nordic Walking Pole which has more a blunt tip. Google will show you.

Actually, you can buy tips for ski poles that interchange with the sharp tips and are like little rubber "feet". I don't know how to link things, but if you search through Amazon for rubber tips for hiking poles, hopefully you'll find them.

My friend uses what is called trekking poles.

I used these at Disney land. I got the ones they had a rubber end that changed out for the ski type tip. As a bonus mine also collapse to be smaller great for taking on rides.
Thank you. I finally looked it up, duh, ever heard of the internet? I'm going to buy some and try them out at home. If they work out for me, I'll take them with me. If security has a problem with them, there's probably a way I can check them and pick them up on my way out. Thanks for your responses.

Look for some that are collapsible. Much easier to pack that way. I’ve packed one in checked luggage several times without any TSA problems. I pack it on top so that if TSA decides the X-ray looks funny, they can open the suitcase to see what it is without digging through everything else, but so far they haven’t looked, as far as I can tell.

Good advice, thanks.
