Sister Wives

Kody is a complete butthead. He has tons of issues. But I do see his point in saying what’s the point of all this if they aren't a family and together. It defeats the purpose. I mean he’s 95% of the issue on why they aren’t together and why they’ve split apart. The wives have gotten used to living separate and leading their own lives. They have that taste of freedom now and don’t want to go back. And that’s his fault.

Could not have been said better! 👍

I'm just finishing up this week's episode. Man, was he throwing a temper tantrum or what? This is all about nobody going for his single home idea.

Also, if you look back through this thread, I have never been a fan of Meri. But Kody is turning me into one. He has clearly checked out of their relationship but doesn't have the intestinal fortitude to either fix it or get a divorce.

ETA: They're already divorced legally of course. I mean to just officially end their relationship.

He has no NEED to fix his relationship with Meri because he has three other wives. @@ She annoys me because she always looks like she is about to cry but she also has not had the easiest life with her infertility and how that made her feel plus the divorce so he could marry Robyn @@

I only watch on occasion and it's really just because I am waiting for the implosion :rotfl2:

I've never been a fan of Meri either, but I felt very sorry for her this last episode. I would be really hurt if my husband said those kinds of things about me. He either needs to let her go or actively work towards making things better. It drove me nuts to watch them try and communicate. How hard is it to pick a place to put a house? And why the heck can't they take some of the trees down? I just built on a protected shoreline with massive layers of federal, state, and county regulations and was able to take trees down with a mitigation plan to plant more elsewhere on the property.

I thought the same thing, just take out the dang trees! They seem to have money for everything else! It gets on my last nerve to watch Meri hem-haw around constantly. I think she does this all the time and I really believe it's just as Kody describes it, Meri does this to make everyone bend to her desires. I would have told her where to stick it back when they bought the Vegas houses and she insisted on having a 5 bedroom house just like the others and that it wasn't fair that she had a smaller house just because she didn't have more children! ***??? How selfish can you be??? She's useless. I'd tell her you're getting a treehouse and that's final. I'd also tell her she couldn't build on the pond....no no...I'd just tell her to go live in that BnB she insisted on having. I'm done with her lol.

I was wondering the same thing about the trees! Can some be cut down? There seem to be wide open spaces on the land with no trees. Perhaps some can be planted elsewhere so the other wives would have a little shade around their houses? It also seems like a huge piece of land where four houses could easily be placed. Does anyone really have to "be in the trees" as they put it?

Money-wise, I think it would be wise to move forward with at least one house. Either Mary or Janelle's should be built first since they're renting their current homes. Get them into their new houses and stop the rent payments. Christine and Robyn/Kody own their houses, so at least they're building a little equity with their payments. The rent is just going out the window. It's seems that Kody has given up on doing what is best for the family vs. what is easiest for him.

Does anybody here with an LDS or FLDS background know how one of these "celestial marriages" gets dissolved or if there even is a way? How do polygamists break up, if they ever actually do?

It’s comical how now that the wives are on the same page to get on with building the homes there’s all of a sudden no money. It’s a tic for tac. He can’t get his big house so they can’t get their own houses. He’s a control freak and likes screwing with the wives. It’s a mind game.

Yeah that was weird. I guess they spent all their money buying the 2 houses??? Not very good planning on their part to buy the land and then not have money to build houses.

Huh. Weird. I thought for sure I had posted this, but I can't find it, and it's still sitting here in the "compose" box at the bottom. So I apologize if this ends up being posted twice. But... Yeah... Kody annoys me. He always says “I’m trying!” Uh... No. You aren’t. You tell your wives what’s going to happen, and when one (or more) of them says she doesn’t like the decision, all he does is explain why his way is best and then he gets mad when they don’t see it his way. And then he says that everyone blames him for everything. Yeah. Because you won’t listen. And really that's his way of shifting the blame, and not claiming responsibility for much of anything. "Yeah, they blame me, but it's not my fault. It's THEIRS, and they just want to blame me." He's constantly playing the victim.

Jumping in here to say I’ve never watched the show but every time I see this thread I think “oh! I wish I could get a sister wife!” Like I’d love to have someone around here to help with the kids and house stuff and occasionally *other things * when I’m not I’m the mood 😂😂😂 Just me??

I know many many pages back we had some Dis’ers who were local to The Brown Family and provided updates on Coyote Pass. Can we get another update? My guess is that lane will never see any Brown family home

I doubt they’ll build anytime soon. Lumber prices have skyrocketed since this was filmed. If they couldn’t afford it before, they definitely can’t afford to build 4 homes right now.

I really don't think there is any more to it than just a decision to walk away. There are no legal ties, but their moral ties are strong. By leaving the marriage they think that they will not get all of the blessings in heaven that come with being a plural family. As a plural family they are at the top of the 3 levels of the celestial kingdom where you get the best of the best. The second level is nice and you get to have lots of nice things but not everything. The 3rd level is sad and lonely. You don't get to be reunited with your family and it sounds more like hell. My friend told me that they had one of those re-enactment kind of church things when she was a kid, where they had a carnival and they could win tickets for all of the games they played in order to cash them in for prizes OR you could go to the booths that had scripture based games to play (or something like that) and she said she was playing this basketball game the whole time trying to win an ipod and at the end of it they had 3 rooms set up designed to be like the 3 levels of heaven and because she was selfish and tried to win a prize, she was in the 3rd level and she was put in a room with the lights off by herself and she said it scared the crap out of her and taught her a lesson! I was just dumbfounded. But that said, they put a LOT of stock into getting into that 1st level of heaven so walking away would NOT be as simple as it sounds for someone with those kinds of beliefs ingrained into their psyche. Can you imagine? Basically thinking that you'd never see your children in heaven if you didn't stick it out? For them it's for "time and all eternity", not just for their days here on earth. It continues on.
